Dreamysyu reacted to littleshogun in Compass of Dei Gratia announced by Lemnisca (Kickstarter is now live!)
I don't know if it's okay to use the KS thread for this, but I figure may as well do it. As for what I want to write, it's in regard of the full translation patch for Dei Gratia that was just released today (The VNDB page of the translation patch), so you can play it in case you're still waiting for Lemnisca to try to do the KS and can't wait any longer.

Ayy what’s good you old FuwaFucks 🤙
I’ve been watching Glass Mask the “newer” version, its pretty good for a drama, shoujo. Romantic elements present but not overt, realistic setback and character growth. When i saw it had a pretty gold score on MAL i had to give it a shot, and havent been disappointed

Dreamysyu reacted to Plk_Lesiak in Spring 2023 Anime Discussion
Definitely a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but it's more than just a particularly dumb anime, it's the kind of thing that perpetually go off the rails and try to one-up itself with pure absurdity and degeneracy. It's more deranged than just plain stupid, I somehow deeply enjoy that kind of weirdness. 😆

Dreamysyu reacted to Plk_Lesiak in What are you listening to right now?
Aye, she definitely has a very specific sound/vibe she's going for, but I found it admirable how much it stands out when even the better parts of Japanese indie pop are usually very samey. The sound and her whisper-singing could be annoying to some ears, but it's surprisingly skillful for someone this young.
Oh, and while I'm chain posting, why not drop another underrated thing ;]

This girl's compositions and arrangements got me pretty mesmerized lately~

Interest stacks (user-made collections) on MAL. After all, I'm not the only weirdo around with this kind of "taste". ;]

How do you even find this kind of anime?

Dreamysyu reacted to Shinyun226 in Recent (Japanese) Things You Have Purchased
Combination of a few hauls that came in over the past couple of weeks:
Okujo no Yurireisan ~Full Chorus~
Pretty famous Yurige I've been been wanting to get for a while. Liar Soft finally just put out a re-issue of this late last year, so had to pick it up.
White Album (Original release) - Will be a little bit until I play this (ToHeart is up next on my Leaf queue) but something I was gonna have to buy eventually either way, so decided to pick it up.
Princess Danger 1&2. Two old, fairly obscure ADV games by JANIS. They're apparently Yurige so decided to pick them up.
Oudou Yuusha and Diabolique (Alice Soft)
These were honestly kind of filler-purchases (basically I wanted some additional cheap/small items to get my money's worth on shipping), but Diabolique I have heard really good things about so was probably something I'd pick up eventually. Oudou Yuusha was a pretty random choice, but I generally like RPGs by AliceSoft so can't hurt.
Ao to Ao no Shizuku ~a calling from tears~
First game by Lass. Got interested in the developer after hearing about 3days (their 2nd game), and seems like most of their catalogue is pretty well regarded so decided to pick this up.
Triangle Heart 1・2・3
So after watching Lyrical Nanoha for the first time earlier this year, I found out that it was actually a sort of spin-off of Triangle Heart 3 so... being the type that's pretty OCD about experiencing the source material before adaptations (even if Nanoha isn't really a direct adaption), had to pick these up.
And, on the topic of Nanoha, got the Blu-ray box for A's + the respective Sound Stage Drama CDs (still have to track down the dramas for the 1st series as well).
Finished collecting all the Air Drama CDs (volumes 6-9)
Volumes 1 and 3 of the Snow Drama CDs. Unfortunately they stopped after 3 so the Shigure and Ouka routes never got adapted but... liked the game a lot so definitely wanted to pick these up. Will have to track down vol 2 (Asahi) as well eventually.
Special Edition of the Blu-ray for the new WataTen movie
And lastly a whole bunch of new Yuri manga~

Dreamysyu reacted to 0xcds4r in Visual Novel Core (With lua/json support)
Hello, world!
I'm developing a visual novel engine.
It already has a number of basic functions, loading lua, json and etc.
I want to make something unique and modern, and most importantly, that everything works stably on all operating systems (Win, Android, Linux and etc.
Source code: https://github.com/0xcds4r/VisualNovelCore/tree/main/stable
0.6-stable build (Source + test build for windows): https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/26303-visual-novel-core-06-stable-engine-for-2d-visual-novels-with-luajson-support-download-demosource-code/
Scene Editor (alpha-test): https://forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/26287-visual-novel-core-with-luajson-support/?do=findComment&comment=538025
Project is open-source and actively developed.
If anyone is interested, then support my project on itch.io: https://0xcds4r.itch.io/visual-novel-core/community
Thank you for your attention.

