Confession: I don't understand fireworks. People waste a huge amount of money to pollute the air and litter garbage everywhere. And I'm not an environmentalist or anything, but a car at least has a purpose; Transporting people or objects from one point to another.
Nothing is gained from shooting fireworks. And there are cheaper ways to admire the night sky.

TODAY WE CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF THE GREATEST GODDAMN NATION EVER BIRTHED Y'ALL

For those of you unfamiliar with the country, let me give you a brief summary of the US of A.
    America is located here:

As America has the greatest GDP (both quantitatively and qualitatively) in the world, we trade a lot of things. Our largest export is freedom. In exchange for this 24-carat unadulterated gluten-free freedom, other countries shower us gratefully with oil.

Landmarks of America's culture include the apple pie, baseball, cheeseburgers, and Irish people. The official symbol of America is the bald eagle.

America was founded in 1776 when Thomas Jefferson wrote the Declaration of Independence, in which we said "GO TO HELL" to George III of England, to which George replied "i don't have any power anymore you should talk to the prime minister also we're called great britain now because scotland lost all their money when they tried to colonize panama for some reason," to which we replied, "WE WON'T STAND FOR YOUR MONARCHIC TYRANNICALITY ENGLAND."

So we fought a bloody war and stripped ourselves of the colonial despotism of England, but then we were like "alright we still need to trade with you and stuff so we're cool now."
However, the only form of unity we had back then was the Articles of Federation which kind of sucked, so we wrote the Constitution and subsequently freedomed all over the place.

The first 10 amendments to the Constitution comprise the Bill of Rights. Many argue that the First Amendment is first because it makes us the most freedomy. I draw from this the corollary that the amendments are ranked in order of freedominess. For example, the Thirteenth Amendment, which bans slavery, comes after the Second Amendment, which guarantees us the guns that exemplify our liberty.

With that all established, we then kept moving to the West while sort of pushing away some guys who already lived there, but we let them have tax-free casinos now so it's all cool.

Oh, and when the founding fathers were countryfying the country, they were all like, "Should we ban slavery?" and someone else was like, "Ehhhhh, that'd cause a lot of problems. I'm sure they'll come up with a solution to that later on."
So then we had the Civil War and everything was solved!

All thanks to a guy named Abraham Lincoln, who proclamated the Emancipation Proclamation which banned the shizzle out of slavery. Well, sort of. That's a story for another day.

Then we had a big Industrial Revolution where we prospered but remained pretty isolationist. However, we still wanted our good friend Japan on the other side of the world to be less isolationist, so we sent Matthew Perry over to talk about opening up their borders, and also sent a giant indestructible navy with him because I guess he was a pretty self-conscious person.

Later on, a bunch of European guys were fighting over who's better at faking soccer injuries or whatever, so after they all beat themselves up we went in and finished it all.

And then President Woodrow Wilson was like, "Okay, you guys gotta stop this war shizzle," so he created super awesome peace-keeping international unity freedom organization The League of Nations and invited everybody.
And then we decided not to join it.

“I can predict with absolute certainty that within another generation there will be another world war if the nations of the world do not concert the method by which to prevent it.”
So after a while the Europeans had another world war over whose bicycle was the coolest or something, and this time we got pretty involved.
President Franklin D. socialist-lite Roosevelt brought us through the war against the freedom-hating Nazis and the Chinese-people-hating Japanese people. But he died before it ended so President Harry S my-middle-name-is-literally-"S" Truman saw it through to the end by dropping an atomic bomb on Japan and then told them to make us TVs and stuff.

And then we saw that our former friends Homie Joe Stalin and Mao Zedope weren't cool and they were all like, "Yeah, well you're not our comrade anymore," and we eventually got into a war in Korea and Vietnam and lots of other Ching Chong Chang lands, but then the USSR died of bad economy syndrome and China decided they could instead go to war with us by giving us lots of plastic products and stuff.

And that's a history of the United America of America.
There were also some other significant people and events in America's history that you'll need to talk to a history man about because I'm busy.

