  1. Yes. I know it's not that much of a spoiler in the overall story, but I also don't really think that just because other games have even more spoilery tags excuses doing it at all. Compare the Steam page's tags to the VNDB page's unhidden tags, and tell me they don't at least partially spoil what's going to happen. The spoiler in the description is much worse, but any spoiler at all is unacceptable for plotge. It shows that MoeNovel doesn't really care all that much about their customer's experience, and how inept they are at marketing if they have to use spoilers in order to get people interested in reading Cross Channel.
  2. I sincerely doubt it. I read ixrec's TL, and the game will make even less sense than it already did (thanks to ixrec, obviously) if certain h-scenes are removed. The MC is also a huge pervert that is obsessed with his porn stash, and repeatedly talks about doing the five knuckle shuffle, so I don't have much faith that that part of his personality will remain entirely intact. Of course, MoeNovel spoils part of the plot in the description. What a bunch of morons. EDIT: Don't look at the tags either, they have spoilers in them as well.
  3. I know. I'm still pretty bummed I'll probably never get to buy an English hardcopy
  4. It technically is, even though they don't own FlyingShine. They made an imprint called Cross†Channel specifically to rerelease CC on PC. WillPlus, through the CC imprint, has rereleased the game twice now, once as a physical reprint, and again as the physical Final Complete edition, which ports the console-exclusive content back to the 18+ version and adds a bit of original content. Hopefully MG already secured it, otherwise we might be screwed
  5. Well...I already gave up on CC ever getting a good translation, so I guess nothing's really changed. Yet another reason to learn JP, I guess. What I find particularly distressing is that MoeNovel is trying to branch out from moege and charage into plotge. Ignoring the whole "censorship" issue (I'm sure we all know everyone's stances on that by now), I don't trust that they'll consistently contract out to translators that are competent enough to handle VNs like CC. Their track record hasn't improved nearly enough for pretty much anyone to expect that of them, since they don't even seem to be able to consistently put out decent translations for moege. I also don't like the precedent of licensing a non-Pulltop game. I'm aware that WillPlus owns Pulltop, and therefore MoeNovel, but so far they've only ruined Pulltop games. If MoeNovel has access to the catalogues of every WillPlus imprint, things could get bad.
  6. I remember that thread on r/vns. Really shitty thing you had to go through, bunny, and I'm sorry you lost your pillar of support in the process. I've lost a best friend I loved and trusted before, and it hurt like hell, so I can empathize with that. Hope you're doing much better now. I've always liked reading your posts here, by the way. They're really interesting, and there's a lot of effort put into research that I think we all appreciate. Pretty much the same reason I don't really post there. I don't agree with the sub's dominant circlejerks, and I dislike just how hostile the place can get if you go against the grain. I just use it to check the news.
  7. No, they're seasonal pairs of Levi's that come with extra storage space.
  8. I should've guessed : P I'm assuming you aren't all that hyped for Summer Pockets, then? Has "soon" ever stopped being a meme?
  9. Long time, no see, bats. Welcome back What are the VNs you're eyeing, by the way? Last thing I remember you reading was Fata Morgana.
  10. Eh...while I'm not particularly interested in the title, I don't think this Kickstarter campaign is a bad sign for MG's future. They were extremely hesitant to use Kickstarter in the first place, so I can't imagine them becoming completely reliant on the platform, like Sekai and Frontwing seem to be. They'd also stand to lose a lot of support if they started abusing crowdfunding, since a fair amount of people that buy from MG seem to dislike Sekai and their business practices. I have to say, their basic tiers are pretty decent. They aren't charging more money to include digital keys with physicals, and the physicals themselves are reasonably priced, which were problems with previous VN Kicksarters by Frontwing and Sekai.
  11. Yup. Just thought I'd poke some fun, since I know where you got the title from. Yeah, I don't really understand why people are accepting this excuse. It sucks that the engine is crap, but that doesn't excuse pushing a product in that state to release, with Sekai having full knowledge of how borked it was.
  12. As much as I would love to see Sekai writing an exposé on themselves, I doubt that's what you'd call this update.
  13. Nope, you're good. You have to submit text in order to send a report, so unless you dragged your fingers across your phone repeatedly without looking at the screen, odds are you won't actually send a report.
  14. Yeah, it really was, considering how easy it is to interpret that statement as "gay and transgender people are degenerates". There is literally nothing else in that sentence that refers to only disliking gay/transgender characters in VNs, and it seems to link being gay or transgender with being a degenerate. It also doesn't list any other qualities these "degenerate" characters have that makes them so reprehensible to him, other than being gay and transgender. I'd say it's pretty hard to say he doesn't come off sounding like a bigot. Then there's the choice of the word "degeneracy", which implies that there's something inherently wrong with their lifestyle itself, and echoes the ideology and speech of homophobes that find the mere existance of LGBT people offensive. So, yeah, that was a pretty unfortunate word choice, if that's what it actually was.
  15. I watched the entirety of the original FMA anime and read most of the manga, and I can assure you, the death of the character you're referring to in no way ruins the overall story. In fact, that's where it picks up. It's a bit of a bummer that you already know that a certain character dies, as it's supposed to be a pretty hard-hitting moment, but it's definitely still worth watching. Nope, that's 100% correct. The first anime overtook the manga and started ass-pulling like crazy. It doesn't even end the same way. Brotherhood is a straight adaptation, other than skipping the first part of the story, which can be fixed by watching the beginning of the first anime.
  16. Are they saying that no new content has been added or and nothing's been removed, but porting it to a different engine has affected the performance? Google Translate just spits out contradictory translations about it being the same yet different from the original release.
  17. ayy using pixiv to surf porn finally paid off \o/
  18. Oh, yeah, definitely. IIRC, Lilith even says to Setsuna that they could bang at the end of her route, and it kinda ticked me off, since it was like rubbing salt in the wound. Don't tease h in an all-ages game, it's not fair (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
  19. How did you get into Japanese entertainment? Was there a specific anime or manga that got you hooked? How did that lead to you discovering VNs? When did you watch Naruto, and do you regret doing so? Also, can you make a list cataloging the top 50 Top 50 VNs You Should Read Before You Die threads? I need to read more of them, but they're just so hard to find
  20. I second the recommendations for Wind Waker and Twilight Princess. They're both amazing Zelda games, and absolutely worth experiencing at least once.
  21. Not exactly classic lit, but I always like to suggest Catch-22.
