  1. This is a good reason to can the OELVN acronym altogether. It's a ridiculously long and unwieldy acronym for a simple concept.
  2. Unless you're including Aqua After this is not true, Himawari ends with a sequel tease/cliffhanger that I found pretty unsatisfying even after reading the side stories.
  3. 8k is a key difference. You're not likely to get a sustained stream of new backers in the middle of a KS.
  4. The Muv Luv Kickstarter plugging them in their KS update helped a lot too. Dies Irae got a big bump from that too.
  5. I just finished 2048 and it has actually sapped me of much of my enthusiasm for it. The pacing was off, it just went on forever and felt like it would never end. The whole route should have been several hours shorter. It doesn't help that I never really found
  6. The Chinese audience for VNs on Steam is probably larger than you think. Look at the geography tabs on Steamspy for things like Nekopara and China is often the top country represented.
  7. And Moenovel outed themselves as being the people responsible for localizing Shuffle by forgetting to edit their template.
  8. How is the localization? I've heard some negative things about the quality of the translation.
  9. MangaGamer probably had nothing to do with it, but Chrono Clock didn't have an 18+ version announced until this Kickstarter.
  10. They are relaunching the Kickstarter mid-September, not releasing the game then.
  11. Audi comes off poorly with all his sarcastic quips. I'm not surprised it has rubbed people the wrong way,
  12. A marketing and distribution deal is a lot more substantial than just putting a game on their storefront.
  13. From Audi's comments the partnership seems a lot more substantial than that.
  14. I don't really have a problem with a Kickstarter being used to sell some physical goods, but it says January 2017 for expected delivery/release, hah. The game is only 31% translated, there's no way it will ever make that date. SP never hits its dates, but they should at least aim for something that is plausible!
  15. This will almost certainly happen, probably next year. 5pb/Mages aren't getting into the self-publishing on Steam business for just one older title.
  16. It's $120 with shipping for US customers... Too bad PQube keeps exclusivity and doesn't let local retailers sell it at reasonable prices.
  17. Why would it be dead? The official localization wasn't even announced all that long ago. Visual Arts just keeps quiet about these things, look at how they stealth release Tomoyo After.
  18. This has been in the works for a while. It was part of the Steamdb leak from last year.
  19. There's no reason to delay a port because of piracy. You actually tend to maximize sales by launching on all platforms at once because that's when word of mouth and marketing is hitting all at once.
  20. What's the initial word on the quality of the revised translation?
  21. You should read the routes in alphabetical order. I/O is a mess, a ridiculous one, but calling it "very good" in a non-ironic manner is a stretch. Just roll with it and be ready to laugh at how dumb it gets by the end.
  22. By internal I meant not using an already done fan translation, obviously everyone uses contracted workers. But it's a management issue if you are consistently unable to find translators that can work at a decent rate (or at a high quality considering some of the work SP has published). The WEE debacle and how they went through like 4 translators is a pretty glaring example of this.
