I don't really trust SP for future titles tbh.
I prefer MangaGamer a lot more with their titles. I also honestly prefer if SP asked which games would we like translated rather than ask for a company since I can't really think of some from the top of my head.

    Hello everyone.

Before going into the project, here's some information regarding the game:
    - Kami no Rhapsody (https://vndb.org/v16341) is a VN/SRPG hybrid by the company Eushully, the same company that made Kamidori Alchemy Meister.
    - Sypnosis (taken from VNDB, with some changes made to go with our translation patch):

    Translation team: Rhapsody Translation
    Team Members:
     - Translator: FlamePaladin
     - Translation Checker: Danywar, Dark_Gamer
     - Editor: Vuken, Yuuko Shionji
     - Image Editor: Nylios, hubb2001, Bilbael, pegg
We have a full team atm, but if you want to join us, please send me a message or post in this thread. Thank you ^^.

    Special thanks:
    - Huang Yin Ling and maefdomn for their very useful threads.
    - binaryfail for helping me find the tools to work on this patch.
    - SaintLouisX, asmodean and Aroduc for their tools.
    - Special thanks to Kirashi for motivating me to work on this patch, and for the feedback. I really appreciate it.
    - Special thanks to Mr Poltroon for your work as an editor in this project. Though it was short, I really appreciate your help ^^.
    - Special thanks to Danywar. Thank you very much for joining the team as the Translation Checker. I'll be counting on you a lot from now on .
    - Special thanks to glupak. Thank you very much for everything you've done for the project. I really appreciate it ^^.
    - Special thanks to Vuken. Thank you very much for joining as our Editor. Tbh, I don't even know if you're in this forums lol. In any case, I'll be counting on you to make our patch readable XD.
    - Special thanks to nylios. Thank you very much for joining the team. I'll be counting on you for a lot of things, so prepare yourself .
    - Special thanks to hubb2001. Thank you very much for joining us as our image editor. I'll be counting on you for the images XD.
    - Special thanks to pegg and Bilbael. Thank you very much for joining us as our image editors. Let's do our best to make the complete patch a reality! XD
    - Special thanks to Yuuko Shionji and Dark_Gamer. Thank you for joining as our TLC-er and editor. Let's make this patch the best it can be XD.

Finally, here's the link to the full patch:
    MEGA link: https://mega.nz/#F!MstRHI6S!bQVaRTSLnwQPNjYuCJKfpw
The full patch has been released. However, there are still some minor texts that I couldn't find, so they're still untranslated. With that said, they're just some minor texts and won't impact your experience with the game.
Do note that our patch does not include any of the game updates, so you'll have to update them separately. All of the game's updates and appends are translated in our patch though.
Now, with the release of this patch, we won't be focusing on KnR anymore. The patch also won't get update unless there are some game-breaking bugs. Instead, we'll now focus on our other projects.
With that said, please contact us if you encounter crash or any other problem. We'll try to fix it as soon as possible (and if it's related to our patch XD).

This is everything from me for now. If you took your time to read that wall of text, thank you very much. Even if you didn't, thank you for showing enough interest to click on the thread.

    See you!

jetpack003 got a reaction from bakauchuujin in How many people cares for physical copies?
In Australia's case (where I'm from) custom just likes to do whatever they want when they check things. Once they see something related to pornography then they'll get on your case.
If you're one of the unlucky ones, they'll open your stuff up and look inside it. That's what they did to one of my character figures, RIP for those who want it in mint condition.

jetpack003 got a reaction from bakauchuujin in How many people cares for physical copies?
I love getting physical copies because it makes you feel that you own the game by holding it in your hands. Whenever a game comes out as a special edition, you can bet your ass to the bank that I'll be in line to get it. Even if the stuff inside is only a toy or an artbook that you only look at once, I'll still get it.
Visual novels on the other hand is a touchy topic especially in countries that like to censor crap. Although I do want to buy a physical copy of the games I like, I've heard horror stories of people getting their stuff reported by customs and banning them. I've also heard in some cases, that it can get worse than that.
So yeah, in this case I'd rather buy a digital copy for an 18+ VN or just buy a physical copy of the all-ages version then download the 18+ patch. Better safe than sorry.

