  1. Well BlazBlue series is on VNDB (For some reason) and BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma Extend is one of titles announced too. It's the only title out of those witch I am looking forward too.
  2. This year was really amazing, best one up till now, well quality of anime is constantly increasing. Owari no Seraph Seiken Tsukai no World Break DanMachi Rokka no Yuusha Dog Days S3 Would also include Overlord, Gate and Chaos Dragon. This is without fall true as fall anime haven't yet started ending.
  3. My guess is that it will be a squeal to Danganronpa 1 and not really mention anything about Danganronpa 2 and that they titled it 3 only to avoid it getting mixed with existing Danganronpa 2 VN. No, DR3 is DIRECTLY related to Danganronpa and Danganronpa 2, so I am sure it'll focus on both games. It's the conclusion of most if not all plot threads about Hope's Peak, which means it HAS to focus on Danganronpa 2's cast. If that really is how things are then it is pretty stupid as people who only watched anime or/and didn't play Danganronpa 2 would be fu*ked. That's a pretty stupid thing to say, should story progression between installments be hurt because newcomers would be left out? I could sort of understand that if we were talking about old games here, but both Danganronpa games are available for purchase on a current system (Vita). Danganronpa's fanbase isn't for the anime, it's for the game. The anime is thought to be a shitty adaptation and nothing more. Any sequel to two incredibly story heavy games shouldn't be viewed/played without playing the games first. Big shocker. Could you please explain to me what exactly is wrong with anime adaption for you to call it "shitty adaptation and nothing more". I both played Danganronpa game and watched Anime and I would say that not only is anime not a bad adaption at all but that it is actually better then game as mini game during trials ruin most of it's tension as a story and I liked how anime done it a lot better, anime adaption also doesn't luck any of the important events, in fact the only events I could remember being present in game and not in an anime is a bath scene and some info about characters reviled by gameplay system of presents and things. Making an Anime only sequel to a Game only story is a pretty stupid thing to do as you are limiting people who can enjoy in it to only people who are into both, crossing from media like that is just not a smart thing to do no meter how you look at it, especially since one installment before that exists as both game and anime, and you could easily adopt second game to anime too before making a sequel. If Anime really was just an shitty adaption only for game fans that would be a different thing but that is not a case at all. If First anime didn't exist I could also somehow understand it, but like this it just makes no sense. The only legit reason to do something like this would be if story from Danganronpa 2 isn't actually that important for that sequel and you can understand things without knowing it. "anime adaptation is better, doesn't lack any important events. " AAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Seriously? Fucking seriously? Okay, first off: INVESTIGATIONS. In the anime, investigations are literally just a montage. You see people doing stuff, evidence flashes by for a min or two, then tadaa-trial. In the game, all investigations take around an hour, and you talk to people, you walk around and investigate the crime scenes, sometimes there are deveopments like needing to ask something to somebody based on a piece of evidence or another testimony. Not only would one get an exponentially better understanding of the case (due to actually seeing where the evidence is from and talking about it), in the anime almost all evidence is presented and explained in the trial, which brings me to my next point. Trials. The trials are also cut down heavily in the anime. Except the last one, all trials last a single episode- less than 25 minutes. The shotest trial, the first, takes around an hour. That means ALL trials are at least halved: cut discussion points and dialogue included. This obviously has a huge effect on the storyline. Minigames' impact on pacing is your opinion, though I disagree, I don't find room for discussion there. The anime WAS better at depicting several moments (Sayaka's breakdown in the AV room in CH1, etc.) but overall I find the game to be FAR better paced. Free Time Events (where you spend time with a student of your choice) are actually a quite important part of the game since it's where most of character exposition takes place. It's where you learn about Togami's trials to be considered part of his birth family or Sakura wanting to return to be able to support the only person she has never been able to defeat in a fight who's now ill, for example. I'm not very happy about DR3 being an anime myself, but a visual novel- anime genre cross is more understandable than most, a lot of VN fans tend to enjoy anime so that's an acceptable risk. I just hope it doesn't hurt the story or franchise. I would've preferred a straight out, no-gameplay VN myself, but anime probably appeals to a larger part of the