  1. The main heroine is rather quirky, and there's a foreign chracter who's played by a japanese actor(I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to be based on the manga) and he's exceedingly fruity, but I still liked both characters, especialy Nodame who pretty much stole the show. I really enjoyed the relationship between the two main characters, they're very endearing and I was moved to tears in some of the later episodes, as well as the movies. The great classical music really helped my enjoyment of this show, in fact it's a big part of why I liked this show I guess. Some of the performances are really good.

sounds promising and since ur avatar is of a very cute fuuko i will deffo watch this since u reccomend it

  2. I haven't watched a lot of J-Drama, but I really enjoyed Nodame Cantabile and Shimokita Glory Days. I also started watching The Hero Yoshihiko and the Demon King’s Castle, which is a really funny Dragon Quest parody, but I'm not even done with season one yet.

heard nodame cantibile is very over the top - in what way i dont know - but i read that for every 2 people that like it 2 more hate it, what was your view on it ?

  3. i haven't tried Japanese 3d media, but i guess i'll give them a shot once i get unlimited internet connection. which one should i try first?

If you can handle some super duper tears 1 litre of tears is deffo my main recommend, it truly lives up to its name. in fact it should have been called 1000 litres of tears :P/>

if u prefer a decent love story but not soo much on the sad side then hana yori dango for series or love for beginners, for a movie.

  4. First up hey forum hows everyone been doing.

Now on topic, i just recently got very very heavily into watching jdramas and Japanese movies -

    top 3 so far is

1 litre of tears - this has got to be the most saddest and yet most inspirational thing ive ever seen it.

Love for Beginners - Great movie - was the one that got me into watching more Japanese stuff besides anime

Be With You - this along side 1 litre of tears destroyed any image i had of being manly, their a very dangerous combo :P

Another - Purely watched it coz i loved the anime.

anyway what i want to know is there's website like MAL and Anime Planet where u can keep track and get recommendations for new anime, does anyone know a website where i can do the same for jdramas / movies. Mostly interested in the keeping track part.

    thanx in advance.

p.s. just finished 1 litre of tears so if sum one can recommend something let me know.

  5. Kare Kano, Bungaku Shoujo, Sukitte Ii na yoLooks good will check that and Eureka Seven out.

Currently Watching Acchi Kocchi and i'm loving it :P

    Ano Natsu.

Ai Yori Aoshi. Sadly ive seen those 2 but they where awsome specially Ai Yori Aoshi.

    ^.^

  6. If you have a MAL account, or something similar, it might help to post that up. Otherwise, you'll end up with a lot of suggestions you've already seen. Also, ha! You haven't seen Voices of a Distant Star! Go watch it. It's only 30 minutes long, but its great.

i have anime planet not to fond of mal but its not 100% updated

    http://www.anime-planet.com/users/Leslie1984

The romance aspect doesn't really kick in until season 2 of Spice and Wolf when it pretty much hits you in the face.

guess i will stick it out till season 2 :P

  7. hehe

    5cm/s - seen

Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! - seen

    Rec - seen

i watched maybe 5 episodes of spice and wolf but it didnt strike me as romance anime

Tonari no Kaibutsu-kun seems awsome thou :P but Acchi Kochi wins it looks epic.

thx for recs guys feel free to keep em coming i have lots of spare time :P

  8. Hey guys - Sorry not been to active last few weeks been having alot of pc problems and its ongoing in meantime been catching up on some anime on my PS3. Since you guys Play alot of VN's and i feel alot of VN's deal with romance genres i thought id ask a Favor.

wonder if sum one can help suggest me some anime's.

I'm after a Romance anime. although slightly more picky in some terms.

I like romances that to some extent have a happy conclusive ending. i dislike anime that leave you guessing whether Boy gets Girl or not ? it makes me want to cry lol.

also I'm open to most anime, harem, etchi, new, old, serious, funny, Incest, Girl Love ( although i draw the line at boy love :P ).

not to fond of mecha but if you can recommend an amazing love story id be willing to give it a good bash. Also dislike Artie Fartsie Anime :P hard to explain but anime that Uses alot of visual Cue's etc i enjoy nice scenery etc argh lol i cant explain let me give you an anime example - ef - a tale of melodies -

to list some of my fav love stories.

    Clannad ( Obviously )

    Toradora

    Kaichou Wa Maid Sama

    Love Hina

All Key VN's and Anime Aka Kanon etc.

    Chobits.

    Dusk Maiden of Amnesia

    Etc Etc Etc

I love Romance Anime's where the girl is a little dense when it comes to love, she isn't exactly stupid just oblivious to the concept. And a little bit of humour always helps.

I know its kinda asking alot etc but their just guidelines basically to give you an idea of what i like. so I'm open to almost any suggestion even if they don't fit the above stuff exactly.

    Thx in advance.

