  1. Or at the very least, a thread named "VNs you'd like to see translated". I was, in fact, thinking of making one like that earlier this week.
  2. Some monochrome-coat this time. I haven't listened to much of their stuff, but this one is nice.
  3. UPDATE: RTK1 (4th ed.) - 960/2042 (+39) Whoo, almost there! I missed a day due to getting home late from work, but I think that 10's a nice pace. I'm not getting overwhelmed with reviews and it still feels like nice progress, so yeah. Also, I don't think anyone would care but regarding the "person" kanji (人), Heisig says that you should think of a specific person to use as the meaning of the primitive, since "person" is a word that can appear pretty often in any kanji's story. So I decided to use Shin Megami Tensei III's Demi-Fiend. Not only is he the most badass character in any game I can think of, his japanese name, Hitoshura (人修羅) includes the kanji. So yeah. I think I'll be updating every monday from now on for the weekly updates.
  4. Ok, so I'm really anal when it comes to organization, and to be honest right now the forum is a mess. Let's look at the current layout: So yeah... there are a couple of problems here. Most noticeable is how the anime, manga, videogame and other media discussions are all in the same subforum, which can be quite confusing. Not to mention that both that subforum and the one for introductions are in the section labeled Visual Novel Discussion. Technical help for VNs and site feedback being grouped together could be confusing as well, though I haven't visited that subforum too much so I dunno how it is. And some sections are really unnecessary - you could probably move the tech problems/feedback subforum to Fuwanovel Discussion and- Well, you know what, I'll just show what I had in mind. Ah yes, that's much better. Well, at least I think so. Comments? Suggestions?
  5. My first was the GBA Love Hina one. This was before I even knew anything about anime or manga at all, much less visual novels, and I don't really remember anything other than the timed choices, so I don't really consider it my first. Years later, I tried Yume Miru Kusuri out after seeing a thread on /v/ about it. I loved it, but it really was Fate/stay night that cemented my love for visual novels forever. Still, I hold YMK in a special place in my memories, and I'd like to reread it someday.
  6. Ah yes... Xenosaga III easily has the best music in the three games. Yuki Kaijura never disappoints. Anyway, here's some Syrufit.
  7. Whoa, this looks amazing! I'll be checking this out for sure. I've always liked flight sim games (Rogue Squadron, Ace Combat, etc.) and things IN SPACE can only be better than their earthly counterparts, so yeah. And of course, there's also the fact that this has GIANT ROBOTS! Everything is better with GIANT ROBOTS.
  8. I've been checking out a lot of Shibayan Records' stuff recently, as well as Syrup Comfiture's. They both have some really amazing stuff (and I never thought I'd be listening to electronic music). I'll put up some more of their stuff later... oh, and check everyone else's stuff too, of course.
  9. Oh yay, Dota 2! I only started a while ago and haven't played much yet due to lack of time (especially now that I got a job), but it was really fun, and certainly a game that I'd like to play more of. Didn't really get into any heroes yet but I was looking at Doombringer and Skeleton King. But well, since there's so many people here that play it, why don't we take the opportunity and make a Fuwan Steam group as well? (this applies to Tay and Ryoji too). My Steam name is Moonside.
  10. UPDATE: RTK1 (4th ed.) - 921/2042 (+20) Didn't have much time yesterday but I did a few more today to make up for it. Otherwise, doing good so far. Also, I have never written "wheat" so many times before.
  11. Hmm, I had heard about timeboxing before, but never tried it for some reason. I think I'll try it out tomorrow. Anyway, two decks at the same time sounds really crazy :E Good luck!
  12. That site does indeed look pretty interesting, and I'd also like to hear how you end up doing with it. Anyway, I also hope that your book arrives on time. Keep it up!
  13. Just looking over Ghostlight's site makes me imagine that they're really cool guys (just like Atlus USA, heh), so I'm pretty excited for this too. JRPGs are always nice, and not many of them are ever released for PC, so I'll certainly vote for this as well!
  14. Damn, Akanashi's art is so amazing. I should look up more of her stuff. Also, DAT HAIR. Bah, I should also pick up TWGOK again too... Elsie is adorable.
  15. That's really good! Keep it up, and I hope your wife gets better soon too!
  16. All remixes are small time compared to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fgtxb9yBggc.
  17. 深崎暮人 is Misaki Kurehito, and 黒谷忍 is Kuroya Shinobu. Dunno about the third person though, but it seems that they did the SD stuff. Misaki did that wallpaper, but both him and Kuroya are my heroes. Pretty much everything that they draw ever is just so perfect and beautiful and oh my god.
  18. UPDATE: RTK1 (4th ed.) - 901/2042 (+10) わぁい! Finally broke the 900 mark, after months of doing nothing! Haha. Well, I guess I'll be going with 10 or 15 per day, so the 1000 mark is close!
  19. Yaaay, here's the thing. Hopefully I'll be able to get back to this this year, even if it's only a little per day. Goal 1: Learn all of the kanji this year. Goal 2: Start studying grammar/immersion. Study Time: Sometime from 19:00 to 22:00. Current Progress: RTK1 (4th ed.) - 891/2042 RTK3 - 0/1159 Yeah I ended up stealing Tay's OP layout too lol. Will be updating for the first time in a couple of hours, hopefully.

    Persona

Yay, Persona! I'm a huge fan of the Shin Megami Tensei series, to the point that it's probably one of my favorites... and of course, Persona is no exception. I started with Eternal Punishment, then went on to FES and 4. Haven't played Innocent Sin for some reason, though I really want to play the PSP remakes (as well as P3P and Golden). Also really looking forward to 5, and I'm hoping for some more news on it this year... By the way, I'm pretty sure that Imagining Project is a fan-made thing.
  21. That's assuming that it even ends up having h-scenes, which I actually doubt, considering Realta Nua and Mahoyo... but yeah, it would've been hilarious, haha.
  22. Yeah, I think you misunderstood my question. I'm not asking if grammar is necessary to speak a language; I know that it is. I'm asking if the best way to learn it is through studying, instead of just like, immersion (since that's how I learned all the english I know).
  23. Pretty much everything in this one-shot. Or just plain everything that Namori ever makes, really!
  24. Very nice thread, Tay! (etc. etc.) I think I'll be joining too. I had started RTK1 4th ed. last year, using kanji.koohii.com for the reviews, but ended up stopping with the new kanji due to various circumstances (though I still do the reviews every day). I was going at a rather slow pace since I didn't want to get overwhelmed with 200 reviews in a single day, and was at almost 900 kanji. Plus this'll help me remember to check this forum more often too :\ Anyway, one thing I had been wondering about is, just how necessary is the study of grammar? I ask because to be honest I'm really iffy on the idea of studying grammar, and also because I learned english just fine through videogames/internet/etc. without ever touching grammar. Though considering how different japanese is, I don't know exactly what to think here. Thoughts?
