  1. Hey! thanks for the feedback! If you'd like to check out the demo, it's linked at the top of this post.
  2. Gotta try everything! Hope you enjoyed the demo, btw! Don't forget to share it to your friends!
  3. KICKSTART A LOWLY SQUIRE'S LOVE LIFE! Love Esquire's Kickstarter is live now! The game still has a long way to go, but with your help, we can bring this game to life! Support us on Kickstarter and help us realize our dreams for the game! DOWNLOAD: WINDOWS • MAC • LINUX *Please take note that this is an alpha demo; everything is still a work-in-progress and may change in the final game. If you encounter any problems or bugs, please let us know ASAP! Don't forget to answer the survey found at the end for a special wallpaper! Love Esquire is a romantic-comedy visual novel/dating simulator, with a nostalgic touch of old-school RPG combat. In this game, you're not a famous knight, but a good-for-nothing squire who's on a quest to find man's greatest pleasure. Getting the girl won't be easy though, since most of them are waaay out of your league! To make things worse: you have a few months left before this huge war happens, and the only thing you know is how to milk cows. Good luck cramming years worth of training into four months! If it's any consolation, you get a medal if you die. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ No one believes that a lowly squire can save the world while banging – err, bagging – the girl of his dreams... but with a shitton of dumb luck, well... you might just prove them wrong! Welcome to the world of Love Esquire, and may the fertility god have mercy on your virginity. Nameable Hero – Whose name will these girls cry out during those scenes? You decide! 5 Dateable Waifus – More than just pretty faces, the ladies of Love Esquire have their own unique personalities, story arcs, and backstories! Turn-based combat with a twist – As a squire, you have a number of “unconventional” ways to assist your needy knight. Properly time your actions to unleash the full potential of your skills which are simply... out of this world! Manage your day – Allocate what little time you have in this world by forcing yourself to socialize or doing your job as a squire barely living on minimum wage. Git gud by raising stats – Stats will have an impact on your skills during combat, and they also affect your relationship with the girls. In other words, shape up to be the ideal man for the best results! Forge Relationships – Get to know your waifu on a personal level by being around her and talking about stuff. Sure, she’ll think you’re a creep at first, but persistence is key! As she eventually warms up to you, find out how there’s more to her than meets the eye. Multiple Endings – What’s waiting for your squire at the end of the journey? Make decisions that will end up great or turn out to be otherwise. Partially Voiced – So you can hear your waifus partially express their partially undying love for you! Mature Content – This game contains subjects and themes your parents warned you about as a kid. Moddable Content – The game will support simple modding on release. To be discussed in a future update. Original Soundtrack – We want you to experience the feels while playing this game, and our soundtrack will see to that! Having lived most of his life as a farm boy, you take control of the inexperienced and carefree Squire. Watch him grow to become the ideal man and overcome the various challenges he's yet to face. His fate (and virginity) rests in your hands. Depending on how smooth the development goes, we're looking at a late-2018 to mid-2019 release for Love Esquire. It will be distributed on Steam and Itch.io (Windows/Mac/Linux), followed by a mobile release (Android/iOS) a few months after. We don't have any plans for a console release, but that's something we might possibly consider once the game is out. The Letter was a successful Kickstarter project and a highly-rated game; it is our validation to everyone that we're not only capable of completing this project, but also delivering it up to standards. With your help, we're hoping Love Esquire to become our best game yet! What do you think of the game's concept? Do you like it? Hate it? What do you think of the characters currently presented? Do you have someone you find interesting in particular? Did you enjoy the RPG elements of the game? What were your favorite parts about it? Any other suggestions, comments, critiques?