And with that, Happy America Day! Go spread the greatness of this nation to all your friends so that they will aspire to someday be America!
(I ACCIDENTALLY POSTED THIS 10 MINUTES TOO SOON I'M SORRY AMERICA)

You might want to consider reading more modern books. With publishing companies losing money, they've recently started cutting down their editing departments significantly, so much so that people are constantly (not really constantly, but constant relative to before ...) complaining of proofing errors. It seems sometimes done by software these days, so you'll get words which are spelt correct but they're the wrong word, and it happens far more often than it used. Which is sometimes funny, cause you see shit like this :3

I think that Audrey's kinda interesting because, from some of the (admittedly limited) dialogue, it becomes fairly obvious (at least in my headcanon) that she has some degree of a trust issue, which she disguises by being nasty towards the protagonist. When this comes into things, the little bits like @Fred the Barber mentioned become that much more rewarding.
...and then I go and bang, like, 10 other girls and a fucking alien, which I'm pretty sure is not helping

It's interesting that they have so many game genres in there. Could this mean SP wants to expand beyond VNs and start localizing actual games?
Some options are kinda bullshit. There's plenty of questions that ask me to rank stuff despite the fact I don't care for 90% of them. For example, I'm never going to own a gaming console, but I'm forced to put a "would very likely play a game in this console" because the survey doesn't allow a different opion.
Or the option about where you get your information from. No matter what choice I make, it always implies I use all the sources, which is not true at all.
I particularly liked this option though

When it first started, I was certain it was the ridiculous number of tea-bag-like-containers of dashi stock that came in one shipment from Amazon. A warning to everybody: when it says "pack of 10", it means 10 boxes with some 6 bags in each box, not 10 servings. Also, they expire in, like, a month.

AaronIsCrunchy reacted to Andrew in Is there any good program for learning JAPANESE?
Don’t use anime has a study guide. Its likes someone learning English by watching Teen Titans. Half the stuff being said is made up and some parts of it aren’t even English!
Dorama (Japanese Drama) is a good substitute. The main reason is because you can hear the accents, versues the voice-acting, and get a good hold of how certain things are pronounced. Also, it helps separate female speech and male speech.
Books! Japanese textbook is a good thing to have. Some are bad, but if you get a good one it could be a very useful resources. College level sounds good. Other books are good too! I have ‘bout.. 4. Things dedicated to certain parts of the language are extra helpful, such as verbs and particles.
Learn the basics. Hiragana and Katakana. The, move on to Kanji.
When on the kanji, start to work on your vocabulary. For all writing styles, learn the proper stroke order and stick with it! Don’t get used to mistakes; bad habits are hard to break.
After some time of working on vocabulary, you should start also working on the grammar. I would do it in that order because it doesn’t make much sense to know where words go if you don’t know any words. When you are at this stage, get an account on something like Lang-8. Its basically a language peer-editing site. Lots of fluent Japanese speakers and natives there willing to help you.
Also, learn 'bout the culture! Don't just go into the language, learn about the culture. The more sense you can make up the people, the more sense you can make up their language. So, subscribe to blogs and news sites (in english of course). Subscribe to anything 'bout Japan and Japanese people and the language that you like. Tofugu is a great place to start at. Japan Probe, Japan Today, Kanji-a-day, and all those places are good.
PS. When you are learning, its best to really.. Say it out-loud. Most of the words you will learn you will hear in a drama. So, say it and hear it so that you know where your weak and know where your strong.
..Don't learn from anime. Like, there are so many ppl thinkin' they speak Japanese when all they are doing is quoting Naruto. Dattebayo!
Its good to get used to speaking the language! So, try to fit as much of the language as you can into everyday life. Like, instead of saying/thinking "Oh, i'm going to be late for school" be like "i'm going to be late go 高校/university/high school/whatever".
Also, use firefox. Its has many plug in's and whatnot that are very helpful when learning 日本語 :] (Make it to where you can type in japanese..good stuff!)

For number 3: most Kickstarters don't throw in a copy of the game until at least $10 have been donated (or £10, or whatever). It's likely that they've run some costing models through to see what kind of figure is the minimum they can sell it for and rounded it up or something. If they get their sums horribly wrong then, yes, they can make a loss, but as long as they don't burn through every penny of the fundraising money then most should have something resembling profit.
Also, +$200 an hour?! Bloody hell. I suppose the acting work isn't a sure thing though, so it needs to be higher than usual.

Even if it was 'just' five hundred thousand, considering the population levels at the time, that's definitely genocide.  To be honest... if this were the secular Turkey of pre-Erdo, it probably wouldn't have caused as much of a fuss, but Erdo and his supporters are religion-oriented politicians and Ottoman nostalgists, just as Putin and his crowd are Soviet nostalgists and the Iranian Republican Guard are Persian nostalgists.
Edit: As much as I enjoy reading and writing on empires, most of them were genocidal clusterfucks after a few generations... founding generations tended to be the most meritocratic and later generations became ever more bigoted and wall-eyed when it came to dealing with anyone different from them.
