  1. I've only read the Re:Zero one and it was just simply OK. Felt like they blew their entire budget on the 3d characters or something cause it lacked in nearly every department
  2. 1: For honorifics i only think it's important if there are plot points in the vn where they change up how they refer to someone. If there are no such thing then it doesn't matter to me 2: Onii-chan should be left as is and that's because big brother just doesn't translate the cutesy context of onii-chan making it very neutral in comparison. 3: Again, if it is a plot point and used then it should stay. It's not criminal to google something you're unfamiliar with. 4: Never really thought about naming orders, but whatever makes the most sense within the context of the vn is my vote. 5: it can't be helped is fine isn't it? I mean people see that all the time in anime so it would not be surprising or feel out of place to a lot of people. Maybe people unfamiliar with vn's and anime? But no one should aim for those people specifically anyway. 6: Exactly the same as the one above. People hear it a lot in anime so for readability it's best to use it in a way people are used to and is also true to the vn. 7: I don't understand any of it, but i'd rather it be unless the translators can manage to write something to replace it with which makes sense within the context of the novel and the characters stay true to who they are. I can see some weird translator insert something they personally find hilarious (Likely something childish about memes) which doesn't make sense in the story.
  3. The guy who said that is probably involved somehow. But i'm glad i didn't go for this tbh after reading that. Regardless how i viewed the rest, i think i'd walk away from it truly pissed off
  4. Japanese music is usually at least two times as good when it features male singers.
  5. Steam can't just assume everyone who buys vn's are 18+ though. I'd also like to point out that mature games like Witcher 3 etc are not the same experience. You're detached from the characters whereas it's generally the opposite for visual novels making it a wholly more personal experience. If it deals with dark themes such as suicide, madness, death in general then i completely get why they choose to mark it as "adult"
  6. Just finished up Re:Zero kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikats. I'll give it a solid 5/10. The characters are as you can expect really, so i can't complain about those, but i'll praise them for being close-ish to the anime. Not quite, but close. The new characters were quite alright. But that was it, the original story characters are much better if you ask me. The music was lackluster. No two ways about it, it just wasn't anything special CG's? What CG's? It's a non hentai visual novel and it has only a handful of CG's in it. Was disappointing as many scenes that would have benefitted from a CG had the camera pan up in the sky or in the wall or something. The story was so-so. For the longest part it felt like you were reading a repeat of the first season of the anime with some changes, but it branced out, just a tiny bit late. I'd prefer it branching out even further and also earlier so it would stand on it's own feet a bit more. Possibly changing up a bit the character dynamics. And it was very PG with it's gore compared to the anime. It had something just to remind us that it's Re:zero, but it didn't go the required distance to be Re:zero. That's the best description i can give on the matter One thing that was amazing was the 3d-ish characters and animations.
  7. Simply as close to the original as an english translation allows. If you hear enough japanese you will pick up things whether you like it or not and it is extremely annoying if the translation is too different than what you hear.
  8. Dunno. They don't seem very interesting, just more of the same old really.
  9. But its a hard sell when you habe the biggest donkan in the world. Barely even human as a character and he turns into some pornstar and suddenly act as if he's very experienced in relationships. Regardless what circumstances the reader have, some form of realism should be expected so it feels more natural.
  10. Well if they see no reason to make sure their products are as good as they can be, then i see no reason to hand them my hard earned money also
  11. You're simply explaining fundamental issues with many visual novels. Writers shouldn't quit their day jobs for making vn's, but they still keep writing this shit. Either they're so young they don't know how life works, or they're shut ins delivering scripts online without any clue how people or society works.
  12. And i never checked the list of actresses and now saw that the one i suggested was already there. Deep respect
  13. You can be strong even if you like someone.
  14. I think most females in regular vn's are pretty strong. It's finding a strong protagonist which can be a hassle and a half
  15. I just finished sword art online hollow fragment and it is basically a visual novel rpg
  16. Man, i've heard so much different opinions regarding this. Some say its just some lose ends which are not all that important thats left unfinished. Others are kicking up a storm over it being so unfinished. Which is it?
  17. Seeing as Alternative have all been alive at some point, i don't think it's an utsuge, at least the true ending (if there is one)