  6. In this month's update, we are introducing another vocal powerhouse joining our OST singers, Amanda Lee (Letters Goodbye, OP theme) and Elsie Lovelock (ED theme). 7. Year-End Production Update. Onwards to 2017! Hello, everyone! Happy New Year to all of you! We hope you had a blast last 2016, leaving no regrets behind, as we march forward to a brighter year! In general, we've been crunching these past months between the beta releases and the actual completion of the remaining assets and features for the rest of the game. However, we've met a major halt during the holidays because everyone took breaks after a long year of hard work, but we'll be back full force by next week! We are also proud to announce that The Letter VN has already entered Beta Testing phase since last November. As of writing, Chapter 1: Isabella and Chapter 2: Hannah has already been sent to our Kickstarter Beta Access backers! We're proud to say that so far, feedback from our testers has been positive so far. Unlike in the Beta Demo, we can't post the survey results for the chapters. We can, however, share these two lovely comments from our testers: For those who are curious, here's a numbers breakdown of what you guys can look forward to in both chapters: For a more in-depth production update, we've also posted a year-end summary to our Kickstarter page over here! You guys can also follow our progress via our Twitter, Tumblr, or Facebook Page 2016 wasn't exactly kind to us. Our first month was a disaster, and moving forward, we kept missing our internal deadlines until eventually, we had to push back the game's release date. But we can't let the negatives drag us down. If anything, we should be counting our blessings instead: (1) YYM turned 1 this year, (2) Despite what happened, we found ourselves a very talented VA cast, (3) The Diary reached more than 50k downloads on google play, (4) We showcased The Letter in ESGS Philippines and G-Star Korea, and (5) We were able to release an updated beta demo, as well as Chapters 1 and 2, AND got positive feedback! These are our biggest milestones for the year, and we're really proud of what we've achieved so far. The pressure is on now that it's already 2017, but we're not about to crack. 2017 will be the year of The Letter. Please look forward to it! (•̀o•́)ง Until then, we thank you all for your support, and we hope you don't stop believing in us! We're nearing the finish goal, gang! Cheers to a grander and better year!
  8. Thank you so much! We're really excited to bring this to you all. You can follow our development updates over at our Twitter, Tumblr, and Facebook accounts! Don't forget to spread the word, if you can! <3
  9. Download the Beta Demo via Itch.io | Beta Demo Patch Notes | Beta Demo Survey The Letter's Beta Demo (V0.2.0) is finally ready for public consumption! Thank you so much for patiently waiting, and we sincerely hope you'll enjoy the game! The beta demo is a testament to what we've been doing these past couple of months, and we're proud of how much the game has evolved since its alpha phase. This is more or less how the final game is going to look/feel like, and covers the same scenes as alpha. Except for that, every element from the first demo was changed. Beta is now feature complete, but we're continuously enhancing every aspect of the game in preparation for the full release. Please take note that not everything you'll see in this demo is final. After you finish playing the game, please answer this short survey we've prepared. We value your feedback, so please don't hesitate to tell us what you think! We'll use the data gathered to further improve the game. And as a token of our appreciation, all survey respondents will receive a special wallpaper! Questions about this new demo: 1. Do you like it? Hate it? 2. What do you think of the characters currently presented? Do you have someone you like in particular? 3. What do you think of the art style? 4. How do you find the writing style compared to the alpha demo? 5. Any other suggestions, comments, critiques? Thanks so much for your time!
  10. Hello gang! ❤ For this month's update, we're very honored and proud to present, after sifting through hundreds of auditions, the official English voice actors and actresses for The Letter! Before we do that though, we’d like to take a brief moment to discuss how casting went. We paid most attention to voice and characterization (acting), closely followed by audio/sound quality. These two were very important to us, and they played a great part in the decision making. If these factors were met in the audition, we then proceeded and added points for accent, adlibs, portfolio and other creative things that made the actor stand out compared to the rest. Of course, we also had to consider who we could realistically afford. (Note: Voice Actors for the backer characters (such as Marianne, Andrew, etc.) were handpicked by the backers themselves.) We acknowledge that we're not experts in the voice acting field, and that's why we're very thankful to Sound Cadence Studios, especially to Amber Lee Connors, our sweet and patient casting director, for helping us in the casting process! ❤ Without her help, this wouldn't have been possible! And of course, our undying gratitude also extends to our dearest voice acting sponsor, Teófilo! Now without further ado, ladies and gentlemen, here are the lovely, official