Some of Nekonyan translators were well known translator, so you didn't need to worry about machine translation here. Although I'm quite worry though with a lot of job for them there, but perhaps they may find a way to solve that.
As for me, both of those were quite well known even when untranslated and a lot of request were given to the company. So it's nice to see that finally we got those two to be translated, especially in regard of Aokana in which it's been cursed even since Ren's outburst after he 'accidentally' delete the scripts (More like half a year after that though). Too bad though that Sekai didn't get Aokana, because I still think that Astro was the one who deserved to localized his friend's hard work lol, but it's not like I'll have the problem with whoever will translate this in the first place though. For the last word here, good luck to the team and hopefully the work will going well.

jetpack003 reacted to adamstan in Nekonyan's Two August Announcements
Well, IMHO Fureraba's TL was rather good. Editing would benefit from some more QC, as there were some typos and misspellings (like "other <> over" ), and of course the style is matter of taste, but it reads smoothly.
  7. Thanks
jetpack003 reacted to Mr Poltroon in Nekonyan's Two August Announcements
NekoNyanSoft are relatively new. They translated and released Fureraba back in March. Their next release will be Sanoba Witch this October. They do translate and sell VNs and they're handled by some native staff, though a lot of them are actually based in Europe. None of the machine translation nonsense, but they haven't put out many titles themselves to judge by. Only Fureraba thus far.
At any rate, they have seven projects thus far, and a lot of them are popular stuff.

Translation got up to around 900 lines this week. Really proud of the guys for keeping this rate up. The second pass edit for the prologue patch should be done soon enough and the patch itself will ideally be out in the very near future, so look out for that.
We are still looking for a permanent TLC to work on this project. Please PM me if you're interested in working as a TLC for this project.

jetpack003 got a reaction from Zander in Reading VNs on the Nintendo Switch
    Yup, definitely.
VNs are quite popular on the portable consoles since I've always seen releases of them on the PSP and the Vita. Now that Sony doesn't want to focus on portable consoles these days as well as Nintendo being open to third-party titles, we'll probably be seeing VNs on the Switch a fair bit now.
It may take a while for other third-party publishers to get on board though since many before were quite suspect about the Switch's potential and Nintendo's previous policy about it being a "family console". Some companies are already on board with ecchi games since we've got Senran Kagura and Gal Gun 2 on it.
As for me reading VNs on it, I don't really mind. I sometimes use my laptop to read VNs before going to bed so if the VNs are on the Switch, things would be even more convenient. It'll be like reading a book, lol. However, I'd still have my policy that if I buy VNs on the Switch then the original game would have to be an all-ages version from the start. If the game originally had 18+ content which got cut for the Switch version then I would buy it on the PC instead.

Thanks. Things just need to be redone and reworked. A botched TL project shouldn't stay a botched one.
The quality is not up to snuff and the last thing I personally want is to be looked down upon because we aren't getting paid or are considered "n00bs".
Both official and unofficial TL projects require weeks and weeks of work for very little in return, especially in real life.
It's demoralizing and tedious at times both with the team and as individuals. We could quit, but those would just be excuses for our own selfish reasons.
Nobody gets rich off of doing this and it's not exactly something I want on a resume for a job offline.
It's more than "just a hobby" when people are counting on you to deliver a translation deserving of VNs as a whole.

For how long we've been working on it, it's no longer an excuse to say that "we are just starting out".
I want to get this right and I want people to be critical of our work. If our TL is shit, tell us why.
The people that take the time to point out our mistakes (especially those that are brutally honest) are the ones that deserve the best TL possible because it shows they haven't given up on us.
They're still taking the time to tell us that our work is pretty shitty and want better. I'm not perfect, but I want to strive for perfection.
It's why our team is redoing things and not leaving things as is. Because you guys deserve better than that.

Unfortunately, reworking lines aren't reflected on our progress chart and it might appear that the project is stalled or dead when it's not.
I'm hoping that redoing things will pay off in the end for both the team and for the people who want to read Loverable in English.
To those of you that are still around, thanks for not giving up on us. It's been almost a year and a half without anything to show for it.
We're still here though, even if we aren't active on the forums as much. Hell, I rarely posted at all around here since I don't have much to say.
I'm still working on it though behind the scenes and I'm okay with that. I'm probably not gaining anything from working on this and finishing it.
I'm used to doing thankless and unrewarding jobs though, both in person and online. I'm sure there's others out there who feel the same.
We said we were going to TL Loverable without botching it and it's what we're going to do so you can enjoy it as much as we do.

Well, this reply is starting to turn into an essay and using time I could be using for Loverable before going to work, so I'll cut it short.
TDLR: Thanks for whoever is sticking with us and looking forward to our release, whether it's one person or a handful of people.
We're working on improving on our previously botched effort and will give you more updates when get past redoing our old work.
Some won't like it or that admitting that we need to redo stuff is a noob thing to do, but after months of showing no progress except for graphs...
I think it's the respectful and right thing for us as a TL group to do. Peace out.

jetpack003 got a reaction from BlackCatPrincess in What kind of VN do you enjoy the best?
I used to enjoy reading VNs with good plot narratives and characters but now I just want to play anything moege. At the moment, VNs are used to get rid of the stress, lol.

