メルP got a reaction from testaburger in Kono Oozora H-Scenes Porting Project
Yea, sweet love is basically a set of additional h-scenes with each of the main girls.
assuming "these translations" means "random VN or Anime translations", then it is not uncommon for it to be done even by people that do not qualify for N5 level.
If you are asking within the context of this particular VN and SweetLove, I would say that N4-5 is enough. There is more sex than language.

    It doesn't help with what?
If you wanted to participate, you could contact Lan through this forum (can't say if help is still requested)
If you are simply curious, then pretty sure there were ways to get the information you seek. You just need to be in the right place at the right time or to have the right connections. As it is explained above, this is a private project and even this thread is not supposed to exist.

There are a few (un)expected complications. Maybe(just maybe) Lan will comment on the project status, but so far you should consider "worrisome" to be pretty accurate description.

Yeah, sure. I just don't want to give a strictly positive answer in case updating the scripts will require more motivation than I currently have ^^

B-buuut... While we at it. I hope you don't mind if I'll post something here.

Konosora English Translation patch v.1.2.6 (for original Japanese version only)
Notable difference compared to the previous versions: theoretically should work under English locale without any special requirements.
Note the words "theoretically", "should". I don't have motivation to read through it all and check for issues, so don't be surprised if something will happen.
There are NO changes translation-wise. Text is the same as in Restoration 1.0

Please do not report any bugs here (I hope there aren't any left though). Lately I don't read this thread or even forum.

Also notice: Author of the mentioned "guide" known by nickname Stalin-chan is not affiliated with me in any way. I never gave him permission to use anything from my patch and never will. I do not give any support for anything he produces.
My patch is a modification for original 18+ title and has nothing to do with steam.

It failed to read a sprite where Miku is supposed to look surprised. In other words, your VN is broken. Try to reinstall or redownload

メルP got a reaction from Eclipsed in Rewrite, give me good reasons to play this ...
I don't understand this.Yes, Rewrite starts as a kind of slice of life, then slowly it becomes not-so-slice-of-life. That's how Rewrite is, and this is why it's Epic - because of how it executes this. Whether you like this approach or not is for you to decide, not us.
I only want to stress the fact that you're not supposed to think about this at all. You should read it if you like it, and shouldn't if you don't. Later parts depend on earlier parts. It's all mixed and I can't imagine liking it "partially" (maybe when it comes to some girl's routes but not the way we're talking about here). These latter parts will be "just OK" for you at best.

Basically it seems to me that you had some hopes about it but now you feel disappointed. Happens. But regardless of what reasons we may invent here, I don't think they'll make you truly like it.

Rewrite is focused on not being focused on something one, on mixing genres.
Edit2: that is, Rewrite is a comedy-drama-action-mystery-slice-of-life-fantasy-romance (<-- in no particular order)

    Edit:
Come to think of it, let's stay on topic. If you wanna me to give you a reason, I'd say its a Booby-ending that is available after you clear everything else (don't remember exact conditions). Booby-ending clearly makes all other parts worth to suffer-through.

B-but I never said its not tracing? Sure maybe he drew right on top of it, why would I care? Even if he completely traced the outline, finished work still have more of his own contribution. And anyway, I'm a simple consumer, final product is all that matters.

Edit: By looking at hair, clothes, background and stuff, we clearly can see that no more than 90% of the outline match (often less). And outline by itself is no more than 50% of the total work. Compared to many similar cases, this is a pretty modest stealing.

Forever means all the time, even when you don't play. This is how it is supposed to be if you want to read VNs. As long as you don't use any other non-unicode software, there shouldn't be any problems (and if you do use such software, consider finding better alternative for it).
Of course you can [turn it on - reboot - play - turn it off - reboot] every time, that's up to you. But THIS is the brutal way, IMHO, not the way I proposed ^__^
Also note that some VNs require more than just changing locale, but date and time representation too. Get used to it.

By the way, in theory this issue also may appear because you didn't cracked these VNs properly or because the patches for them are crap (plus I don't think there are completed patches for any of these VNs yet). But seeing that you have the same problem with 3 of them, this have to be locale issue.

メルP got a reaction from Aureol in Never7: Game appears to run, but only black screens
Yes, Never7 doesn't work under VirtualBox. It requires you to have real discrete videocard. Virtualbox's poor Direct3D support seem to be not enough. Any official Never7 release also doesn't works correctly on any windows newer than XP, even with real hardware, which also results in black screens. But in this case people usually can make it work.
If the screen is completely black and always like that - you probably have no chances. If it only partially black or at some point you can see some of the main menu graphics, even if for a short time, fiddling with video options and switching fullscreen-windowed may result in something.
If you're on mac you may want to try some other virtual machine that has better direct3d support. (I dunno if such thing exists)

メルP got a reaction from sarayne in Request: Removal of Grisaia and Planetarian Torrents
Eh? Responsibility? Job? I don't think any of these terms can be applied to sites like Fuwa. Fuwa is a "for people, by people" kind of site (at least this is what I think it is).
Having some VN sold officially in US does not equals to "yep, its now available!". Pretty sure for many-many people this "availability" changes nothing.
Yes it's not Fuwanovel's job to provide every single Visual Novel for free to the west. But if there are people who can provide, and not necessarily every single, but this or that one - why stop them? And wanted Aaeru that or not - hard to say. But pretty sure she wasn't against it.

Edit: Also in terms of Japanese media (not only VN's) "west" doesn't means US it means everything except Japan.

Edit: oh, while I'm at it. I don't mind Fuwa releases to be removed. (I'm a prepatched release hater after all ). But It kinda hurts to see that people who are satisfied with that official release (and can afford it) are trying to take away stuff from everyone else. Also it doesn't makes sense to remove torrents. Removing the info from the main page (moving the info to the forum?) but keeping torrents makes more sense. Fuwa was never against sharing even already released official translations. Its just having them on the main page is problematic. But now you're talking about removing even fanmade ones...

メルP reacted to メルP in Kotori's Route *KONOSORA SPOILERS*
Well, I finally finished Kotori's route (it took me one month to do it). It was quite promising at first but then my enjoyment gradually dropped, and later it transformed into annoyance. At some point I started to skip every second line. 4/10. And this is only thanks to H-scenes, cause I was looking forward to see them. Otherwise I would probably just drop it by now. I expected to see way more "pain and suffering" caused by Kotori's disability directly and not her father being a jerk, or sister that has no clue about what's going on even by being there in person, not the place where they have everything "handicap friendly", not all of this stupid drama that they create for themselves like they have nothing better to do.
Guess I'll try Ageha's route now. I hope there won't be Hibari, her parents or Tobioka-sensei... cause they are so annoying and poke their noses into something that is not their business, I wish I could tell them about my feelings using some heavy club ( – -)/☆°_。)

Basically the flowchart looks like this:
intro - they are flying - stupid forced drama happens - they are flying - stupid drama - they are flying, woot, suddenly ending
So it the third of it could be easily cut and no one would notice.

メルP reacted to RusAnon in What are the differences between visual novel, eroge, gal game, and a dating sim?
There's good reason which is stated on VNDB FAQ: these games are not novels, so obviously they have no place on novels database.

I can agree that it would be useful to have similar "jap games" database or something like that, but its silly to demand vndb to be it. Anyone can use vndb code to run his own db with whatever inclusion criterias he wants.