    TL;DR

    I Need Some Love Story Rec's :P

    Introduction to the game [iTRO]

    -------------------------------

Clannad is a visual novel developed by KEY, who also developed AIR and Kanon.

The story is presented in standard visual novel format; read the story

until you are given a choice. The choices you make affect how the

rest of the story plays out and what ending you will receive.

Clannad is only available in Japanese, but it is possible

to import the game and download an unofficial English patch.

Clannad has been released in many different formats over the years.

Though for different platforms, all of them (to my knowledge)

have very few differences, so this guide should be applicable to all

versions. I did play through this with the Full Voice version, which

adds (what else?) voices to all of the characters (except Tomoya).

I highly recommend this version if you can find it, the voices add so much

    to the experience.

    ---------------------------------------------

What is the recommended path order? [RCMO]

    ---------------------------------------------

Most paths are independent of one another, though Misae's path

must be completed before doing Tomoyo's path. This will cause an event

to occur near the end of Tomoyo's path that will let you obtain Misae's Light

(see the next section for information on the lights).

Doing a small "minigame" during Fuuko's path will also have some funny effects

on Tomoyo's path, but they are not necessary. There is a guideline order

in the table of contents, if you do the paths in the order I listed.

It isn't set in stone, so you can do any path you wish. Just remember:

    1. Do Misae's path (and optionally, Fuuko's) BEFORE Tomoyo's path. If you don't,

you'll have to play through Tomoyo's path again (or load a save near the

end of her path, before the Misae event triggers).

    2. If you want Tomoyo to get a 64-hit sequence, do most of the other

    paths before Tomoyo's path.

    3. Kyou and Ryou have very similar paths, but Ryou's path is actually

optional. Kyou's, however, must be completed.

    4. After Story picks up after Nagisa's ending, which is why I recommend

doing her path last (so you can have a direct continuation of her path).

The choices you make in Nagisa's path can actually change a small event

during After Story, even though these choices will still result in the

completion of her School Arc path. The choices I use will result

in the "best" (to my knowledge) version of the event.

    ---------------------------------------

What is the goal of the game? [GOGA]

    ---------------------------------------

The game is split into two arcs: School and After Story. Initially,

only the School Arc is available. The goal in both arcs is to find

"Orbs of Light" that you will receieve when you allow other characters

to find true happiness, which is usually (though not always) a result

of finishing their paths. After obtaining enough lights (8 initially,

but may also be 7. See the note for Fuuko's path), After Story will

be unlocked. There are a few more lights to obtain in After Story,

which will culminate in an event near the end of After Story.

Upon obtaining every Orb of Light and viewing the final event, the game

    can be considered completed.

    --------------------------------------

Main Menu, Options and Secrets [MMOS]

    --------------------------------------

After starting the game, the main menu will be displayed.

    1. New Game: Starts a new game in the School Arc.

    2. After Story**: Starts a new game in the After Story Arc.

    3. CG Mode*: Let's you view the CG's you've unlocked, and your % completion

    of them.

    4. Music Mode*: Listen to the music you've unlocked. You must have heard

it in-game to have it appear on the list.

    5. Config: Adjust volume, screen settings, sound settings, etc.

    6. Name: Changes the name of the main character (Tomoya). If you're

using the Full Voice version, characters will still refer to him as

    Tomoya Okazaki.

    7. Exit: Exits the game.

    * Indicates an option that only shows up once you've obtained an Orb of Light

    or a good ending.

** After Story will only appear after you collect enough Orbs of Light

    and finish Nagisa's path.

Also, the Orbs of Light you've collected will appear in the grassy

field on the lower left of the main menu. A story event during

certain paths may remove one of them, but don't worry; it won't affect

the amount needed to get to After Story, and you'll get it back later.

After you finish the game completely, take a look at that space again...

    ------------------------------

    Character Bios [CBIO]

    ------------------------------

Okazaki Tomoya: The main character. A deliquent high schooler with

family issues, but holds on to his hope for the future...

Sunohara Youhei: Okazaki's best friend, also in the same year as him.

Can try to show off or get into trouble alot, but is steadfast in his

    loyalty to friends and family.

Sunohara Mei: Youhei's younger sister. Very mature for her age, as a

result of dealing with Sunohara's antics. Even so, she still looks

up to him and cares for him.

Sagare Misae: The landlady of the men's dorm. Serves as an informal

counselor for the students as well.

Sakagami Tomoyo: An extremely strong girl with a reputation

for beating down thugs. However, she doesn't enjoy fighting,

and plans to run for student council president.

Fujibayashi Kyou: The older Fujibayashi sister. Has a pet pig named

Bo-tan, and often resorts to violence when either she gets agitated

    or someone messes with Ryou.

Fujibayashi Ryou: The younger Fujibayashi sister. Very shy,

but also the class representative for Tomoya's class.

