  1. There is also this. Which is still THE preferred way of reading Konosora to date. Don't like to be a shameless self-advertiser, but in case when these steam dudes keep taking stuff from my patch (usually naming it "sweet-love-something", even though sweet love is the least important part of it) without giving credits, I find it appropriate. (BTW, unless something changed in the last year, there is a high chance that v2 will be made in a similar fashion to the patch i linked) Edit: oh and almost forgot. Konosora patched with my patch doesn't require any kind of NTLEA crap or messing with locales. I seriously have no clue how they managed to break it so bad that it is now a requirement.
  2. I knew this from the start and my original reply in post number 6 of this thread mentions it. "The post above me" doesn't adds any new info above that. You're just as blind/stupid as the OP. Should I highlight each word in my original sentence with fancy colors so that you won't stop reading it half-way? Granted, it does not have an image attached to it, but spoon-feeding doesn't makes people use brain and doesn't makes my original reply less correct.
  3. in control panel, yes. but "locale", not "location"
  4. You need to use Japanese locale to run it. If it doesn't helps, consider Steam version to be unsupported.
  5. Pretty sure I posted a comment here? Maybe I didn't. Whatever. What I said is that the issue you have is not a common problem for VNs. Its a common problem for users of this forum. You should blame prepatched releases for that. It is best to always download the original + English patch and apply it after reading the instructions carefully. Prepatched releases are for stupid or lazy people. For nosebleed: No, I am not trying to call letsolrac stupid because he used a prepatched release. Pretty sure he just used whatever was available. What I am saying is that preached releases are crap. So if you're the one who is deleting my comments - go moderate something else.
  6. Apparently you can't read or don't understand what you read. Re-read my post a few more times. While making my previous post I tried to be calm and polite, but my resolve won't last forever.
  7. IMHHW on steam. Nothing interesting. People already moved on to discuss their crappy TL, again ^^
  8. Ahh, well, actually by "Extensive editing" I meant something closer to your "TLC bordering on re-translation". I'm not really sure about the real scales discussed here. I ended up skipping through IMHHW cause all of that drama was too stupid and artificial for me. For me, there is no clear margin between Editing and TLC and the quality of the actual TL make this margin more vague (Edit: unless the editor sees Japanese for the 1st time in his life, then he's a 100% editor of course, albeit not a very good one)
  9. I agree with this, assuming translator did a good job to begin with. Which is not the case with Konosora. If original TL is shitty and we don't have resources to re-translate it from scratch, it is only natural to edit it as extensively as possible.
  10. This is what I call a negative bias. Anyway, most VNs made for otaku and such, so how exactly this is bad to be translated appropriately? Last time I checked though, characters were Japanese, not English speakers. No one asks you to talk the same way at your home. You talk like a some kind of purist here. Yes, this may be not a pure English, so what? It is pretty normal for any language to incorporate foreign stuff for which it doesn't have proper alternative. Look, not only English, but Japanese itself. How many VNs actually use pure Japanese? In some VNs there are tons of examples where they use foreign stuff simply because it sounds cool. I don't see why originals can but translations can not.
  11. It failed to read a sprite where Miku is supposed to look surprised. In other words, your VN is broken. Try to reinstall or redownload
  12. This has been beaten to death. You need Japanese locale and Japanese time format. Once you set all of that it'll be alright. Just please don't answer with something like "I already have that". Clearly you don't. Once you will, it will work.
  13. What I posted about Valkyria Chronicles (not really VN but close enough) in fuwa IRC not so long ago (sans typos) New fucking spin to the original work indeed. I'm spinning in my chair after reading this bullshit.
  14. ^THIS IS WHAT I DO! Yayy! \(^ω^\Ξ/^ω^)/
  15. I don't understand this.Yes, Rewrite starts as a kind of slice of life, then slowly it becomes not-so-slice-of-life. That's how Rewrite is, and this is why it's Epic - because of how it executes this. Whether you like this approach or not is for you to decide, not us. I only want to stress the fact that you're not supposed to think about this at all. You should read it if you like it, and shouldn't if you don't. Later parts depend on earlier parts. It's all mixed and I can't imagine liking it "partially" (maybe when it comes to some girl's routes but not the way we're talking about here). These latter parts will be "just OK" for you at best. Basically it seems to me that you had some hopes about it but now you feel disappointed. Happens. But regardless of what reasons we may invent here, I don't think they'll make you truly like it. Rewrite is focused on not being focused on something one, on mixing genres. Edit2: that is, Rewrite is a comedy-drama-action-mystery-slice-of-life-fantasy-romance (<-- in no particular order) Edit: Come to think of it, let's stay on topic. If you wanna me to give you a reason, I'd say its a Booby-ending that is available after you clear everything else (don't remember exact conditions). Booby-ending clearly makes all other parts worth to suffer-through.
