How many times has fuwanovel gone down and we're not sure what's happening?
Not only that, but we're left with no way to shitpost our memes and spam the forums. Things just can't stay this way.
Well I have come up with the perfect solution for this problem: fuwanovel.rip !
fuwanovel.rip, if it were to exist, would be a tracking website that lets you know if fuwanovel is down.
"Can't you just use sites like this for that purpose already?" well, yes, you can, but fuwanovel.rip is not JUST a tracking website.
Here are the features I believe would truly make fuwanovel.rip something we MUST obtain:
Every time you refresh the page, a random fuwanovel meme image appears. This is to ensure fuwanovel members can get their meme fix even when fuwanovel is down. There will also be a random quote from forums showing up, to remind you of how great fuwanovel is. Post selection will be done with the help of fuwanovel_txt In case there's no sign of fuwanovel being up, there will also be a selection of great videos that will randomly appear so you can be entertained while you wait. More features can be added with the input from our community as well so we can make fuwanovel.rip a second home when fuwanovel.net is down.
Let's not let our memes be dreams, let's make them come true. I'm sure @Tay and @Nayleen can understand how vital the implementation of this idea is.

The cutoff usually rises a lot on the last day, especially in MedFes and SM where it's just straight points being earned from playing, and not having to grind tokens. Looking at the Reddit prediction that is generally very accurate, the cutoff was a little crazy, since it beat the prediction by over 2k.

Being active on both the forums and fuwazette made me realize that right now, Fuwanovel has two entirely separate sides, and they don't interact with each other or even really share a user base at all. So I decided what would help most in getting forum users to care about front-page stuff and front-page users to care about forum stuff is complete integration. This obviously won't be easy, but, the absolute ideal scenario would be no separate comment fields for fuwazette articles, creating an article also creates a thread in the forums and the comments/posts are the same. Same with reviews. And going further, comments in the front-page VN database would work similarly. You could make a comment thread that really just makes a forum thread tagged for that game. The way I envision this, is that there is just a "discussions" section in each game entry that shows a list of threads on fuwanovel about that game. And anyone who makes a thread on the forums tagged with that game has it show up there. I imagine that none of this would be easy, I'm just going with pie in the sky ideas here.
The one thing our front page can do that other sites lack is easily comprehensible translation information and status. Basically, I believe people would actually use it if we could replicate most of the functionality of the now-defunct http://vntls.org/. At some point, this was in the plans. I still think it's a very good idea.

But, like, how does one determine how many votes "most" votes is? The staff could arbitrarily cut off options that don't suit their own preferences, or lower the margin significantly to include ones that do. This is a faux democracy. You're all letting the bourgeoisie pull the strings under the illusion of equal power. It won't take many more tips of the scale before the greed of the capitalist establishment manifests itself in the eyes of the proletariat.
