It wouldn't even have to be a super well-known title. Just something with visual appeal and more story than "school love-triangles." This or this would have been excellent choices.

I think the main reason the kickstarter is failing is that Sol Press chose the wrong game. Sakura Sakura is an older title with zero buzz, a 4:3 aspect ratio, and no "big name" creators involved. A known entity MangaGamer can generate hype for an obscure title, but not a first-timer. The "Sakura" name doesn't help either, as it's become shorthand for a generic VN.

I'm not otome trash, but even I'm excited about FLML. It just looks like so much fun from the screenshots I've seen (didn't want to spoil myself with the demo.)

I've seen people say they won't buy it because Sakura games suck.

This has an official translation in progress. The three titles I'd most like to see translated that don't currently have projects are Hatsuyuki Sakura, Sakura no Uta, and Flyable Heart.

Byakko would be nice. Especially since there are cameos in SukiSuki. As for other licenses, the only strong guess I have is another Rance game. Titles I'd like to see from current partners are Amatsutsumi, Sakura no Mori † Dreamers, and Fairytale Requiem. As for a new partner, I'm always hoping that its Saga Planets or August, albeit highly unlikely.

I only said that using nabe would be more consistent. 'Hot-pot' and 'beef stew' would be my preference.

First off, Japanese words are always both singular and plural, so 'Sakuras' is incorrect. It should simply be 'Sakura.' Then, in Nanako's profile, using 'nabe' rather than 'hot pot' would be more consistent if you're keeping dish names like 'nikujaga.' In Kuruki's profile, the number 'two' should be spelled out instead of just putting the numeral '2.' This is a general rule for numbers under one hundred. Also, 'The Online Friend' sounds better than 'The Internet Friend.' Here's a slightly tweaked version of the story section:

Cool, I've always wanted this translated. It was pretty popular in Japan when it came out and ranked well in the best-of-year awards. Plus, the OP is just plain catchy.

I'd love to see more art books go in-depth about character costumes. I want head-to-toe shots, plus close-ups of important details, for every costume. Basically, give me the originally character design sheets.

They could use somebody who actually likes romance/moe titles, too. Right now, the hosts' taste in VN is far too similar.

If you think you're going to have to censor something, you shouldn't be releasing the game in the first place. Not because the it's bad, but because it should be left for those who would release it uncensored. IOW, SubaHibi should've gone to MangaGamer.