My (all yuri) Manga haul for the month of January just arrived today~
Decided I better get around to reading Wataoshi and Sasakoi since both of those have anime adaptations announced so grabbed all the current volumes of those + got all of Futari Escape since that's the one other ongoing YuriHime title that I haven't been following yet.
After that got the new volumes of KimiShinu, Citrus+ and Fuzuroi no Reni, and then a few new series.

Dreamysyu reacted to Emmyaoi in New here! I'm here to Interview VN Creators
Hey! My name is Emily and I'm a writer for All Ages of Geek along with a Visual Novel Line Editor and Beta-Reader. My current project as a Line Editor and Beta-Reader is actually "I Married a Monster on a Hill: Dates" which is a project from the platform. I want to interview as many Visual Novel Creators as possible for every genre, but mostly Boys Love VNs. I usually write 3-5 posts per week and want to dedicate my space to Visual Novel Creator Interviews. So you'll see me around asking for creator interviews! Also would love to review your games as well. But glad to finally make an account here. Nice to meet everyone!

Dreamysyu reacted to littleshogun in Mangagamer 2023 licensing survey is up
Mangagamer released the result for the survey, and it's nice to see that two out of three suggestion from mine are in top 25 (Even though honestly speaking it's not say much). The most notable thing is that there's still WA2 and Fate on top 20, although it's not as prominent like in the past. Other than that, well the result is quite balanced (Between usual VN, BL, and otome).

Dreamysyu reacted to thelastsecret in Visual Novels and AI images – how terrible is it?
In October, I had announced here the making of the visual novel "Sweet Science" that would use entirely AI graphics. In the meanwhile, we have explored the possibilities and also the limitations of AI art quite throughly: from the utter failure of producing a simply cell phone pic to the beauty of an autumn forest generated by AI. – To cut a long story short: it mostly works! (More on that in my blog: https://the-last-secret.mozellosite.com/news/)
But judge by yourself: a pretty big demo for the game is already out there. You can test play it on itch (even simply in the browser): https://thelastsecret.itch.io/sweetscience
But it's more than an interesting experiment: The game offers a light-hearted and cozy story with lots of fun and surprises. Here is what critics say about it:

Dreamysyu got a reaction from ChaosRaven in Getchu Bishoujo Game Awards 2022
It's there, you know. Look at #6.
Honestly, I thought the same thing. I don't know, maybe some of these VNs are actually better than they seem from the descriptions, but so far the only VN from this list I find myself interested in is Tsui no Stella, and only because it's Key.

