  1. Looks like some of the best were already recommended. (nichijou, danshi koukousei, gekkan shoujo) Servant X Service School Rumble Hare nochi guu Azumanga Ichigo Mashimaro gto might be too much drama i guess.
  2. Well rance 5 was almost done so it is partially true. Well another good reason to learn japanese. I was pissed off when they dropped daiteikoku, now i don't care as much. Sucks they're not jumping in with something big like daiteikoku or rance games.
  3. I guess it comes with experience ;P You must have been caught few times and went like whatever. Honestly though i'm only hiding shit from my family, prolly because of habits i made as a kid ;P Not that i'd be ashamed it'd be just awkward. Among friends i have no trouble talking about stuff that'd offend 90% of people or stuff many would be too ashamed to mention ;P
  4. Rance has H-scene every 5 minutes and it still is fuckin awesome. I think i had friction burns and dehydration after this game. Fortunately i got good @ watching pron as a kid so i avoided anything critical as yours. Though i had once a situation while browsing web when my mother suddenly came home from work and doors were unusually unlocked. Of course i quickly decided to close all tabs, unfortunately pc was quite outdated back then and browser didn't have popup blocker.. each page i closed opened few more, some of them were really insane.. being quick to react i of course gave up on closing and ctrl+alt+del to kill the process.. unfortunately by then my pc got overloaded and just kept on throwing various porn websites on top of another.. Assessing my situation and viable options i calmly said 'fucking viruses' and pressed reset button.
  5. Well most recently Grisaia no Kaijutsu, amane route.. This one made me unable to continue other routes for a while.. well i still didn't pick up others even though i've cooled down. Anyway stuff that can make me depressed ain't necessary something that would get someone else depressed i can get depressed by some really weird shit and completely get over some stuff that'd depress others.. i guess it depends on genre.. especially in war oriented stories shit that'd be depressing tends to make me excited because it means it's gonna get interesting. Still i honestly hate when i get depressed by game/story, i'm suffering from depression so this sort of feeling is something i prefer to avoid.. That is assuming it's strong enough to actually affect me. I'm guessing there might be other games but i prolly don't remember it anyway. Oh and no harem routes.. those tend to make me depressed too... well not depressed but it pissess me off when i cant get them all.
  6. Yeah i'll agree that memrise might be good for starting, what i'm concerned about is mostly kanji, after all sign has a meaning, on readings, kun readings etc... i think it might be not enough for that.. On the other hand, been done with heisig for a while, went for tae kim's book.. Good next step after reading it i can see why next recommended step is to translate. increasing vocabulary and enforcing the grammar understanding will be needed. I'm only concerned about learning various readings for kanji now. That is i still tend to forget mistake etc kanji. Keep doing anki cards and it takes a while most often with characters that have similiar meaning or word so obscure in english i keep forgetting it (not my native language). Also learning different readings should help in the long run so i'm wondering about relearning kanji using proper way now, after all i have a base and i keep doing flashcards every day, might as well start going for the new stuff... but i'm worried it is gonna confuse me or something. On the good side after watching ~700 anime series pretty much have a lot vocab somewhere in my brain that gets sorted out or starts making way more sense when i learn the grammar I thought conjugations are gonna be hard but it seems like i pretty much have a lot of examples burried somewhere in my head that only needs sorted out and a bit of practice to enforce the rule understanding for more difficult cases. Oh well i'm taking easy atm since i decided to keep this time for rest (witcher 3 release) but hell once i beat the game i guess im gonna start going all out on trying to read novels. Maybe by then my kanji memory will get better and i'll be able to start learning on/kun readings.... if not i'm sure it'll get reinforced during novels. I still didn't get hooked on memrise though, oh well mabe once i start putting more effort again.
  7. In case of anki vs memrise. In my case i'm using anki droid with whtieboard, might be good if you also plan to remember stroke order etc. Though i'll be switching to memrise soon, i just finished heisigs rtk, i'll stick with anki to reinforce those while slowly moving towards memrise, i've been playing with it and it felt nice but a bit chaotic and to be honest all i went through was stuff i already remembered so it was hard to judge wether it's useful. After all while i feel drawing kanji while i remember it helps while learning atm it seems to take too much time. Once i feel comfortable with drawing all characters (prolly in a week or so i'll prolly stop that, after all i'm learning to read not write ) Just to be clear i'm not saying writing is a valid method of learning.. learned it quite fast, i originally kept writing each character a lot of times untill i realized it doesn't really make much difference aside from getting the feel for writing order. edit: after trying it out.. well there's way too much useless courses.. Anyone knows any good ones ? I can see how it's useful for example when it comes to kana or some simpler languages but i dunno about japanese... besides i ain't sure how it sorts out stuff you don't know does it track time or only mistakes ? Cause i always try to answer correctly, thing is some things i can answer near instant cause i know it, some other things require quite a bit of thinking and i feel i havent learned those yet. There's also a matter of answers, rather than thinking whole thing quite often you end up picking on from ready answers which is much easier and might affect learning... For now i still feel like i'm more likely to learn something through anki method than memrise, but might be i didn't have enough experience with it.
  8. Yep reading should be fun part, but then again doing vocab flashcards should ease it up in a long while, Shouldn't really be too much of a problem though, 600+ anime pretty much made me able to discern sounds and understand some of the sutff that's going on, reading was always the thing that scared me the most. Doing some vocab and figuring out grammar should be enough to get the text after a while, prolly only thing i fear is conjugations but the more kanji you do more confidence you gain I also noticed heisig ain't exactly needed but i plan to stick to it, first there's the confidence and good habits, second is the fact that before looking up a kanji in dictionary would be insane, now ? you start to get the feel for the writing system, also it's a good base in the long run, after you feel you're confident with kanji you can always start adding kun readings, later on readings etc.. Anyway i guess i should make a list of manga for re-reading once i'm done with heisig and grammar. I pretty much expected this step but i guess i'm gonna have to start it earlier than i planned. Oh well that's mostly good part, that's how i learned english after all Anyway thanks a lot for info Got a lot of time as long as i don't burn out i hope to get hang of it before persona 5 launch
  9. Hey, sorry for digging out an old topic, anyone Managed to learn jp this way yet? I've pretty much set up similiar program for myself quite a while ago and found this topic through google. atm i'm at 760 kanji doing 20/day, though i guess i'll increase it to 25/day. I've also pretty much practiced writing them a bit more. Personally i've been planning to do the vocabulary + conjugations next, though i guess i might jump onto to the grammer part as well. .
