I think the reaction to Decay's post is more about how he said what he said and not so much about blind worship or anything of that sort.

This kind of thinking is so toxic to the whole world not just the visual novel community ....you are just a resentful little man, lashing out words of discouragement, with so much hate on them... it's actually pathetic and frightening to see someone saying this kind of things and BELIEVING them, yes the worst thing is that you believe in what you are saying...

Who are you to judge the "standard" of fan translations and saying that he doesn't even meet the so called "low standards"?

He doesn't need any standards and sure as hell doesn't owe YOU or anyone here NOTHING, if the company at some point decides that they don't t want his translation they would do so as many companies have done in the past but until then you are no one to judge his work or say anything to him, specially not in the way you are saying it.

Isn't that basically humanity at the moment though? Or at least western culture since I can't comment on things that happen in other languages and cultures. 
Also as for the topic, while it sucks that this guy spent a bunch of time translating the game and hes not getting anything out of it, I don't see anything that SP did necessarily. Maybe they could have given him a heads up before hand to tell him they were licensing the game and weren't interested in hiring him for the translation or couldn't due to something Giga wanted or whatever the case is, but maybe they didn't know until recently? I mean I just don't see a way this is all SP's fault.

This was ... interesting. Obviously the guy making free patches is in the wrong, but the absolutely childish behavoir from the SP guy is really pathetic to look at. And the fact that he does it openly to the public makes it 10x worse. 
As for the price of the H-content, honestly, I don't care. I want the game the way it was meant to be played, and I'll pay whatever price they put it down for. At least it means we don't have a censored release like G-senjou again when they make patches, even if you have to pay extra for it. FrontWing just did the same thing with Corona Blossom, so it's not just SP.
