  1. The House in fata morgana is the kamige, one of those vns you have to read before you die. It's maybe all age, but it aims to adult people. I mean, real adults that don't watch anime and still read a lot. Tokyo Babel is a boring pretentious game with some ridiculous religious interpretation. But it has high production values and godly voice acting. As for the great eroge recommendation, have you tried Majikoi series? It's fun and sexy like hell.
  2. It's all good and interesting but what about PC? Are we still not a priority platform even after Steam?
  3. At least, Supipara is the new IP. But I am afraid, they will share the same fate, because no one likes short episodic games that reuse the same assets over and over again. Thank's God, no crowdfunding this time, so the West will get all the volumes no matter what.
  4. 'Cause that's what people really want from them. No porn, episodic and cute girls wth guns. For me, one of the main selling point of the trilogy is self-sufficient, extraordinary and witty protagonist. I wonder, how good is Aoi Haruto. I don't find this description "Haha, my classmates often tell me I'm a total asshole." very inspirational.
  5. Now we know who to blame. They better work on Island. The age of Grisaya in The West is gone. The most funny thing is that the spinoff might come out faster then the last game from the original trilogy. Could be confusing for some readers.
  6. Because no one really needs any VN on mobile devices when you can play Pokemon Go or Angry Birds. There are literally millions games to choose. You can do it with VNDS magic or with the streaming app like Splashtop. Back to the topic. I found out that "5pb" is involved with publishing "Ore-tachi ni Tsubasa wa Nai - Under the Innocent Sky", so for Navel it would be very hard to bring this title on Steam. So, maybe they don't have much choice and they have picked their hit game. But it doesn't explain why it has to be PS2 version.
  7. He's Overdrive higher-up. You can read the interview with him here http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/interview/2015-03-17/hiroshi-bamboo-takeuchi-overdrive-producer/.86031
  8. Also, the prices are different. In Japan we have 70 - 90$ and here is 45$ for the most expensive games. I see a logic in your arguments but I will stay with my belief for now.
  9. For some titles it is slow, it depends on negotiations. And it wasn't a matter of months but more then a year if you consider the time before the actual announcements. I think that if the Steam decline would not have happened we could see a slightly different line of games at the Anime Expo or Otacon. I have no doubt that the company is hiding in a secret other things that it is too early to talk about. The major change has happened after the ridiculous success of Go! Go! Nippon! ~My First Trip to Japan~ in early 2014.
  10. Then Decay and Tay should stop posting VNTS every week. It's so misleading And I don't care about JAST. Nobody cares about them anymore. Also, I believe that Erogamer has every right to complain because he's a legitimate buyer. He could stay silent, walk away and just pirate the game. But he is trying to find a way to get it legally.
  11. Steam Ready titles. My mistake was to emphasize on all age tag. In case of Fata Morgana Fan Disc it's true. But I can compare MG Anime Expo 2015 and 2016 announcements and clearly see the drifting towards 18+ releases. They don't abandon Steam but they and Sekai are adapting to the new reality. I know Good Haro mentioned how exactly MG managmet choose their next titles. The translator's opinion is relevant but it is not the final word in making decision. There are also business expectations from the western market. I am basing it on sale's figures and changes in MG and SP policies. Technically it's not, but game's H-scenes are subpar at best and very tame. I understand, that a story title doesn't always means all-age But it wasn't my point to begin with. I just don't see how Navel can succeed with the PS2 version Shuffle on Steam. They have better chance with MG or DenpaSoft, or even Nutaku.
  12. To tell the truth it's a not a particulary bad decision. If You Love Me, Then Say So! now has 92% TL and definitly will be out early next year. And we all know how slow is SP with their projects.
  13. I read that someone on twitter has recommended to ChuableSoft to make a deal with MG. Originally they considered partnership with SP. But people persuaded them clayming SP is the devil seed. Turns out, whining can make a difference.
  14. Is my English so bad? I'm sorry. I was trying to say that the previous Mangagamer lineup contained many "Steam ready" titles like The Fata Morgana, Tokyo Babel, The Gakhtun, Supipara and all of them behaved poorly in sales this year.
