Since we already have the exact release date announcement, rather than make another thread I decided to bump mod Clephas thread in regard of this. To me it's definitely the good news here, so I would wait until July 12th later. Feel free to talk what expectation (Or experience) that you have in regard of Hapymaher. Oh, and here's the tweet from Mangagamer for the proof below.

If you can go dark, Gore Screaming Show has a very good route with an older woman character.

Read a few years ago, nice little yuri game. More nukige than not in my opinion, but enough non-sex stuff to make it a worthwhile purchase for all yuri lovers.

In the end I'll probably go with Chrono Clock or Kindred Spirits, I think.

Well, both SonoHana 11 and New Gen! are much more expansive than the older games. They're still mostly fluff, but with higher amount of SoL cuteness in relation to porn and, in both cases, with something loosely resembling an overarching plotline tying it all together.
And, TBF, Kindred Spirits are also about the couples and interactions between the girls rather than about any kind of linear plot, so, in a way, they all offer a similar experience.

I have read bad things about KonoOozora's translation. How is it?
Wagamama High Spec looks interesting too.
This looks interesting and the kind of title I was looking for.
Yuri is love, Yuri is life.
Early SonoHana titles were mostly fluffy nukiges thoug. How is this one? I'd like something with a proper structure.
I had Kindred Spirits on my radar for a while, will definitely consider it.

    Thanks everyone for the advice!

Overlord87 got a reaction from Dreamysyu in How old is "old" for a VN?
A good story is a good story, so I really don't understand why a good VN should age badly. It's like saying a novel from 1800 is bad just because it's old. Nonsense.
If we're talking moege, then things are different of course. Increased graphic quality can definitely help there, along with other general improvements. Same should work for nukige. But those are title that most likely weren't really good to begin with, and you'd read them only for entertainment value, and then obviously if faced with a choice you'd pick a more modern title of the same kind.

Some of the greatest VNs I've read definitely changed me. MuvLuv, Sharin no Kuni, Cross Channel are the first that come to mind. It applies to all kind of great stories though.
And it doesn't have to be a radical or immediate change. Maybe years down the line you'll be faced with a choice, or a situation, and you'll think of that VN/book/movie/etc. and it will have an impact on your actions.

They're just like our lives, superficial, pointless things, spawned from ill-placed passions and ultimately futile. Meaningless in the scope of the universe and faint even within the span of human history. Why do we even bother?

Overlord87 reacted to Dreamysyu in What VN do personally find enjoyable but find hard to recommend/convince people to try
Well, I regret my previous post now. I completely forgot that people who haven't read MLA yet might read it. Oh, well. Let me try to convince you that after all things people write you should at least give this series a chance.
First of all, I think, you shouldn't trust my and other people's opinions on Muv-Luv Extra too much. It's a comedy, the most relative of all VN genres, and if it didn't work for me, it doesn't mean it won't work for you. There are plenty of people who say they enjoyed it. Also, the current translation is definitely much better than the one I was reading, so you should also take that into account. Just don't go for any of the side routes, at least before you finish the main one. They have some relevant information to Alternative, but it isn't very important, and the only side route I read was simply bad. I'd say, go for the main route first (Sumika+Meya, they divide by the end, but essentially it's the same route), then, if you really feel like it, try one or several of the side routes, then get the second ending of the main route (for a different girl) and then continue with Unlimited. Essentially, you only need to read the main route (and it isn't particularly long), but if you are really bored at some point, I don't really see any problem if you start ctrl-skipping some parts.
As for Unlimited, I don't really get most criticism for it. Sure, it's worse than Alternative, but I still enjoyed it. And the ending is pretty good. And Alternative, yes, it's simply that good. Again, I can't guarantee that you'll enjoy it, because there are plenty of people who didn't (and some of them are pretty toxic about it). You say that you enjoy utsuge, and this is definitely a plus, but, again, I can't say anything for sure. But there's a very good reason why it's the highest rated VN on VNDB. I can say it that way: it is simply the most emotional VN I've ever read before. All Key VNs are nothing compared to MLA. They simply make you cry, while MLA makes you come through a range of completely emotions, leaving you completely exhausted in the end. It also gives you an alternate history world with extremely though out history and political situation, and I actually found myself thinking that, yeah, if the world is attacked by aliens at some point, these are the things that could possibly happen. Also, I really don't want to accidentally spoil anything, but I'll say it this way: I loved Extra by the end of Alternative. That's it.
And no, I don't' think it matters if you enjoy mecha or not.

Overlord87 reacted to Kabu in Has Moege Ever Improved Your Life?
Indirectly I suppose. Moege can actually have a lot of little lessons about living the day to day that can help out in a stressful situation, and they themselves are also great stress relievers, being light and fluffy.
They also inspired me to start Moege February, where I shall read only Moege (and maybe an occasional Charage) in defiance of those who would defy us.

Sure, moege and moe in general has improved my life. Nothing groundbreaking, I don't think it ever teached me any life lesson, but still, the little things can help too. Knowing that something can make you laugh and lift your spirit can be priceless at times.

Overlord87 got a reaction from the tales of Sora in When do you consider a VN to be "finished" in your read-through?
Simply put, it's completed when I'm satisfied with it. Usually I do all the routes, but especially for moe/sol VNs, sometimes I don't find all the heroines likable and so I don't play their routes.
For action, mistery, drama, etc., all plot-driven titles, I usually play all the routes, although that's not really written in stone (for example, in G-Senjou no Maou I entirely skipped the imouto route and the silver-haired girl route).

One? Technically speaking, Muv-Luv Alternative, but you would also need to read the two prequels, so it would not qualify as one.
So I'd go with Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo. It has its issues, but it touched my soul in a way I would not have believed possible.