Also enjoys reading fortunes, but their accuracy is debateable.

Ichinose Kotomi: A strange girl who loves books, and is extremely

smart. Doesn't have many friends, and is quite timid.

Toshio Koumura: A teacher at the school. Old, but very

    reliable and helpful.

Ibuki Fuuko: An odd girl who spends her time carving wooden stars.

Speaks in third person, and often zones out.

Hiiragi Kappei: An aloof boy wandering around town, without a home

    and looking for a job.

Miyazawa Yukine: A gentle girl who spends her time in the school's

reference room, serving refreshments. Many different thugs treat her with

    respect and visit her often.

Furukawa Nagisa: A shy, timid girl with a weak body. Dreams of starting

up the school's drama club again.

Furukawa Akio: Nagisa's father. A blunt man who loves his family, and

    bakes for the family bakery.

Furukawa Sanae: Nagisa's mother. A sweet woman who also teaches children

in her house, and bakes bread for the bakery. She tries to experiment

with new bread, but the results don't turn out very well.

Yoshino Yuusuke: A rock star turned construction worker. Just what

    happened to his life?

NOTE: You will NOT receive an Orb of Light after

Nagisa's path, but it is necessary to finish this

path to open up After Story.

    ----------------------------------------------

What is After Story? *Slight Spoilers* [WIAS]

    ----------------------------------------------

After Story is the continuation of Nagisa's ending in the School Arc,

and details Tomoya and Nagisa's life after they graduate from school.

There are still branching paths and Orbs of Light to collect,

which will allow you to progress further into After Story. After

finishing After Story once and collecting all the Orbs of Light,

replay it once more to see the "True" ending of the game.

Events in After Story can change slightly, depending on your

choices during Nagisa's path in the main story. If you want

to make different choices on her path but have already

unlocked After Story, just go back to the school arc and

do her path again. After the ending, you will get an option

to update the After Story arc with your new choices.

There is no "After Story" for the other characters. However,

a game called "Tomoyo After" was released as a different version of

this story where Tomoya ends up with Tomoyo. However, that game is an

H-Game, and (to my knowledge) does not have an English patch

    as of yet.

    -----------------------------------------------

    Spoiler-free Walkthroughs (After Story) [sFAS]

    -----------------------------------------------

There are still multiple orbs that need to be obtained in After Story,

and sometimes you will be unable to progress if you don't have enough.

    --Main Path [MAAS]--

(Note that this is the "main" storyline of After Story, but there are

side stories along this path where you will obtain multiple Orbs of Light.)

    --True Ending [TRED]--

To see the true ending, you must have collected all 13 Orbs of Light.

You can count them on the main menu to see if you have them all. The

main menu music will also have a different sound effect playing. If you

saved after the choice I listed in the main path, load it up and play

through the childbirth scene to go straight to the true ending.

If you didn't save, follow these choices.

    -Don't want either

    -I should stop this soon

    -Run for it

    -Call out.*

*This option will not appear the first time you view the true ending.

The first time through, it will be selected automatically for you and go

to the true ending. If you reach this point again, choose "Call out." to

see the true ending again. Choose "Don't call out." to go to the ending

    of the main path again.

Congratulations! After viewing the true ending, you should have

all CG's and music unlocked, and have finished Clannad!

    -----------------------------

    Extra Fun Stuff [EXFS]

    -----------------------------

There are many hidden scenarios in Clannad, some of them only becoming

available once other routes are completed or certain conditions

are met. All of them have no impact on the main storyline and have no rewards,

though the Xbox360 version has achievements for some of them.

    --Tomoyo's Route Extras--

The 64-hit combo can occur at the end of her path, if you've

completed other routes first. Other characters, including

Yukine's bodyguards, Misae, Akio, and even Koumura will

step in to continue the combo! Completion of Nagisa's route once may

be required to cause Akio to appear and complete the combo though.

After you do achieve the 64-hit combo and see her ending again, replay

the route and go with Sunohara the first three times he tries to prove

that Tomoyo is a man. Instead of starting a combo again, she'll

hit him so hard, his face disfigures each time!

If you performed every prank successfully in Fuuko's path, she will

randomly show up and try one of her many ninja techniques at various

points in Tomoyo's path. STARFISH HEAT!

    --Yukine's Route Extras--

When doing the closet love fortune telling, it is possible to have

Kyou, Misae, Nagisa, and a few other characters take the place

of Ryou. Try getting close to each of them before visiting

Yukine and trying the spell to see what happens!

    --The Baseball Route--

This is a fun route with Akio and other characters! It is possible to

see the laser tag game with other options, but if you don't meet the

criteria for the baseball scene, you will get a bad end immediately

after the tag game. There are multiple outcomes to the baseball game,

but these choices result in winning.

    -Don't do anything.