  15. Well, it's still lower then early Sakura's games on Steam. For such famous and well-known even outside otaku crowd franchise it's pretty average numbers. And please don't compare these figures to the japanese sales. The VN's there sell strong every month with full price (~90$), while on Steam the biggest sale goes in the first couple of weeks. It's a matter of fact that Steam miracle for visual novels, both Evns and Jvns, is gone now. That's why MG went from all-age lineup to entirely 18+. That's why SP remembered about Denpasoft and made a deal with Nutaku. It's a matter of money. And while all-age versions on Steam are still selling better then in companie's stores before the bubble, look at Flowers and Nurse Love Addiction numbers (1,552 and 2,587 respectively) or the tragedy of The Labyrinth of Grisaia (2,932). I know, we can't really trust SteamSpy data, but I believe that the Steam buyers aren't very loyal or knowledgable. The first Grisaya game sold well because of anime, Princess Evangile and Nekopara both sold well because of Youtuber's, Yuri Ghosts sold well becuse of nudity precedent. In the end of the day, what's left is the core audience that could support pricy games if they have H-content. Everybody understand, so why Navel don't. Why is so hard to make all-age version and 18+ patch. It's not like Shuffle has some questionable content that could rise the storm among SJWs. Or maybe it's the first independent try of market for them to see how it'll go. I'm afraid they are too late.
  16. You don't have to. I made a mistake and after another "carefull styding" I've found out that there are only 80 CG. Still, 90% is hentai. It's nukige, alright. And I really want to know, how long is the Steam version .
  17. I was "you know where" and I have counted 300 hundred CG. As you can guess, most of them are H-scenes.
  18. I am eager to find out, because this https://vndb.org/v17515 is also coming to Steam. So based on the experience we'll know what to expect.
  19. Oh, you got it first. And yeah, it's originally nukige https://vndb.org/v19773. No info about 18+ aside twitter message that they're thinking about it. Another shot for the Nekopara success. I wonder, is it actually good.
  20. While we were talking, someone made a bold move http://store.steampowered.com/app/493450/ How you can turn nukige https://vndb.org/v19773 in all-age? Apparently, it has dog girl, fox girl and even racoon girl... So... another smart market research?
  21. Well, I need suicide right now Jokes aside, this one https://vndb.org/v19322 will have them too. If it's Evn in japanese style, that's ok, I guess. But for western authors I recommend stick with non-voice version while it's very expensive to hire professional cast. F.e. I think, actors in "Life is Strange" did a good job. But I don't think EVNs have budget for this. And hiring someone with lower skills ("Just Desert") only makes the things worse.
  22. I think that the only study that they conducted is viewing Nekopara steamspy figures.
  23. So, the Sakura games is the new hope. Yes, you're right. There's no place for me anymore. You need to read posts before replying. I specifically mentioned about my interests. Use the word "taste". I like good visual novels regardless of origin. I critisize western vn scene more because I think it's time for it to grow up. Do you guys read my post? I said about giving up. When people accept the things how they are that's when the market is doomed. Do you believe that if you feed the public with mediocre product, sooner or later it will get tired of the Evns. The sales are declayning. Maybe it's temporary but if it's not... Am I so wrong to demand something big and exceptional from the Evns? Thank you for your interesting opinion. Can people appreciate the both industries equally? Do they have to choose? I don't think the ‘choice’ mechanic can save inconsistent writing. The story is the center of any visual novel, even if it's eroge. The story and the characters are what bring people on board. I see some good examples of former and latter in the english fanfics but rarely in Evns. I see great ideas and bad realization. They are so lazy in execution. It's like I'm reading class students homework. Sometimes they use the language worse then I'm right now. And I am ESL.
  24. So, we should give up and let the western scene die? I think, we should support those efforts that could bring us some really good products. Different from Japanese of course, but still great. And please, don't decide for me what my interests are. I like english writing style more then japanese. I believe Rin's route from KS is superior to most eastern romance vns. It happened once, so I'll be waiting for it to happen again.