Dreamysyu reacted to littleshogun in Getchu Bishoujo Game Awards 2022
It's time for Getchu Awards again, even though it's later than usual. The winner for Getchu Awards 2022 here is Hentai Prison, and I'll list top 20 below. Oh yes, as usual you can view the source from this link.
1. Hentai Prison - Qruppo
2. Jewelry Hearts Academia -We will wing wonder world- - Cabbage Soft
3. Hamidashi Creative Totsu - Madosoft
4. Ambitious Mission - Saga Planets
5. Same to Ikiru Nanokakan - Cube
6. Tsui no Stella - Key
7. Unless Terminalia - Whirlpool
-
8. Motto! Haramase! Honoo no Oppai Isekai Oppai Maid Gakuen! - Milk Factory
9. Criminal Border: 1st Offence - Purple Software
10. Houkago Cinderella 2 - Hooksoft
11. Futamata Ren'ai - ASa Project
12. Anetomo - Atelier Kaguya Bare & Bunny
13. Study Steady 2 - Marmalade
14. Ao no Kanats no Four Rhythm EXTRA 2 - sprite
The after story for Misaki.
15. RE:D Cherish - CRYSTALiA
16. Amanatsu - Azarashi Soft
17. Role player: Tororo Shimai no Nenmaku Portrait - Gurigucha LIVE! - AKABEiSOFT2
18. Yuunagi-sou no S-kyuu no Kanojo-tachi - Moonstone Cherry
19. Tomodachi Kara Koibito e - Azarashi Soft
20. Mahou Senshi FINAL IGNITION - Triangle
Of course as usual we have the awards for each categories, and here's the best VNs for each categories.
Best Scenario: Hentai Prison Best Game System: Role player: Tororo Shimai no Nenmaku Portrait - Gurigucha LIVE! Best Graphic: Unless Terminalia Best Soundtrack: Jewelry Hearts Academia -We will wing wonder world- Best Movie: Hentai Prison Best Character: Izumi Hiyori from Hamidashi Creative Totsu Best Erotic Contents: Motto! Haramase! Honoo no Oppai Isekai Oppai Maid Gakuen! Well it's interesting to note that both of high rated VNs for both RAW and the translated version are happen to be fandisc, moreso with Aokana EXTRA2 is conveniently available for both sides with it currently has the best average score for translated VN in 2022 on VNDB, although the one who vote for Getchu are apparently prefer Hamidashi Creative Totsu (I still lament on how Sekai decide to release the main game in Chinese language first despite that it make sense from business perspective). Anyway once again I'll try to comment more on this later, but if anything else at least we'll going to have two VNs from top 20 being translated, with another VN is Tsui no Stella that Key already announced the localization of it.

Dreamysyu reacted to Shinyun226 in Recent (Japanese) Things You Have Purchased
Whole bunch of stuff I just got and added to my ever-growing backlist. Combination of two orders actually: Pretty much all the all-ages stuff is from Surugaya.com (Surugaya's overseas website), and then all the eroge were from Surugaya's japanese store (+ forwarding service).
Leaf stuff. Got both the 18+ and All-Ages/Playstation versions of ToHeart, 2 Leaf Fandiscs + the ToHeart (PSX) Famitsu guide. Normally I just go for the all-ages versions of games if available, but apparently the versions ToHeart are pretty different so, due to that + since it's a pretty historically relevant game, decided to get both. I was thinking about getting the ToHeart PSE (The PC port of the PSX version) to keep everything on the same platform, but I guess PSE uses the original PC version's OST instead of the PSX versions so... went with the PSX version. I'm going through Leaf's stuff in release order, so plan to play Kizuato before I touch any of this, but definitely looking forward to playing ToHeart.
Tactics/Key stuff: Dousei and Moon (renewal ver.) + volumes 1-5 of the Air Drama CD.
D.O. Games: Kazoku Keikaku and Kana Imouto PSP special editions + full voice version of Crescendo. Kana is a game I've been interested in getting for the better part of a decade, Kazoku Keikaku got my attention since Wakamoto Norio is in it, and then Crescendo was sort of spur-of-the-moment.
C's Ware: The Lost One, EVE ZERO and EVE TFA. Played Eve Burst error last year and absolutely loved it, so definitely wanted to continue the series. Also got 2 of the Burst Error Drama CDs (I believe there's 3 total/one more I'll have to track down)
NekoNeko Soft: White and Gin'Iro. I found out about Gin'Iro when searching for Utsuge, read good things about it + saw that it had music by MANYO so decided to get it. Figured since it was the 2nd game by NekoNeko Soft, it didn't feel right not also to get the first so I grabbed White as well.
AliceSoft: Ikusa Miko. This one was just kind of a random pick-up. I generally like raising sims and it was cheap + was a little surprised to find that AliceSoft actually made an all-ages game, so figured I'd grab it (You gotta buy in bulk from Surugaya's international shop if you want to make the shipping worth it so I always end up grabbing at least a few filler items lol)
KID: Filling in the gaps in my collection of MemoOff 1st and 2nd CharaSong Cds, a Tentama bonus disc of some sort (not 100% sure what it is yet edit: it's just a bunch of wallpapers and screensavers), Ever17 Drama CD + Soundtrack + CharacterSong singles (Haven't played Ever17 yet but it's next up on my KID game queue). Then the two remaining MemoOff 2nd heroine fanbooks I'm missing (Tsubame Sensei and Shizuru) + Tentama and Close to Fanbooks.
Aoishiro Drama CD. Haven't actually played Aoishiro yet (in fact I haven't even bought a copy of the game itself yet...) but I REALLY REALLY loved AkaiIto (and it's a Yurige either way) so it's something I absolutely plan to buy eventually. Drama CD is ready on standby for whenever I eventually get and play through the game lol
Misc CD's/goods: Tsundere Karuta and Tsundere Hyakunin Isshu, featuring Kugimiya Rie. Can't believe these exist, but I had to buy them the moment I spotted them. Don't think I'll ever actually find myself getting friends together to play Karuta, but definitely worth it for what amounts to a Kugyu Voice CD lol
Also got Kogado Studio's "Kiwami Karuta", the voice CD on this one featuring Takahashi Chiaki (presumably in character as Sukunesama from Solfege?)
Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha Blu-ray box: An Anime I've been planning to watch for the longest time. Honestly as a big Mizuki Nana fan, and a Yuri fan, this is something that I probably should have watched a long time ago
Various trash V-Cinema/Original Videos: Hiroshima Yakuza Sensou 1-4 (starring Ozawa Hitoshi), Hiroshima Yakuza Sensou Gaiden 1-2 (starring Endo Kenichi) and Hakuryu 1-2 (starring the actor Hakuryu as the titular character Hakuryu).
Box set for Morning Musume。's 72nd single. This was the reason I needed to use a forwarding service in the first place, and gave me an excuse to do some additional shopping at Surugaya's Japanese shop.

