Sterilizing content for consoles will just push people towards PC.  This segmentation of content targeted at adults vs. a general audience already exists in the Japanese market.  Sucks if you own a console, but for PC gamers this just makes it more likely that the games you want to play will be available on Steam.  Given that PC games are usually cheaper than console games, are more likely to get deep discounts, and don't require investment in fixed-function hardware, that's a net positive.  If Sony wants to shift away from adult gaming, then my response is, "Don't let the door hit you on the way out."

Yes, because you applied it only locally. If you install game from steam on different computer, it will install basic version.
That's for unofficial patches, like Konosora retranslation patch. Maybe it's different if mod is on steam itself, but if it's 3rd party, then you have to apply it manually each time.

What conclusion we draw about this? Regardless of translation quality people will never be happy, period.

For newcomers I recommend choosing one of the early weapons and stick with it through the whole game. See what weapon works best with your playstyle. Equipment also has weight, so depending if you choose light/heavy/medium weight equipment your character will have slower or faster movement capabilities. Which class to choose at the start of the game I would recommend the pyromancer as it start in level 1 and gives you more points to spend in stats, it comes with a good spell early on too. Something to keep in mind, is that spending point in resistance is almost useless so you might want to avoid doing it.

Learning new things is all good and everything but by going with that reasoning then clearly we have a big problem. By going with the logic that everyone who is a fan of something should learn the native language is not logical, what if you are a fan of many different things? Imagine someone who likes both russian and spanish songs, will you tell them to learn both languages just because they are a fan? Translation were meant to facilitate this process, besides not everyone has the meanings, time nor money to spend for buying expensive books or committing themselves to do a course.

Telling people why they shouldn't learn something they clearly care about is even more retarded imo. 
I don't go around telling stamp collectors that spending money on stamps is stupid. Because it's what they enjoy doing. Similarly, learning a language can serve multiple purposes, and neither of those purposes is wrong (well, I guess if you're learning a language to join a terrorist organization, that might not be so great). 

In my opinion, this is just one massive circlejerk among the self-entitled and the privileged. On one hand, you have the Steam community who complains about the overpriced VNs even though they fork out thousands of dollars every year for pre-order exclusives and pointless DLC skins, getting ripped off by companies like Blizzard and Activision. On the other hand, I could understand where some of the more sensible complaints might be coming from. Considering Steam is famous for giving special discounts for old AAA games like Witcher 2 and whatnot, I can see why some people might just be a tad surprised at the prices of VNs when they have no prior knowledge how much a visual novel costs in Japan. I mean, let's be fair - this isn't f***ing Japan. This is Steam, comprised of mostly Americans and non-Japanese.
So if you want to support your favorite VN companies for the goal of 'securing the future of visual novels', then go right ahead and fork out all your money. More power to your privileged ass. But people on Steam are going to complain about the pricing regardless because that's what they've been doing throughout their time spent on Steam due to what Steam represents - massive discounts, getting games at a cheap price for the underprivileged.
Is it a problem for localized VNs when people aren't willing to pay for the prices of said localization? Probably yes. But IMO, if you chose Steam (choked full of Steam sales every month) for the sake of earning a profit, you probably chose the wrong client there, pal.

Don't understimate the power of cannon fodder, it's a vital strategy.... In strategy games.

It seems only when it is convenient for certain people. Regardless I don't play 18+ anyway so this news are at least good for me. 

Now it's all a matter of waiting for the complaints regarding sex scenes being removed and the translation sucking so much it disrespects every author in the world.

When have people been so sensibly regarding jokes? Many medium make fun about basically everything. We have things like family guy and southpark which have many inappropriate jokes in their show which are quite offensive but that doesn't necessarily mean they have to take it down. Reminds about naughty dog removing donut drake from uncharted 4 because suddenly they think they are superior and all over the top, they clearly can't make fun of fat people it is offensive! Yeah right.
