Anime Central Speculation and Announcement Thread
Maxel replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I guess it's hard to find, but all the info is still there. Search deeper, and you'll find it. Frontwing will only attend A Expo. -
My predictions for Anime Boston/Sakuracon: And my predictions for upcoming Anime Central: Mangagamer: Hardcopy (probably euphoria...) Nukige/Hardcopy Nukige Nukige New partner/Moege (Shinkyoku Soukai Polyphonica/ChuableSoft) Good title/Moege from existing partner: 1) Clock Up - Maggot Baits? 2) Alice Soft - Rance? (I think Evenicle is too big to be announced here, also Haruka's been out just for 2~ months) 3) Caramel Box (Surprise us?) Sekai Project: Big title Big/Small/18+ title

Maggot Baits seems possible, same with Chuable, or maybe https://vndb.org/v228 I still think it's gonna be one of their announcements. Also, VA Key have both booth and panel, but I don't think they'll go into details with LB, maybe with Tomoyo After/Harmonia. Who knows. And yeah, don't epect anything huge, big? maybe, huge? not really, it's not AExpo. So: hardcopies, nukiges, and new partner, maybe more drama CDs?

@Nosebleed I heard a lot of shittalk about Yenpress NGNL translation. Anyway, started Hataraku maou-sama, bought first volume on amazon, anyone read couple volumes of it? Would like to hear some opinions.

Is your finnish-english translation a meme?

One guy is probably doing this whole campaign, with his below-average english. He's posting his readied updates every day, and he's happy with it. He also read couple comments every couple days, and he answers: "Thank you for you input." Like some scripted bot. Looks like inre isn't on ship with this Kickstarter, and maybe they also don't allow uncut version. Ultimately they just want Steam money. I PMed them on Kickstarter that if they want Steam money, they should create Steam campaign, and ask them to fund this. Thank god VN community isn't that easily fooled. I hope this abomination will be gone in a month, and we'll hear some GOOD news about Chusingura in couple months/years.

It's gonna be on igg... Flex-funding = they get what they can. And they probably gonna use it to give out limited amount of physical copies(so they can sell them for more at AExpo or something in the future). They also already announced that the game WILL be released in english on Steam and 18+ patch.

(Confirmed fake) White Album on Steam Greenlight
Maxel replied to InvertMouse's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Who knows -
Well, I said my goodbye to Fate Grand/Order. It was really pleasurable journey, full of luck and happy times. I created my FGO account for the sole purpose of rolling Iskandar, and after 70 rolls I did it. And that's how I decided to end my FGO career, and switch to Granblue Fantasy. May the King be with you thought, the true King! Wish you all 5* servant ticket rolls, even Flutterz.

(Confirmed fake) White Album on Steam Greenlight

I think it's a scam too, but it indeed was taken down my Valve once, and now it's back up, so...? -

I wasted like 30 minutes yesterday listing some of the issues on their prefundia page. I don't think this project can be saved, and I don't know if I want it to be saved, not in their hands. The only good thing is the pricing. I don't know why they created prefundia page, it wasn't needed at all. They should just cancel previous KS and launch this one with changed goal to 160k, would be the same. I'll just post what I really think and how I feel right now:

Looks like Tenshin Ranman 18+ won't happen anytime soon, dovac said later that they first have to release Steam version, then they will think about 18+ release, kinda sad... Another kinda bad news is that Chrono Clock/Tenshin Ranman are at quite early stage of translation 10-20% both. Anyway main thing to take from this stream, and the message they're directing at visual novel fans is: "POST ON OUR FORUM THAT YOU WANT 18+/UNCENSORED VERSION, GET XX/XXX OTHER USERS POSTING THAT THEY WANT IT TOO, SO WE CAN SHOW IT TO DEVELOPERS THAT THERE'S DEMAND FOR IT" This probably will work better when the game will be released on steam, and someone on Steam forum create topic asking for 18+, but yeah... The downside is that we won't get simultaneous releases of 18+ version and Steam one, and sales of 18+ version are doomed to be way way worse. It all depends on the devs... I think we need to bash at Frontwing/AKs2 doors more. We also get to know that one of points why SP and Denpa are separate, and SP don't want to release kinky stuff, and leave it to Denpa is because of media coverage.

It certainly isn't 10h long, same with Grisaia Meikyuu and Rakuen. I haven't played them all, so I used times from vndb. That doesn't change the fact that they're taking this amount of money for "editing" terrible translation, and they will release the product on Steam in September. Assuming that KS will end in July, and that's when they will gather the team, I don't think FW will do it before KS, because what if KS fail? That gives the team July and... ? September? Well, okay, it will be the greatest masterpiece people ever paid for then. For 50k$ they should be able to hire profesional team consisiting of 1/2 translators and 1 editor for 2-4 months, because that's how long it would probably take translating 20h~~ VN, working on it full time, maybe less, maybe more. If they are willing to pay for editing this terrible translation (July/September) for 2 months of work, 50k$ that's really, really generous of them. Some translators don't earn that much

Let's start with, where does the english title comes from? Let's continue with, why the hell is "OPENING" (DEMO MOVIE?) not translated? It's probably because they don't have capable translators of doing so. As we all know most openings are quite hard to translate. Key did their job though. It might also suggest that they want to minimalize costs if kickstarter fail, they can abort the mission without losing much money. And now, it looks like they're quite sceptical, by quite I mean QUITE towards core VN fanbase, and the crowd which is gonna try to fund this project. Project which is planning to edit existing superb translation, and make it top tier level. Yeah... Nope. I heard that Sharin no Kuni h-scenes are bad or something, but... I think most people still want uncut version. I wonder what these "..." mean... Figure it out for yourselves. You thought that Root Double devs were mad with shikishi pricing? Well, there you go! They're running for top tier spot with this price. I think they should add something like: Only for 4,000$!! Let's look at the cost breakdown now: Localization costs of Grisaia SERIES - 64,000$ (Frontwing + SP) (50h+/10h+/10h+ = 70h+) Localization costs of Clannad - 56,000$ (Key + SP) (50h+) Localization costs of Muv-Luv TRILOGY - 57,500$ (Age + Degica) (30h+/50h+ = 80h+) Localization costs of Root Double - 36,450$ (Regista + Lemnisca/SP) (50h+) Localization costs of Sharin no Kuni - 49,000$ (Frontwing) (10h+) Sharin no Kuni isn't a monstrous sized visual novel, it doesn't have 100,000 lines of text, yet looks like editing of a translation is quite costly, especially such high quality editing that this VN will probably receive. Let's move further. Development costs 35,000$ I really do wonder where it goes? This visual novel was already translated, engine is old and well-known, because of this there shouldn't be much to do to make it run on english language Windows? Let's also add 7,000$ to that for creating a kickstarter page, and... yeah. There we have 140,000$, it's totally reasonable amount. That should be all for now from my side... I'm disappointed. Can't wait to see their interaction with "fans" if there will be any.
