    I use 'go through'.

Someone mentioned it before, and I thought it was a good idea.

The strategy I stuck with was to run across one side of the map while taking note of where the values stop decreasing. Afterwards, mark the space X tiles away from Mary. A helpful rule of thumb is to move one tile at a time when using the 3-tile or 5-tile move.

Also, if you go to the VN Reading Club thread for Sharnoth, someone (I believe SoulJustin) posted pictures of the locations to the four voices.

There's nothing other than those options to my knowledge.

Wonderfullyevil got a reaction from Lexyvil in Looking for Sci-Fi VNs.
The immediate Sci-fi to come to mind are the Infinity series (Never7, Ever17, Remember11), Zero Escape series (999, Virtue's Last Reward), the Science Adventure series (Chaos;Head, Steins;Gate, Robotics;Notes*), and YU-NO.

I can't vouch for the quality of Never7, C;H, R;N, and YU-NO, but the rest are rather interesting.

If you want more under steampunk, then the Steampunk series (Sekien no Inganock, Shikkoku no Sharnoth, Ourai no Gakhthun**) will be perfect. They all have minigames though; with Sharnoth's considered to be annoyingly hard or nicely immersing with more on the former.
    (Can't vouch for Gakhthun's quality.)

I'll add a couple of examples to that "dissolve everything" that you don't really realize until you start working in a visual novel yourself.

First is the position of your dialogue and characters. In the past I thought that a lot of Visual Novels were still 800x600 just because they didn't know better, but that's not the main reason. The wider your resolution is, the more separated each of your elements in your novel will become. You need to get your text a lot higher that what you may think in the first place if you want the reader to be able to read and see the change on the sprites while reading. Check it yourselves, pick any VN with a good resolution, and compared where the dialogue box is compared to those at 800x600. You will suddenly notice how there a huge gap between the bottom of the screen and where the text start. Sometimes a smaller resolution makes everything easier for the eye when it comes to focusing your eyes to the screen.

Having the text going from one character to another is not as easy as just "changing the color of the name". When you read your own text is easy to know who's talking because you did it, but give it to someone else and he will probably have issues to know when someone is talking, destroying the entire flow of dialogues by a making him look for the name everytime. Reality is no one reads the name box and it's just there as support so you need to avoid this. The main trick most visual novels use for this are sound for dialogue, let it be voice actors or just beps like in the Ace Attorney series, or get sprites to the side of the box so that way you can know who is talking by the side of your eye. This is specially important when there are a couple character on screen, or if your main character has no sprites so dialogues don't get mixed. There are other techniques like making your sprites go darker when they are not talking, change the color of the boxes, make the boxes appear at different parts of the screen depending who's talking, etc...

Dissolving everything makes everything goes smoother, that's for sure, but at the same time it changes the flow of the of the dialogue compared to normal books A LOT. Now you suddenly have small stops of 0.5 seconds everytime a new character talks. This is not of a big problem most of the time, but there are moments you need your text to be fast or at least get quick reactions from your characters for a bigger impact. In this sense writting a visual novel is completly different to a normal book and you must look for ways to make it don't lose quality or impact with your own words. There's also some techniques like adding sound effects, shake effects, or transitions on the screen to develop this impact in different ways.

Talking about sound effects. They are not as important as you think. Never. In fact, having too many sound effects will even ridicule your text. If you pay attention to movies or anime you will see that a lot of times the sound effects used for some acctions have nothing to do with what the sound would actually be in real life, but again, it's more important to get an emotional or acction-reaction effect from the sfx that everything else. For Visual Novels this makes the sound effects to be less important since the actions and reactions are usually narrated and you won't have many scenes that require this effect. So don't get too frustated to get good sound effects, your music and your text are a million times more important.

And I'll leave it like that for now.

    Shi'ei no Sona-nyl
    Hikari no Valusia
    Kusarihime ~Euthanasia~
Sakura no Uta(I probably shouldn’t mention this due to hype, but oh well.)
Jisatsu no 101 no Tame no Houhou(Seems impossible due to age and rarity)
    Flowers
Makki, Shoujobyou -Lyrical pop world's end(If it ever gets released.)
    CAGE -OPEN-
    CAGE -CLOSE-
    Shingakkou ~Noli me Tangere~
Luckydog1(Preferably one integrated into the game already.)
    Kurai Nichiyoubi - Sombre Dimanche
Kitto, Sumiwataru Asairo yo,(Heard it’s impossible due to style though.)

Basically, Sakura no Uta, Asairo, more denpa, more Liar-soft, more BL, more Yuri, and I’ll be happy. I'm actually surprised on the amount I mentioned.

Cyrano and Ginga Tetsudou are both really cool and can be read immediately. The Tractatus is harder and requires having some prior knowledge of the context in which it was written - basically who are people like Frege, Russel, Wittgenstein himself, what kind of problems they are dealing with, etc. Basically some wikipedia research and reading a few short articles.

About everything majorly referenced in SubaHibi is easily accessible except for the Tractatus. xD I would also recommend The Black Swan by Nassim Nicholas Taleb, it's p cool and relevant too.

There are a whole lot more works referenced in SubaHibi but a certain someone  has yet to complete a list of every single one for the public. >_>

So... there is a vn reading club so why not one for books? I'm really bad at creating topics and doing this kind of stuff but I'll try to do my best, anyone can replace me if they want to because I'm sure they will do a better job.

This month or maybe for this week I propose a really short book that left me speechless the whole way through that I was reading it and it's really short (only a couple of hours of reading)

I think it is free (I saw it on many webs to download it for free)

1 Litre no Namida  is a dramatic tragedy diary written by Aya Kitō published shortly before her death.

The diary, a true story based on her own life, was originally written in first person. It is about a girl coping with her teenage life along with a degenerative disease. She keeps a diary of not only what she does but how she feels and the hardships she must endure. Initially, the diary's purpose was for Kitō to chronicle impressions she had about how the disease was affecting her daily life. As the disease progressed, however, the diary became Kitō's outlet for describing the intense personal struggles she underwent in coping, adapting, and ultimately trying to survive her disease. As she notes in one entry, "I write because writing is evidence that I am still alive."

Finished Down the Rabbit Hole I. I like the random sort of comedy, so it wasn't as much of a drag as I expected which is always good. There was something about the train scene that I loved but I can't pinpoint it yet. Hmmm...

Mid-way through Down the Rabbit Hole II.

Yuki's really cool. <-- Probably least spoilery thing I can mention, lol.

Started up SubaHibi. I haven't gotten far in, but it's fun so far. I like Yuki a lot (frilly dresses ftw). I was laughing so much when she thought she was getting killed. I can't wait for the darker stuff.
Music's really pretty too. I spent a good while listening to Yoru no Himawari during the first scene, and the other tracks too. Especially the one playing when Zakuro's there. I also like Aerodynamics Girls and Boys Poem, though I haven't heard it in-game yet.