cast of The Letter! Amanda Lee as Isabella Santos A Youtube vocalist and voice actress, LeeandLie has over 600k subscribers for her works with anime and video game adaptations and covers. In 2011, she won the AX IDOL award in Voice Acting and made her debut in the industry as Noh Mask Rider from Squid Girl. Fall in love and listen to AmaLee and her fantastic vocals on her Youtube page: LeeandLie. The team absolutely loves her covers for Sword Art Online, Guilty Crown and Mirai Nikki! Now, don't go falling down the stairs like our silly Isabella Santos! Melissa Sternenberg as Rebecca Gales An active member of the Austin voice acting and anime community, Mippa specializes in the study of Mahou Shoujo with a senior thesis on the subject! She has done work as the voices of Serena, Amy and Luna in the Sailor Stars Fandub and is currently cast as the Head Healer in A More Beautiful World. This powerhouse is our pick for the history teacher we'll all know and love, Rebecca Gales. Marvel at her versatility and talent over at her BTVA and CCC pages. Really, check it out! Howard Wang as Ashton Frey Who you gonna call? TehExorcist, probably. With a name like that, he must not be afraid of no ghosts just like our Detective Inspector, Ashton Frey. Creator of a few of his own Abridged series, he has also lends his voice for other parody productions including TeamFourStar's Attack on Titan: Abridged along with being a writer and editor for the series. You might also know him as Rico from Dead: Island Epidemic, Toshio Taro from Exogenesis: Perils of Rebirth and Touma Maizono from Burn Your Fat with Me! Check out some of his shenanigans over on his Twitter: TehExorcist. Anthony Sardinha as Zachary Steele Joining his buddy, fellow creator known for the JoJo's Bizzare Adventure Abridged series, Antfish takes the stage as our precious cinnamon roll, Zachary Steele. Another TeamFourStar member, he not only does voices but he also has credit in co-creating, co-writing and co-directing for the group. That's a lot of co's! You might have heard his voice as Dale & 8-Bit Kane from Heroes of Newerth, Scoops from Awesomenauts, Cephalon Abnar from Warframe as well as Bryce & Berg from Dead Island: Epidemic. Why not take a peek at his works over on his Youtube channel: AnthonySardinhaVO? Amber Lee Connors as Hannah Wright Casting director, voice talent and all around lovely person, Shudo Ranmaru is ready to dazzle and step into the high heeled shoes of Hannah Wright. She has lent her voice to characters such as Tomomi from Ladies versus Butlers and Beli from HuniePop. She'll be joining The Reject Demon: Toko as well, as Ezekiel and Devon. She also voiced (and cosplayed!) Android 18 for the Dragon Ball Z: Abridged series. Tune in to the lady behind the mic over on her Twitter: AmberLeeConnors. Curtis Arnott as Luke Wright Guess who it is? Ghost Na- I mean, it's Takahata101, of course! One of the co-founders of TeamFourStar, which has over 2M subscribers, he is a well known individual in the voice acting and the abridging community especially with his roles as Nappa and Cell in DBZ Abridged. The man also gives life to Ryuji Shiba from Burn Your Fat with Me! and Eiji Tadashi from Exogenesis: Perils of Rebirth. He does an excellent cosplay of Loki too and stars on Megasteakman's Psy-Pop, which we recommend you go watch! For his every day shenanigans, follow this Twitter: Takahata101! With a Villain 101 resume like that, he might as well just put on a suit and be Luke Wright. Elsie Lovelock as Marianne McCollough Oh, Sweet Poffin, how do we describe thee? With a hauntingly beautiful voice, this vocalist and voice actress features wonderful covers of songs, mostly of the Disney variety on her Youtube channel. She's known as the voice of Daphne from Apotheon and was a contender in Britain's Got Talent though she wasn't able to go through to the semi-finals. Don't worry, you've got talent and our love, sweetie! Why else would she be starring as our Marianne McCollough? Her cover videos are a must watch and you can check them out on her Youtube channel: SweetPoffin. Her gender-bend covers are exceptional. Amanda Julina as Amy Lorraine One wonders if Amy Lorraine sang for a barbershop quartet, because Amanda does! Part of Low Key in New Mexico, she’s an excellent performer with a lot of talent and heart. Maybe, with this, Marianne can make some beautiful music with her old friend Lorraine. Or maybe not. Who knows? When it comes to video games, she’s featured in DreadOut as the Sundel Bolong and in Dust: An Elysian Tail as Colleen. Go and have a look at her quartet’s Facebook page: lowkeyquartet. Jeff Werden as Andrew Clark Although most of his professional work has been in the realm of audiobooks and the audio novel: Atlantis: Bearer of Fruit, Jeff is not unfamiliar with videogame voice acting. He's in Fallout 4 game mods such as the Atomic Radio, don't you know? But, with his love of books and with the sound of his voice, it seems only right that he be cast as Andrew Clark, our resident professor. Judging by his Twitter over at: vojeffwerden, it looks like we can look forward to his Reader's Guide for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child too! We just love Harry Potter. Steven Kelly as Johannes Schröcken Voice actor and music composer, Sarifus won Bioware's Take Your Place in the Inquisition and voiced Lord Pel Harmond in Dragon Age: Inquisition. Now, that's something you can't say everyday! He's also featured as Saren from Loren the Amazon Princess and Mayor Bram in Dust: An Elysian Tale. And, when he once voiced a Luke from Castle Dracula, he will now be serving the Luke Wright as his right hand man, Johannes Schröcken. Keep track of this one over on his Twitter: Sarifus. And go listen to his reading of Edgar Allan Poe's The Raven. Like, right now. Natalie van Sistine as Rose Cooper Creator, producer, writer, sound designer and the voice of Kate in the indie audio drama, The Elysium Project, NvanSistine is a real jack of all trades. Outside of her own projects, she's done work as Anna Kelso from Deus Ex: The Fall and Poison Circe from Heroes of Newerth. She'll also be in A More Beautiful World as Elena. Now, she's the never before seen Rose Cooper, Isabella's former mentor and fellow estate agent. If you'd like to hear more of her, why not check out The Elysium Project on her Youtube channel: dragonknighttara? Additional Notes: The role of Rose Cooper was not in The Letter's open audition. We didn't really expect Rose to have a bigger role in the game, much less someone needing her own voice actress. But after hearing Natalie's audition for another character, we just had to get her as a cast! Jason Marnocha as Norman, G & Lee Last but hardly the least, this Lord Jazor is an impressive one! First off, we really suggest that you check out his Youtube channel: LordJazor because his impressions are just gold. He does impressions of Batman's Rogues and has read the infamous Harry Potter fanfiction, My Immortal. You really must go and watch those! He's also done voicework in several fanfilms of... you guessed it, DC shorts! From the Joker to Deathstroke, he can do it all, but our lead writer favours his Riddler and Scarecrow recording the most. The Letter will now be having him as the enigmatic Norman, G and Lee. Triplets? Clones? Time Traveller? Lord Jazor has them all covered. Additional Notes: Like Rose, the roles of Norman, G and Lee were not in The Letter's open audition because he was announced rather late compared to the rest of the backer characters. Jason's audition for our other characters were good, so we decided to cast him in as Norman, G and Lee instead! The perfect fit! ---- So there we have it, the official and nearly complete cast of The Letter! For their sample voice clips as well as a few additional details on their audition, you guys can head on over our Kickstarter update here! Please let us know what you think! Did you like the cast? Do you think we've made the correct choices? Go and comment! We look forward to reading all of them! ❤

  14. Since we're approaching the deadline of our Kickstarter (6 days left!), we thought we'd share about our background process. That's right. We'll walk you through and through as to how our dedicated, talented artists spend sweat, blood and tears into breathing a magnificent BG art into The Letter. Don't feel too bad; it's actually their pleasure! [:D] The Letter's Background Process 2D Thumbnails We start off by planning our background composition and layout with thumbnail sketches. For the Ermengarde Mansion parlour, our lead artist (Eko) drew four quick sketches for us to choose from, putting only the larger objects that will be present in the scene. We decided to go with the fourth one for our next step. 3D Layout After picking a thumbnail to work from, our background artist (Czar) will now start layouting the scene in 3D. While we can certainly manually draw the scene line by line, using a 3D program to construct the scene helps speed up the process and allows us to easily add smaller objects to enhance the atmosphere. In this case, we added the wine table, candelabras, vase, and a clock to fill the empty space! Now that the basic layout is done, we now move on to the lineart! Lineart This is a pretty straightforward process: From our 3D program we now switch to Photoshop and start drawing our lineart based on the scene we created! We also modified parts of the lineart such as the window and the door, and drew it consistently with the design style of our mansion. Smaller details are also drawn manually such as the embellishments on the tables. Flat Colors Next we start planning our colors! Since our mansion is mostly consisted of warm colors, we decided go with the same ambience (notice how in the image the walls were originally supposed to be of a green color?). Once that is done, we can now finally start rendering the whole background! Rendering This is the process that took the most time in the entire background drawing process. Here we start to paint everything in the scene and slowly bring it to a detailed finish that is still consistent with the other backgrounds’ style! (Those patterns on the walls are actually made from our background artist’s sketch of Saitama from One-Punch Man! Cool, huh?) Lighting Many hours and three cups of coffee later, we can now add the lighting and make final adjustments to the illustration. Final Adjustments Lastly, we make adjustments to the whole picture to keep colors harmonious and bring out certain parts of the picture. Congratulations, you now have your background! What do you think? If you have any criticisms or suggestions, please feel free to comment them down below!
  15. @Seraphinite and @Shikomizue, thank you so much! =) Please share our game to your friends too!
