  1. Well, it depends. I understand that they want to create a clear border between what is a VN and what isn't. A database needs to have some clear rules for what counts as its part and what doesn't, because otherwise it might lead to some complications in the future. On the other hand, I don't particularly object against expanding these borders a bit. To a reasonable degree, of course. And, you know, even then some people will be unhappy.
  2. To make a compromise with Phoenix Wright, you can include it as an extra and not count it as one of the 50.
  3. How... exactly did you manage do that??? Is there some secret to it I don't know?
  4. Kind of. As I've already said, there are some scenes that aren't in the VN, and they reference some characters from F/Z.
  5. Well, some people say that FSN spoils FZ ending, though I completely disagree with them, and would argue that the ending was meant to be known from the beginning, and it actually makes it better, in some sense. On the other hand... If you go through Fate without reading the original VN, there is no correct watching order, because none of them actually give a full experience of some plot points. Basically, I don't see any sense in watching the original FSN anime. I tried at some point, but it was pretty bad and I basically dropped it at the second episode. Also, people say it spoils some important aspects of both UBW and HF. On the other hand, the later anime (at least, the canon ones) were made in a way that they assume that you've already watched everything that was made before that point. UBW anime has tons of references to FZ that don't exist in the VN, and to a person who doesn't know FZ yet they would make zero sense (though they aren't very good anyway).
  6. Well, Fate/Zero already spoiled many of these revelations, sadly.
  7. Well, for me it started in 2013. I watched Clannad anime, and I really liked it back then. I looked up a Wikipedia page for it and learned that it was based on a visual novel. So, after I watched the other Key anime, I decided to read later VNs by them that weren't adapted yet, namely Rewrite and Little Busters. And, well, I liked the format and I found several other VNs on vndb that interested me, but I can't say I was hooked back then. I watched several anime adaptations of other VNs, and I still regret that with Steins;Gate, because it's the only reason that I haven't read the VN for it yet. Then I read Umineko. And, well, here I am now. As for the barrier of entry... Surprisingly, I never actually had one. I would expect to have one with h-scenes, but the only 18+ VN I finished in my first year of reading them was Air, and it's pretty low on sexual content, and I basically skipped all the h-scenes. It also helped that back then I didn't know how far some VNs actually go with their sexual content. If I encountered something like Subahibi or Saya no Uta back then, I'd probably avoid the whole genre like plague. PS. And, by the way, Clannad was only about a fifth anime I ever watched.
  8. "A dumb choice" seems a bit inappropriate in case of Fate because some of the 'right' choices on a first glance look dumber than the ones that lead to bad ends (I can't remember the examples, but I remember it happening at least a few times). Also, I tried playing Fata Morgana in more or less the same way, and it was pretty fun. Depends on a VN, really.
  9. It depends on how much I like the VN in question and how difficult are the bad endings to reach, but usually I prefer to read them.
  10. Apparently, fuwanovel(dot)org now redirects to some site that tries to install adware on your PC, and I discovered it accidentally clicking an old link (doesn't work in https). I know, nobody is going to check all the old topics and change the links, but is it, perhaps, possible to do something automatically? I know, some forums don't allow linking the sites of their competitors, for example.
  11. By the way, if you want recommendations, it might be a good idea to make a vndb account and mark the VNs you've already finished. Considering the stuff you've mentioned as your favorites, I recommend When They Cry series (Higurashi and Umineko).
  12. For example, they realize that their final work is shit and needs to be redone from the beginning. Or, maybe, an important person for the project management suddenly disappears due to rl, and it all falls apart.
  13. Amane is great. But I still like all the other heroines more. She has the best route though.
  14. >>>>. Though Grisaia is a rare VN where I more or less like all heroines. Also, you could make a poll, you know.
  15. I can't agree with that. Things happen. And some people loose interest.
  16. Fuwanovel sure became pretty active again.
  17. They will most likely just drop the fundraising by then. Why would they gather money for so long if they can use it for other and more promising projects?
  18. By the way, it's the best channel on Youtube.
  19. Hi! Welcome to Fuwa! Don't worry, I was also pretty shy when I registered here, but it kind of went away with time.
  20. Perfect conclusion to another sh... I mean, great thread. Welcome to Fuwa, by the way. As you've probably already realized, we like cute "boys" here.
  21. Happy birthday, @Eclipsed, @Shikomizue!
