Riku got a reaction from Okarin in What do you do to motive yourself to continue reading
You don't need motivation to read, you're supposed to enjoy it. If you have to force yourself to continue, then just drop it.
For example, I waited years for Clover Day's TL, but in the end, once I decided to read it in Japanese I dropped it after one route because I found it just meh. I don't have to force myself to read everything because I waited years and many people praise it. If I can't enjoy myself I'd rather read something else.
On the other end, reading Baldr Sky Dive (2) right now, around 80+ hours in and I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, so I can read non-stop.
To finish, yeah you might miss something by dropping it because perhaps you'd come to like it later after struggling a little, but if you're reading something else you enjoy instead, the end result is the same. You read to have a great time, it's not a duty, so as long as you're enjoying yourself it doesn't matter what you read.

Riku got a reaction from Dreamysyu in Birthday thread
Considering how active I am on this forum, I didn't except someone to wish me Happy Birthday here.
Thanks!

Riku got a reaction from tymmur in My experiences using JPN TL software and web translators to TL JPN VNs
I don't know, I'm pretty sure everyone explained that MTL is bad, because, you know, the translation is wrong. I think you're able to defend MTL that much for now because you basically have almost no Japanese knowledge. As you said you were learning, I wonder what your stance will be in a few months once you'll have enough knowledge to realise how bad MTL is.

Riku got a reaction from BookwormOtaku in What Anime are you watching now?
Exactly. I didn't understand why Gintama was so popular when I watched the first two episodes. But I didn't really had something else to do at that time and decided I might as well continue. Didn't regret it one bit. One of the funniest anime I've seen, and serious moments and battles are really good too.
Though I would understand that some people don't like the humour as sometimes it's really "Japanese" and we can't relate to it.

Riku got a reaction from Dreamysyu in Playing VNs on a 13 inch laptop.
What's important too is the resolution. I went from a 19" to a 15", and the 15" is FHD, so everything looks even smaller, and when you zoom/enlarge it looks even more pixelised.
So, a 13" in HD is actually easier on the eyes than a 15"+ in higher resolution. Might sound stupid, but I was really surprised when I saw how small VN windows were in my new screen, and how pixelised it becomes when you enlarge it.
EDIT: Ok, just saw that the XPS 13 has a FHD screen, will look really small.
