Eshully and Toneworks (neither have a single official translation) are the 3 I can think of and there are likely many more.

Pretty sure it´s also a matter of how much localizer xy is willing to pay. eushully for example is not against someone officially releasing their titles in the west, just the amount of money they´ve asked for (sekai in this case), seems a little offputting. guess same pretty much goes for some others as well, which might change over time (devs getting into financial shenanigans etc), or not. & with now DMM proactively stomping the loc market you can´t really predict anything anymore

  2. pouring a lot of (limited) ressources into titles, that caused a company going bancrupt, does sound like a smart decision, undoubtably so. granted few of these been an okay-ish read, but still....

I'll give you the same advice I give any and all new VN fantl groups.  Pick something short and easy for your first project.  It is tempting to answer a fan wishlist or fan demand, but VN translation is completely different from anime or manga translation, both in difficulty and in length.

this, and since your taste in galge most probably isn´t the same as the ones who did suggest xy, it´s more likely than not you´re going to give a fukk and drop it altogether

A VN Kickstarter with a 180.000 $ goal - that's quite... ambitious. It's a popular Key VN so it has probably good chances to reach it

key-fanboys are plenty and so is their backing as well. no doubt this goal´s getting reaching pretty soon-ish

    Hello everyone,
I'm back with another progress update ^^......

......But in any case, thank you for reading, and see you next time ^^.

sounds like great news so far, well excluding the thingie about glupak, so congrats on successfully pushing through.
& regarding what possibly comes next, you might wanna look at ninetails older titles, as there´s some real good stuff in there, eg. eve, amatsukaze & whatnot.

i'm so happy Tsurezure Scans are back and they translating Gin'iro, Haruka . my opinion after completing common route: i like it a lot,and Hinata my favorite so far,she remind me Natsuki from Hoshi Ori,witch was my favorite girl.Speaking of Hoshi Ori so far i like it far more that Gin'iro, Haruka ,but i comleted only common route of it,and i feel like common route of Hoshi ori was better than Gin'iro, Haruka's.

hoshi ori´s common route was pretty good, yeah, but gin´iro´s only makes out what feels like 2% of the whole game, so it´s not really representative...

Bethly route first followed immediately by Hinata? These guys really know what they're doing :sacchan:

    >nonchalantly translating its common route + the 2nd longest of the game alongside his thesis proposal and whatnot

talk about making people (me included) feel like ass scratching monkeys...

  8. no wanting to lessen the "surprise", but somehow i already expected this. irru´s a cool dude that enjoys interacting with moefags & trip´s metamorphosis from beast into a 1000+ line eating monstrosity at breakfast already started during him marathonning tsujidou, irreversibely so. anyhow best of luck to both and guess 4chan´s on fire right now

Instead of doing everything from scratch, which is a huge pain, I suggest you contact Astro, the lead translator of the previous translation project. He already got the whole thing translated, just not edited, so with some luck, maybe something will happen.

    https://cloverdays.wordpress.com/

pretty sure and going by astro himself, there´s been publisher xy who prevented them from releasing anything (officially and not). dunno if he´d just give away all that´s done so far, quite possible others may have asked him already, but to no avail. and even if dyntec were to create a new project, it´d be obviously better to do so whilst staying under the radar as much as possible.

Well, Jast USA is going to take a very dim view of you ruining their investment like that.  (Because that's exactly what they'll think of it.)  The title is licensed, so it's off limits.  "10 users" on this forum can't give you Jast USA's blessing to continue (because they're not Jast USA).

Jast USA cannot simply ignore someone continuing to fan TL a game they're working on, after they've publicly announced they're doing it. If you don't stop, first, you're being very inconsiderate to them.  And second, you put them in a situation where they have no choice but to formally DMCA the project.  And given the number of people associated with localization companies (like the official Frontwing account) that post here, you should assume they're going to find out about it.

If you're trying to learn Japanese, then it doesn't need to be this game, specifically, does it?  The game someone else paid the original creator to get dibs on?  Just do yourself a favor and find a different game.  There is no shortage of good games that aren't licensed.

hasn´t to be this game. like others mentioned it´s already licensed and you´d have to do it whilst staying under the radar + it might come out not that much longer after your release (ideally speaking). why not instead try your hands at ninetails older titles, almost each and every of them is an actual gem, with little to no chances of getting picked up officially.

Thank you for the kind words and the support! Honestly, these are things that often bother me about EVNs too, so yeah, definitely understand where you're coming from. "Be the change you want to see," or what is it they say? haha.

i don´t even know why the vast majority of devs keep using those minimalistic looking fonts or ui in general, totally destroys any and all immersion. like it´s a product where ones main focus lies on reading, so why that stuff. worst examples are where them sprites and backgrounds are kept cute/ fantasy-esque, and contrary to that you get an interface/font which looks like straight out of the 90s.

Is this really true or a bad joke?! Conjueror was still a young guy, how could he just pass away?

It would be absolutely shocking if that's true.

you know not everyone just naturally dies at old age, illness´s and accidents exist. regardless big loss for the community and from a human aspect as well.

    Ey!

Im thinking about start the saga of Kyonyuu Fantasy, Kyonyuu Fantasy Gaiden and Kyonyuu Fantasy Gaiden 2.

I dont know nothing of the saga but it seems like the type of medieval plot with high h-content. am i right?

I want to know if this saga have a good plot story or is just h-content for skip. Anyway, if you have any recommendation of VN with really good plot and scenes of war/medieval/conquest type, i will be really grateful.

(already played bunny black, eiyuu senki, rance and kamidori)

    thx!!

contrary to many nukige it does have sth called plot (even an entertaining one), but to be honest its omnipresent feature is them cowtits - and if you´re into these then you´ll most probably fap like a horse. if not, well, then you´re going to be sickened by at least 50% of everything.

It is an option, but selling their stuff through other outlets does cut into profits greatly.

that´s only in an ideal environment, but since payment processor-esque shenanigans do happen to them more often than it should, selling some games wherever - even when a cut is taken - is better than none.

Well, yeah, isn't it what I've been saying here for the last week? MG announcements during the last 2 years are super-understandable from the business perspective but their focus has shifted and those aren't aimed at people like me anymore plus they decided not to take up any gambles for now. It's not a question of being able to explain the announcements, there's nothing easier, look up my post about their top sellers on steam or MG blog with year's sales and any doubts will be cleared with simple cold numbers.

hapymaher aside, which apparently generated enough for warrenting hardcopies, almost all of mg´s recent tries at plotge pretty much screwed them hard sales-wise, eg. a bit of gambling is fine in itself, but given the meak numbers a la sorcery jokers etc that´s......

  16. 1 hour ago, ArgentstR said:

While I wouldn't put the Hapymaher TL on the level of "absolute butchery" it does feel subpar, and I do think that Chrono Clock's TL is better. I've been hoping that if the Hapymaher FD gets an ENG release, it doesn't get the same treatment as the original.

let´s not forget that hapymahers jp-version wasn´t much different in this regard. while the story been (arguably) great, linguistically it was definitely not, and without me excusing lazy editing, had they gone all out, means turning it into a real pleasure to read then quite some people would´ve called the tl an abomination, or fanfiction for sure.
