  1. Should I look through visual novels from the same perspective as, say, books? Hell no. Book only has the story as its sole marketable point, while visual novels please three out of five basic human senses; there's more ground to cover. While I agree that visual novels' stories are much shallower than books', I can't say the same when I compare them to TV-series or even movies. Should some cookie-cutter moege be better than a 100th rehashed sitcom in an environment done to death, but with a tiny alteration? You tell me, both seem quite braindead to me. A good story isn't really what this genre of literature is about, I don't see a point in criticizing them for that. I like my completely brainless SoL just as much as edgier shit with experimental themes, and I really wouldn't have it any other way.
  2. As far as I know, I was in elementary school from years two to five, when I was still a respectable human being with actual good values for a wee child. Also full of hope, maybe.
  3. Sekien no Inganock has some romantic themes but not nearly as centric as in Gahkthun, and as for Sharnoth, I'm not that sure as I haven't gotten that far at all, but I think close to none.
  4. Fairytale Requiem is something you might enjoy if you can go through reading it in Japanese, but you can also check out the WAB (What A Beautiful) series, made by the same company, though it's more steampunk than pure fantasy.
  5. Welcome to the Forums, hope to see ya around. If I'm not mistaken, 999 got dubbed in English not too long ago.
  6. Congrats on five years. What is the supreme niche of visnovs in your eyes?
  7. DearDrops is another very good one. I'd suggest giving it a shot. Something like Rewrite might interest you as well. I'd also suggest playing other Liar-Soft's titles since you loved Gahkthun.
  8. Dal Segno, Princess Evangile, Da Capo (I-III), Hatsukoi 1/1, If My Heart Had Wings, Noodle Works, KoiChoco, and Hoshizora no Memoria, to name a few.
  9. Absolute slander. I cannot even believe this is the direction Fuwanovel is going. What an outrage. That said though, I don't judge so you can just go ahead and make your most depraved and disgusting fantasies a reality, bestest of luck to, brave soldier.
  10. Feelsbadman I'm obligated to pick @mitchhamilton, no matter what.
  11. Yes, let's sing out praises to the bestest and coolest waifu in the whole wide world: Nikola Tesla. Just look at him and let you faceholes gape in pure amazement.
  12. I personally prefer https://www.wix.com/ It has the best blog customization options available, so you can really make it your own.
  13. A Magical High School Girl is very much worth it alone. The third tier looks pretty crappy, in all honesty.
  14. Sure, I play a decent chunk of roguelikes, metroidvanias, bullet hells, and RPGs. You can add me on Steam, the same username as everywhere else.
  15. New trends are always fun to look at. Congratulations, now the true grind starts. Happy hunting.
  16. Hoshizora no Memoria. I still have so many fond memories of when I first played it and I think it's something everyone should at least try out.
  17. Hi, a new person who sometimes likes my posts. Thank you for your patronage, and I hope for our mutually beneficial engagement to continue.
  18. I do think my most embarrassing moment was explaining to my parents that I translate porn games for a hobby. It went good and I can still read VNs and translate them with a clear conscience, but for that 2-hour talk, I really wanted to dig a ditch and go die.
  19. "Friend", huh. Anyways, if she loves smut, give Imouto Paradise 1 & 2 a shot and if she feels like going for something with more solid substance, Lovely Cation 1 & are quite decent.
  20. .txt files are annoying to read so I can't be bothered to.
  21. Hapymaher. Just Hapymaher. And maybe Sona-Nyl too.