Dreamysyu reacted to eplipswich in Aiyoku no Eustia Translation Project (Partial Patch is Out!)
So, as of this post, the TLC is finally 100% complete. Yes, finally haha. So sorry for the very long delay, but with my new job and all as mentioned before and some lack of motivation, I haven't had much time for TLC. But now, with the TLC complete, we can finally almost see the light at the end of the tunnel.
So what does this mean? Of course, it's still not quite done yet because we have 1 more stage to go through: the QC. This one, I won't be able to tell the estimated time this will be done, but hopefully it can be completed by this year so we can finally release this patch to the public.
Once again, thank you all for those who are still sticking around. We're almost there!

Dreamysyu reacted to Plk_Lesiak in Winter 2023 Anime Discussion
So, I was dead for like a month and a half, but The Magical Revolution brought me back to life. I was waiting so long for a yuri show that would be genuinely fun and to the point, and holy crap, Anis really does not beat around the bush, she goes straight for the goal. I really hope for like two seasons of this and the romance blooming properly, it will be my dream anime at that point.
Also, what a weird, isekai-filled season. Not sure how much of it I'll end up watching, instead of catching up on my backlog for example, but I'll definitely stick with Reborn to Master the Blade, seems like a really fun, lighthearted show that will benefit a lot from the adaptation into anime.
And then, despite the meh CGI, I was quite impressed with the first two episodes of Nier: Automata. I feel like the authors are fully aware that they won't be able to fully present the complexities of the original, so they focus on showing its emotional impact and tone. The episode two in particular wasn't afraid to give a lot of time to a semi-random side story about the machines, from what I heard taken from some spin-off media and not the game itself, but which was extremely artistic and wonderfully established the moral complexities and cruel nature of the setting. Not sure how easily someone completely unfamiliar with the original would follow (I didn't play it, but I read a lot about its story), but it seems like something even random viewers should appreciate for the creativity and vibes.