    -Ignore her

    -Take the lesson

    -Go down to the courtyard

    -Continue talking

-I pity you so I'll make him stop

    -Make Sunohara go buy something

    -The school grounds

    -Not interested

    -Invite her

    -Stop him

    -Strike him with drama

    --Sunohara's Ending--

This is technically a bad end, and you have to disappoint some of the

girls along the way, but it gets pretty funny near the end! You can

also play the "This is the Heartfelt Academy" game if you so wish.

A guide for that is located in the next section.

    -Dub something over it

    -Say something fitting

    -Wake up completely

    -I guess so...

    -Eat it anyway

    -I'm going home right now

    -Yeah, you are

    -Say "Good day"

    -Yeah

*You can choose to search for other manga instead, if you don't want

to play the gamebook. It won't affect the ending.

    --Doki Doki High School--

This is an odd minigame you may play on some random routes. It is

optional whether or not you choose to play or even finish it when

given the option. If you choose an option that leads to a game over,

you can stop playing or retry the story from the beginning.

NOTE: The option to play this game does seem to show up randomly

at times! Try saving a few choices before this option in Sunohara's

path, and load the game again if it doesn't appear.

    -See her off

    -Watch her

    -Confess

    -Shake her off

    -Go with Steve

    -Fight too

    -Open it

    -Shake him off

    -Shake her off

You can choose to ignore the shelf as well, and get an ending

if you then decide to "go left", but you'll still be prompted to

retry as if it was a game over.

    --Jet Saito--

Just wow. From what I've found, you can cause Jet Saito to appear

in two different places. The first few choices are the same, and

split off once you decide where you want to see him. It's a one line

cameo, but this is about the most random thing you'll ever see.

    -Don't do anything

    -Ignore her

    -Take the lesson

    -Ignore her

    -See what's going on

The choices that lead to where he shows up split here. For the

    -Head there to sleep

    -Talk to her some more

    -Go back to class

    -Go straight home

    -Ignore him

    -Go to class later

    -Jump to the right

    -Run

-Find the address to bring it to

    -Introduce yourself first

    -Don't go

    -Don't help him

    For the school hallway appearance:

  10. Tales of Xillia Hits England on August the 9th.

Anyone else looking forward / getting it.

Must say the videos I've seen shows some epic game quality and the fight scenes seem to be just as awesome as vesperia / graces.

Just wish we didn't have to wait literally years to see releases of such great games.

    Tales.of.Xillia.full.766137.jpg

    Counting Down the Days Woooo.

  11. I would say School Days, but I feel it doesn't get the credit it deserves. School Days deconstructed the harem genre (which with the exception of a few works, is a genre I generally hate), so I thoroughly enjoyed seeing how a high school harem would more realistically turn out. I think people hate School Days so much merely because they can't stand an unlikable main character, well get over it! Makoto wasn't suppose to be a likable character, he was a weak, unfaithful douche that was consumed and ultimately killed by his own lust.

Anyway, the real series that I love but never want anyone (other than you guys :]) from knowing I like is Lucky Star. Lucky Star was a show I watched in my earlier anime watching days, and I loved how lighthearted it was. It cheered me up after a day at school. From then, it's turned into the series that I often watch to cheer myself up. But that said, if I had not watched Lucky Star when I did, and watched it now for example; I probably wouldn't enjoy it as much as I did. But I watched it when I did, and as consequence I adore it! (Kagami is my favorite, but Konata comes damn close).

    i enjoyed school days,

It starts so awsomely and seems like a typical harem but by the end boom mind blown

    :P

  12. My top 5

    Taiga number 1 always

Taiga will always be my number one. I love her character not much else to say to be honest. hard to explain but i can relate to her in some ways aswell which i think makes her that little more special than other chars aka Clannad Chars

    1000px-Taiga.png

    Natsu + Lisanna

Not much to say again Natsu is the most inspirational dude in anime history, in my opinion. Neva thought a fighting / martial arts anime will have me choke back emotions lol. I love Lucy and Natsu together but Lisanna and Natsu is destiny :P/>

    Lisanna-and-Natsu-3-natsu-x-lisanna-29947235-290-320.jpg

    Tomoyo x Tomoya

Clannad, My Fav Anime, Although i love Nagisa These 2 just seem to fit soooo much better and i kinda wish that they where the intended hero / heroin of the story.

    1281666739193_f.jpg

Visual Novel - Lilly - Katawa Shoujou

I love Lily since she is just so Mature but at the same time a big kid. Out of all the arcs ( except maybe Hanako ) i felt that Lilly + Hisao just fit together like pieces of a puzzle. Pure and True Love

    Lilly.png

Game - Judith - Tales of Vesperia

Judith hehe She is awesome she spits out alot of innuendo / mature related puns and most of the time its to tease members of the party :P/> just love her.