fanbase compared to full-on VNs (I've seen a lot of "VNs without gameplay do not interest me" posts),but that's just conjecture. It's more likely that it's a design choice for it to be an anime and given the very open-ended conclusion of DR2, nothing claiming to be the conclusion to the DR1/2/AE arc would dare not conclude the questions that remain at the end of DR2. By the way, if the first anime had sold/ been received well enough, we would have gotten a DR2 anime adaptation already. We didn't, becuase PEOPLE DID NOT LIKE THE FIRST ANIME, the sales were not enough, and thus we are not getting a SDR2 anime. The reason we getting EoHP (End Of Hope's Peak) in anime format is because that'll be an anime from the get go and not a shitty, rushed 13-episode adaptation of a 20-30 hour game. When it comes to investigations, the only reason why you need a hour in game to get true to them is gameplay elements, story wise Anime isn't lacking anything. The fact that we are getting this as an anime rather then as a game is a fact that anime was popular enough to get a sequel, if not we would be getting one more game instead. Rather it could be that DR2 game wasn't popular enough and they would rather skip it when it comes to anime adaption. No, there's more than gameplay that was cut. It's absolutely bullshit that no story content was cut (though that might be true in Daily Life, aka the part of the game between a trial's end and the next murder), as an example the first case doesn't even tell you in the anime that the shattered glass sphere and the burnt cuff (which you aren't told is a burnt shirt cuff in the anime) were found in the trash room, which was only accessible by Yamada. Investigations are mostly dialogue and environmental interaction, which wouldn't be too influenced by not being gameplay elements. There's testimonies and information regarding evidence that isn't touched upon in the anime. Then again, you believe that the 2 hour final trial (the most dialogue intensive one which has the least gameplay) has almost one and a half hours of superficial content (since you seem to be defending its 40-minute anime version) which simply sounds like nonsense to me. If the gameplay was cut out of the game and it was a VN with no gameplay it wouldn't be any longer then Anime, I had gone for a game strait after finishing anime and I remember that there was really no new events at all in game that I didn't already see in anime except what I already mentioned (Bath scene and free time events) so no there wasn't that much of story cut out in anime version and definitely nowhere near enough for you to call it shitty adaption. And if you put that in scale with how much better story is told in anime then anime wins by far for me.
  4. I knew about this project but didn't know it was yet to be founded and didn't expect it this soon, looking forward to it.

The same case is for Trials as well as a game as a whole, and by dragging it out with gameplay they actually lower the tension. The only reason why game is 20h-30h is gameplay, without it story can be perfectly well told in 13 episodes. While Free Time Events are interesting they are short and are hardly story relevant. The fact that we are getting this as an anime rather then as a game is a fact that anime was popular enough to get a sequel, if not we would be getting one more game instead. 9. That list is incomplete and lucks some titles, here is a more complete list http://anichart.net/winter True based on number there will most likely be few more titles that are still not announced. The season looks really great, Including fall leftovers there are 31 anime series that I will watch.
  10. Both are important obviously, but if I had to choose one then it would be characters. If a VN/Anime has a bad story or no story but still has great characters and character development it can still be a great anime/VN on the other hand no meter how great a story is if you have a shallow, boring real life-like characters it can't be any good. Anime characters are one of main reasons why Anime/VNs are so superior to western media. You should add a pool for this topic.
  11. It is proven that how hard/easy to learn a language it is to you depends from similarity of that language with your native one, also once you already learn a language it always seems easier then the next language you try to learn even if you in fact have struggled with learning it more. As for the reason why English is as widely spoken I would say media has a lot to do with it. If Fuwanovel has to say something it will be Japanese
  12. I liked ZNT Anime very much but I never read a Novel version, but if Novel has a same ending that Anime has I don't see how they think of continuing that without changeling the type of story ZNT was. But from way people are talking here it seems like the ending in Anime was an original one witch I could see as I did think that ending was rushed and a bit out of place, so I was wondering if that indeed is a case? Not that I am expecting to exactly get an ending I want (Tabitha's ending) but if lucky there might be at least a more open ending when it comes to romance or a harem ending (Probably not but I can always hope).
