Summary
The Seijou Girls’ Academy Kendo Club is traveling to Shoushinji for a summer training camp. Near Shoushinji is an island, Urashima, where it is said in legends that a demon extermination took place long ago.   They arrive around the time of a festival which honors a god that is worshiped by the people of Urashima. The festival celebrates the onitaiji and ensure another year of health for the people. Around the time of the festival, the weather around Urashima worsens and storms will come.   A few days into their training, Osanai Shouko finds a girl washed up on the shores near the location of the training camp. She cannot speak and doesn't seem to know much about herself... Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order
There are five heroines in Aoishiro, as well as a Grand End. The order that you need to follow is Yasumi, Migiwa, Kaya, Kohaku, Nami, Grand End.

I'd like to take this chance to mention that Duolingo (both the website and the app) vastly improved the japanese tree over the last few years, it's not perfect by any means but if you're bad at learning from the traditional means and need a more game-like approach it is really useful for beginners.

Yeah it has its problems, but it can be useful and it's always a matter of personal preference. Just wanted to give an alternative that helped me quite a bit at the very beginning and after taking a 3 year break (pretty much what was also more positively mentioned in that video) because at least now it's not a complete mess like the first versions anymore. I never tried the three you mentioned, there are too many tools and apps out there and i just looked for something to start which was fully usable without paying anything.
I also agree that nothing beats reading but some people feel like running into a wall at full speed without using such inefficient ways first.

Story
Introducing Ayumi Suzume, a misunderstood high school girl that has been thrown to the side and alienated by her peers for most of her entire life. Confused, and never really understanding why that was, she eventually took her outcast image to heart.
Alongside her, her trusty friend Keiko who has been there for here since they were little kids. They've always had each other when things got too tough. Always taking care of the other when they're not able to do so themselves.
Enter the present day...
Due to some strange circumstances Ayumi finds herself in trouble once more. Only this time, she can't rely on her best friend to get her out of it.
Instead, she will have to rely on the kindess of someone who is a complete stranger to her.
Someone with a very special skill that her best frined since childhood lacks...
Together, the two of them must solve the mystery that put Suzume in the position she now finds herself.
With her very fate hanging in the balance, will she finally learn to trust those around her?
Or, will her initial thoughts prevail?

Marvelous Japan has announced that Loop8: Summer of Gods will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch in Japan on March 16, 2023. They also announced that the Steam version will launch on March 21, 2023. This one will be published by XSEED Games. Loop8 was first announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct on the 9th of February 2022 - damn, that long ago already, wow!
While Marvelous Japan has announced the release date for the Steam version already, the western published Marvelous/XSEED have not confirmed this as of yet.

Personally, I never got into this series, but the girls are cute and there is a huge amount of Da Capo games out there. A former member of this forum called @ParanoidGegnar, who is now a christian missionary of sorts was a giant fan of the series and had written a review of the Sakura Edition with most of the Da Capo games and soundtracks on Visual-novel.Info.

Since I got nothing valuable to contribute to this, you can check the review here and be overwhelmed how much stuff you have to play before D.C.5 becomes relevant to you.

If you followed twitter, you have probably noticed that the official Aksys Games Europe account posted, that they will soon have a warehouse opening in Europe. This warehouse will be located in Hungary, a country known for its current terrible economic situation, but this goes beyond the point. The point being that people from Europe can now order the Standard and Limited Editions of their inventory much cheaper and without abhorrent customs fees or custom holdup.

The Aniplex Online Fest 2022 was celebrated today and they held a near 6 hours long event for it. The event got a ton of interesting moments, industry personalities speaking, voice actors performing among other things that make the otaku's heart flutter greatly. In Fuwanovel's context however, the most relevant section were the six minutes featuring new trailers and announcements during the Aniplex EXE section.

The entire event was dubbed into English by interpreters who sometimes struggled with certain proper nouns and Japanese net slang, but there was also a certainly machine translated captions subtrack which you should rather ignore because it just outputted nonsense most of the time.
If you have 6 hours of free time, there are a lot more things to enjoy.

From the popular EVN developer Ebihimes, we have a release of a new game. It is called Dreamy Planet and it is an atmospheric Yuri visual novel that focuses on a "ruinous relationship between a pair of estranged childhood friends". The setting of the game is an abandoned theme park! The game is available on Steam and itch.io and costs around 6 dollars, with 10% discount during the release week.

I just looked, at least for me it's not listed on steam yet. Not an issue of course, i just like to use the wishlist to keep track of all the announced games that might be interesting.

Success announced a remaster for the two games, coming to Switch and Steam in 2023, as well as a Chinese and English localisation.
 

True, but the MCs usually do a terrible job at even trying to avoid it so it's worth a try.

Operetta Due and Dramatic Create announced that Koezaru wa Akai Hana (en: The Crimson Flower that Divides: Lunar Coupling) will be released on Switch and Steam in Japanese, English, and Chinese next year.
Here is the announcement on Twitter. 
Koezaru wa Akai Hana was originally released in 2012 as an 18+ Otome Game. Two years later an all-ages version (17+) was released for PSP and later for PS Vita as well.
We don't know yet if the Steam version will be the original 18+ version or the all-ages version. But to be save we should expect the all-ages version.
Still, as there are very few 18+ Otome Games playable in English I hope there will be a way to play the original version as well.
I personally know of the game from review/summaries made by JP players. I don't know if I'll like it due to the subject matter but I will try it out!

My experience with Japanese and Korean fiction says that this plan always fails miserably.

Not really have one currently, but probably something like that:
-Getting close to a mental breakdown because there seemingly can't be a single section of my life that isn't turned upside down the moment it seems to stabilize
-calming down and realizing the pros like no longer being ugly, getting out of our messed up world into an at least more interestingly messed up one, new books to read and so on
-(doing the obvious)
-if necessary (meaning it's not a yuri/shoujo-ai pure romance story) getting as far away from the main story as possible!
-try to turn it into said yuri/shoujo-ai pure romance story (and probably fail ending up with a similary boring live as right now)

Are there any like this? A romance/wholesome VN with monster girls that has a plot and specific routes (not translated is fine)

At the current point of time no, I'm only 26 though.
And as I love to escape into daydreams because my real life sucks (screwed up my attempt to study physics now being an incredibly bored Elekctronics technician, over time lost contact to every single one of my friends and being both too shy and boring to make new ones, I'm looking forward to a very lonely and forgettable life...) and I really miss the days when I was still a bit more naive and idialistic, so I'll probably always like settings like that.
