You will pretty much collect all three star and below servants in no time if you regularly free-spin daily. Every players' first roll nets them a four star character, aka your Bathory. Currently in the NA version Elizabeth Bathory is the best Lancer.
I have only been play since the NA release, so I don't know how much my tips are worth.. but here they are.
    - Grails are a pretty limited resource there is no way to generally farm them so only use them on your favorite servants.
    - Only spend saint quartz if you can do a full spin (30), you are guaranteed a four star card.
    - Don't expect to get a five star servant, like ever. The rate is 1% and while we are at it, don't expect a four star servant, their rate is 3%.
    - Log in daily to rack up rewards.
    - Save apples for events.
    - You can change your uniform (if you have different ones) on the Party Setup menu, it's the master equip button on the bottom left corner.
    - Read the Learning with Manga! it's fucking gold.

Really that's it? Seems like a standard case of poor communication that often comes from amateur projects like this. I am not saying it isn't a problem, but compared to some of the other vn kickstarter disasters it's relatively tame.

Soulless Watcher got a reaction from Dreamysyu in New Steins;Gate Elite is just stills from the anime re-purposed as a VN.
SG0 was more than adequate, considering that it was nothing but a collection of spin-off material re-purposed as a midquel. However, even if they reused existing properties they still had to do extensive rewrites and create new art assets for the game...... this, this is some next level lazy shit. I thought it was fucking joke.
They may add some new content in, there is quite allot of the visual novel that didn't make it into the anime, but if they were..... why didn't they showcase that in the trailer?
I get it 5pb, Robitics;Notes and the Chaos titles don't draw the same attention that SteinsGate does. I'm fine with working the name recognition into the ground, but you have to put effort into the product.

Jesus Fucking Christ, that was a bit of a rollercoaster. I spent 120 of my stored free quartz and got nothing of value but about a dozen four star essences and like three or four five star. I promptly broke my "never pay micro-transactions rule" and purchased the highest value of quartz and kept spinning. Got a shit ton of essences again. On my second to last spin I got a Tamamo Cat, which I would have been happy with... if I got that with my free quartz. On my last spin, God had mercy on my soul and I got a Nero AND a Altera.
    THANK FUCKING GOD.

Soulless Watcher reacted to Mr Poltroon in Does faithfulness add value to an adaption?
Since I watched it to see all my favourite moments animated, I did not have too much of an issue, and rather liked it.
Therein lies the problem. With everything.
It shouldn't, but the existence of a "source material" affects one's enjoyment of an adaptation. It's not something people can just avoid. Just another application of my final sentence in the previous post.
Ideally, things would be judged for what they are and nothing else, but that's not what happens. "Faithfulness" is a useful concept, but a lack of it should not lead one to dislike the material. It does, because it often leads one to think "it could have been better", even when such is not true. People who complain about lack of faithfulness have already been 'spoiled' about a version of the story: they know what happens and how, and thus its harder for them to clearly see how a removal of a scene would make the overall product 'better', so to speak. It seems likely that the ones who complain about a lack of faithfulness are the ones who thought the original material was good -- if it were bad, they would not care; therefore, it's not an inherent less=bad or not faithful=bad argument, it's also a mix with fandom and cult behaviour of "How dare you defile my favourite manga! Where's the scene where the main character was brushing her teeth in the morning?! Without it the entire story loses all meaning!!1".
There's still plenty of more reasonable people who think "Scene A was boring and served no point, I hope they leave it out in the adaptation" or some such. Or simply do not care. As always, I presume these to be the silent majority.
All of those points you mentioned are points I made as a hypothetical reaction a fan might have to an adaptation, for people who never watched/read other versions are not affected by said issues. I'm sure not all fans fall in these categories. I don't, for instance, and like to simply take things as they come. Changes aren't a problem so long as the overall product is good.
But I don't believe any fan can be completely unaffected when watching an adaptation of something they love. If a fan doesn't think it is as good as the original there will be that small inkling in the back of your mind that will affect your enjoyment. Somebody who already knows the whole thing is less likely to be involved "in the moment", and instead may be looking at the big picture the whole time, and this affects how one perceives things. Experiencing a faithful adaptation is definitely affected by how good the material is at being rewatched/reread: Some products are simple entertainment or thrillers or emotion-hooks that aren't meant to be as good (or at least the same sort of experience) the second time around. A more vocal fan may try to latch onto any available excuse, such as how faithful it is or is not.
So yes. I maintain the initial ideas I had about fans. Some want to re-watch things just in another medium; some want to watch all the good bits in a different form but don't care about the rest; some want something new and different done with the IP. The first two groups are the most likely to complain at the lack of faithfulness (the second group if a scene the person wanted to see didn't make it). Finally, when any fan feels that they aren't enjoying it as much 'isn't faithful' is the easiest excuse to use, even when it may not be the correct one in any particular case. All of this is exacerbated by the fact that even when the product the adaptation creates is good, but not as good as the original, fans are more likely to label it a bad product or, more commonly, a bad adaptation. Again, the cause is generally attributed to lack of faithfulness, for its easiest to identify.
I have no particular opinions one whether transitioning between media should require large changes. I haven't looked, but I can think of no particular examples where a transition between mediums would be impossible or heavily degrade one of the versions (except for more apparent things like an anime about colours transitioning into black and white manga -- and that's still manageable! There's no lack of manga about music and other topics manga is not necessarily equipped to reproduce).