That being said, I do like to play VNs where the main character is smart and can think for themselves. This includes solving problems, planning ahead or manipulating the enemy. With that said, I really hate main characters who act like idiots or stupidly act stubborn for the sake of their beliefs. If I play any VN that has that type of person then I'll drop it immediately.

    Synopsis:
The protagonist is a famous soccer player, but due to a leg injury from a game, he must now rest until it heals. When he returns home, he is warmly greeted by his 4 older sisters whom he hasn't seen for a long time.

However, because his clubmates have play a prank on him and fill his bag with  H-manga, their relationships immediately plummet after they find out about it.

While trying to explain the situation to no avail, one of them suggests that they themselves should help him escape the 2D world and be interested in healthy adult women. Little does he know, all of his sisters love him more than a brother.

And so, this is the beginning of a ridiculous erotic life between our protagonist and his 4 tempting older sisters.

From what I'd heard, apparently they mistranslate some of the text. But in the end, I think it's just need some heavy QC to fix up MoeNovel's mess, which is still the improvement compared to what they did at Konosora.
As for the change, other than remove sex scenes they also change one CG and SD CG - the SD CG was pretty graphic showing Akito's manhood lol, although the script was stay the same (Probably).

jetpack003 reacted to Pabloc in KonoSora / IMHHW ReTranslation patch
It's not really "in the future", since I already started working on something. It's a cute little RPG that's simply perfect for fans of lighthearted, vanilla stories where totally nothing bad happens to main characters.
No, of course it isn't. Playing it will result in severe emotional trauma. You have been warned. ^^
That aside, we are considering moving our main info/updates/feedback place somewhere else. Due to Fuwa anti-piracy rules this thread's usefulness is quite limited, since we can't ask for any files that we would need for further compatibility testing and the like. I'm not sure about discussing how to mess around with that Chinese DLC either. Actually, it's highly questionable if the patch itself should be even posted here to begin with... >_>
Anyway, don't be surprised if this thread gets abandoned/locked in the near future. I'll post links to a new place (Reddit?) in the OP if that happens.

jetpack003 reacted to Pabloc in KonoSora / IMHHW ReTranslation patch
@garine Damn, those typos survived a few spellchecks and tons of manual reviews. >_< Good job, and keep reporting whatever you find (or PM NowItsAngeTime, he visits Fuwa the most often), we'll be updating the patch at some point to fix everything.
@jetpack003 I'll start from the last question - the biggest obstacle was... the VN itself. XD I quite enjoyed it and all, but normal, down-to-Earth charages aren't exactly my cup of tea. I like reading them once in a while, but that's not something I'd normally attempt to translate. But I wouldn't dare to practice on anything I consider great to begin with, so KonoSora was actually a perfect pick. Especially since I went into this project with the idea that fixing an existing translation would be significantly easier than working on something on my own from scratch (and I was so damn wrong...).
However, even if it was very far from a quick and easy practice I initially imagined, it was worth the effort in the end. My JP-reading speed significantly increased, I learned a lot about translating stuff in general, improved my English writing skills and such. And that was precisely my motivation - polishing my skills that is. There wasn't much else really (other than simply being stubborn). And since working on KonoSora served that one purpose just fine, I never fully gave up (even if I was briefly considering quitting it pretty much after finishing each route XD).
@maltron66 Speaking of TL-notes - actually, I only wrote the 'Basics' part especially for them. The rest was something I researched and wrote down in the comments to our scripts while I was working on them. It was only meant to help with editing, nothing else. But since they took quite a bit of effort, just leaving them in the comments would be a waste. So I copypasted them into TL-notes.
  25. Thanks
jetpack003 reacted to Pabloc in KonoSora / IMHHW ReTranslation patch
Actually I was the only one form the original Restoration patch team who kept working on this all the time. Avi8Tor and MeruP joined a while after the old patch was released, and that's pretty much the core team. Others either came and went or joined for the final QC/testing a few months ago (well, it was almost a year ago actually...) - and Ange definitely did most of the work in that regard.
Personally, I managed to stay committed to it only because I'm stupidly stubborn and don't like leaving things unfinished.
In the end, this is the VN that got me into translating stuff (and that in turn significantly improved not only my Japanese, but also my writing skills), so I really wanted to see this project through. Well, I did take a few breaks due to insufficient motivation, but each time I somehow managed to come back to working on it.
