  1. So, I tried watching the first episode of More than a married couple, but not lovers. And it was so cringe. The premise is completely nonsensical, and the characters left pretty awful first impression.
  2. Ahem. Reincarnated as a villainess is literally an entire genre in web-novels and light novels, and while Hamefura is one of the earlier ones and did inspire a lot of the other works, it's far from the first one. The first web-version came out in 2014, while there are some similar novels that started in 2013, like It Seems Like I Got Reincarnated Into The World of a Yandere Otome Game, or I Will Live with Humility and Dependability as My Motto.
  3. Well, I am. Anyway, I've watched the current episodes of Bocchi the Rock, and it was pretty good. I've never really watched any music-based anime, so I don't really have anything to compare it to, but so far it's been pretty enjoyable, and the comedy is gold. As someone who also suffers from pretty strong social anxiety, I like how they presented the protagonist. It's overly exaggerated, of course, but I did find myself in many of her antics, and it didn't feel particularly offensive like how often Japanese comedy tends to be. On the other hand, she does grow throughout the show, but obviously she still has a long way to go.
  4. I've read the first two volumes of the LN, and it was slightly boring, but generally pretty good.
  5. As long as you don't get any substantial amount of money from it, it will always be "just" a hobby. This, however, does not devalue our experience with them in any way.
  6. Oh, I wasn't talking about this story in particular. As little as I remember about the original novel, I'm pretty sure she was definitely not like that. I was mostly just rambling about the villainess genre in general and why I don't follow it as closely as I used to. On the other hand, there are still a lot of really good and creative stories there. And, well, even among stories that follow that formula there are some enjoyable ones. On another note, have you watched Bibliophile Princess from this season? I'm pretty curious about what people think about this one.
  7. I liked the first season of Bakarina, but when it ended I realized that I wouldn't watch the second season, nor read the original. I just felt that the first season did everything that it could with the setting, and the continuation wouldn't add anything new to it. To be honest though, when it comes to LNs and manga, villainess stories at this point are just as overdone as regular littpg isekais. Usually it's just the same story over and over again: the villainess is actually a literal angel, but nobody understands that; the original heroine is a complete sadistic bitch, and the original love interests are just idiots. Though there are some decent ones as well.
  8. Huh, so it's actually good? I remember trying to read the fan translation of the web novel version way before it got the official translation. And either it didn't give the original justice, or it just wasn't my thing, so I dropped it pretty quickly. That's why I got really surprised that this one was one of the few villainess novels that got an anime.
  9. I mean, I like the character art, but I generally don't add VNs to my list based only on the art. Actually, I recalled that you could look up when each VN was added to your list, and it seems that I added this one in 2017, so maybe it got reviewed by someone I followed back then and I found the review mildly interesting.
  10. For some reason it's in my vndb wishlist, but I honestly can't remember why I put it there. Does anyone know anything about this game?
  11. So it's actually bad, huh? For some reason, I don't hear anyone talking about this anime.
  12. Probably licensing issues. If I remember correctly, Planetarian HD was published by Visual Arts directly, while the regular English version was done by Sekai Project.
  13. My experience with Japanese and Korean fiction says that this plan always fails miserably.
  14. Does not seem to be true for LNs. There are quite a few of companies missing in the list. They did get a lot more popular in the recent years.
  15. I mean, they are pretty good VNs anyway even if you are not a beginner. They are different enough from the usual stuff to be interesting, and there are things they do quite well, especially the second part (the first one is mostly the introduction to the series as a whole).
  16. Yeah, for some reason nobody is talking about it. I've seen that it was released, but I haven't tried it yet.
  17. Kind of off-topic, but recently I started reading some English-original web-novels, and I really enjoyed this one. I thought that you may like it as well. The MC there is somewhat contradictory: being a demon stuck among people, she does have some pretty unique values, and while she is mostly self-centered with the exception of small set of companions she really cares about, she still ends up helping others a lot. I thought her character and how it changes through the novel was extremely well, done, and that's probably the main reason why I enjoyed this novel. She is also pretty hilarious.
  18. Yeah, I've seen some similar criticism for the LN. I used to be interested in this title, but these points make me think that it's probably not worth watching/reading.
  19. Perhaps it was available on vnds in the past? I'm not sure if vndb still shows vnds ports. Air was actually the first vn with h-scenes that I played. It was definitely a very weird experience. Especially with how out of place most of them were. Ps. Also, I remember reading somewhere that originally Air was supposed to be an all-ages vn, and the h-scenes were added at the very last moment.