This all said, I'm not very good at talking about such abstract and hypothetical concepts, so if anything makes no sense, do not mind it.

Soulless Watcher reacted to Narcosis in Dysfunctional Systems Episode 0 Trailer
To speak bluntly, I'm not expecting much from Dischan since Doomfest decided to part his ways with Jeremy. It's obvious that Ryan - the new artist, who replaced Doomfest - is trying to mimic Doom's style as much as possible while trying to retain his own, but there's no way he'll be able to fully replace what was lost. Doom's art was one of the things, that made Dischan's works so good aside from Jeremy's writing; not to mention, it really did fit the Dysfunctional System's mood. Without it, it's not the same story any more. Such art style swaps should be avoided at all costs in games of this type.
Aside from that, Dischan literally closed all the doors after their fiasco, alienating the remaining part of their fanbase; one that was still willing to support them. Instead going on a hiatus to sort out all the matters, they went as far to announce closure. Dischan is like the ABC of what devs should avoid during production.
I'm not really sure who's going to play this, neither to whom is the game addressed. Large part of their previous player base lost all the interest, after they called it quits and their unprofessional approach to PR and business afterwards only reassured them they did the right thing.

Some older VNs are just awesome...  but most suck.  If you replace the music, Tsukihime is awesome.  It is good even if you don't, but it reminds me of why I got into VNs, since Tsukihime was my first (within nine months I was playing in Japanese, lol).

This has been a viable business strategy for developers within Japan for years already. Since their experience stems mainly from working within extremely competitive and oversaturated market I don't see any sort of positive conclusion in our case either, as the market demand clearly prefers such games over full-blown titles spanning across 50+ hours. The risk involved in production of high-quality, ultra long titles often greatly exceeds possible gains; you'd have to be either crazy or insanely rich to ignore these as a japanese developer.

Chrono Clock actually had some interesting ideas though and the premise was a good draw for readers, nothing was really done with them, but at the very least there was a spark of creativity. Not to mention that there was actual sexual content for those who wanted it.
This, just feels like they are selling the cover art. Especially, considering this is already the second all-ages spin-off of, if Clephas is to be believed, a much better title.
I don't hate the title, I understand the need and the marketing decisions behind it, but it's hard to get particularly excited for it knowing it will be a short title, more then likely much shorter then Chrono Clock, with little substance.

Sadly there are not many visual novels that focus on decision making on the part of the Reader. Pretty much the only visual novel that I know of that doesn't have heavily static routes, would be Cinders a retelling (if you so choose) of the Cinderella story that has allot of choices and allot of ending variants.

This reminds me of a minor spat I got into with another fan of Madoka Magica, a rather homophobic one, who was quite upset that the original author of the storyline said in an interview that Sayaka and Kyouko would have become a legit romantic couple if they had survived the events of the show. One way to look at it, is that the god of the world is clearly stating the intent of his creation. That there is no other way to take it. The alternative I posited was to discount the Authors'  intent, that by applying the ideas of "The Death of the Author" there was nothing in the show itself that definitively pointed to romantic feelings between the two characters and that their relationship could have been clearly taken a different way.
To care about what an author (or company especially) declares as "canon" is to discount your own ideas and views about the work, and instead blindly accept what an authority figure states.