  13. Go for it. No one should be forced to hold control in rewrite more than they have to. No clue how the hell people have the patience for that, I'd rather drop the game than to do as what other people here sugested. Dropping a game just because you are to lazy to hold Ctrl for 30min-1h at most really shows how little you appreciate a VN. Not to mention that you can just stuck button with something too.
  14. This looks very good, really raises my hopes for OELVNs.
  15. Fragment's Note would also fit in, and maybe Symphonic Rain true it is a bit more on a drama side. Also + 1 for Katawa Shoujo.
  16. Hyperdimension Neptunia games, while fun, are hardly quality games. Poorly balanced, with bad stories, and grinding gameplay only offset by a fun battle system, and some fun console/game related references that the series has sadly drifted away from. JRPG ports on steam do not count unless the game is remastered in a way that changes the original game significantly (ie. System Shock Enhanced would count due to the addition of mouse aiming). Aside from one or two jrpg releases (TitS 2 for example) it was a weak release year for JRPGs and they are overshadowed by major releases like MGSV, Mad Max, Fallout 4, etc. The story in Neptunia is really great and unique as well as characters and if you get the way you should be playing it it is not unbalanced at all, whoever says that Neptunia is unbalanced clearly didn't play any really unbalanced games and there is hardly much grinding. True it is True that English translation is awful so people who play it in English are missing on at least half of it's charm, and that this is game that is aimed at hardcore otaku witch already makes it better then western stuff. Also Re-birth 3 did come out this year so it's still counts. The only reason why MGSV, Mad Max, Fallout 4, etc. are considered major releases are because of their budget and marketing in terms of quality they are hardly even worth mentioning, especially not in the same conversation where we talk about quality JRPGs.
  17. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re-Birth Triology. True if we are talking only about western games then maybe Pillars, true this was a rather week year for western games, on the other hand there ware many great JRPG ports on steam. Then Again even if it wasn't such a week year for western games they still don't really sand a chase against JRPGs anyway.
  18. Well I did say that VN-JRPG hybrids are exception. As for what a gameplay is well it is easier to say what it isn't and reading a bunch of text and making a few choises definitely isn't, infact there are even some actual "make your own story" types of books that have choices, so just because they get visual and sound elements and become digital dosen't transform them into game. Sure because they are digital they are bound to have some simmilaities with games but they are far to different from games to be counted as ones. And in fact the way to tell a difference between VN with gameplay and JRPG with an VN elements can also be used to prove the difference between games and VNs, and that is whatewher that app is ment to be read or played and what is a main focus if it has both. While definition of playing could be debatable it definitely isn't reading a story.
  19. But isn't the important part that games are something you play while VNs are something you read? That is a huge difference there. Define "play". Isn't that obvois, has a gameplay. You seem to be more focusing on how VNs and games are made rather then how they are supoust to be used/enjoyed, if you look at that then media such as books and novels are far more simmilar to VNs then games and the only simmilarity between VNs and games really is that they are both digital.
  20. But isn't the important part that games are something you play while VNs are something you read? That is a huge difference there.
  21. You are forgetting time spend here on Fuwa . But Yea I am more or less the same dividing my time between Anime, VNs, JRPGs, Hanging on the net and Other basics things (Eat,sleep etc.) and recently I got a bit of Manga in schedule too. And even true those are all the things I do I still newer have enough time.
  22. If you are only interested in what is completed and released then here:
  23. To you it might be just a silly hobby for others it might be a reason for living in a first place. You can agree or disagree with things people put their priorities in their lives but there is no reason to be rude about it, you might not see what you said as rude but think about it this way. If businessman come to family man and called his love for his family silly and said it shouldn't be important to him don't you think that would be rude of him? Just because you might not be able to see greatness of otakuism doesn't mean others can't. This is also my answer to an OP's question, you should decade what is really important in your life and what is worth finding a time for it. Just remember everything that Otakuism is and that should be enough to let you decide.
  24. I think that VNs are closer to books/novels then they are to games with exception of VN-JRPG hybrids, I myself don't label them as games at all. Also this question : What Visual Novel is your favourite/most likely to recommend? I wasn't sure how to answer as the two are different for me, my num 1 favorite is Eien no Aselia -The Spirit of Eternity Sword- but as it has some gameplay I am more likely to recommend some of my other favorite VNs.
