1/8/16 - Updates, Feedback and Bugs
Segai replied to Tay's topic in Community Coordination and Feedback
Slight bug: No space and colon between the label "Location" and the user location. -
I doubt Windows 10 is the issue as I can run it just fine on my Windows 10 laptop.
-
Well, the error it's giving isn't that useful as it's only saying that it failed to open. Did you reboot after setting the system locale?
-
would you be embaressed to have these in your room?
Segai replied to Justin579's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Probably, but I would never have a figurine in a sexual pose/outfit anyway. I like them pure. -
Perhaps not as much of a supporting character as the other ones on this thread but Gasai Itsuki made Coµ for me:

Greetings and meetings from the land of chocolate, beer and waffles~

Blasphemy! Welcome to the forums Bart, hope you enjoy your stay. - A fellow Belgian -
Technically it was The Flower Shop: Summer in Fairbrook but I never finished it as it wasn't interesting. Katawa Shoujo is the first one I finished and the one that got me hooked 100% into the medium.

What is the one trait that makes you instantly like a heroine?
Segai replied to Dergonu's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Perhaps not a trait but the voice does it for me. After that, it's comedy. If a character can make me laugh then it's all good. -
That is really good art. Have you contributed to any Visual Novels or are you planning to? I'd love to see your art with a good story.

If your High School experience were a VN, what ending did you get?
Segai replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
Considering I went to a STEM school and there being 2 girls in total, it was like an extremely boring VN where absolutely nothing of interest happened. -
Do you need approval/recognition from others?
Segai replied to InvictusCobra's topic in General Discussion
Yes and no, while I don't need confirmation of my every action it sure feels good to hear someone thank you or say "good job today". I'll still do things I want to do whether or not someone praises me for it but I'd be a liar if I said I didn't get motivated by hearing praise from someone. I wouldn't go out of my way to request praise though, like "Did I do well today?". -
(Feedback) IPB Chat App vs New Chatbox Option
Segai replied to Tay's topic in Community Coordination and Feedback
As long as we can get avatars and possibly message editing on the IPB chat, that'd be my preferred one. -
How do you deal with people being better than you?
Segai replied to InvictusCobra's topic in General Discussion
I'm generally terrible at most games I play which is why I like playing Co-Op with a more skilled friend of mine. I'm a follow and support kinda guy. Or I call terrible strategies and get everyone slaughtered in hilarious ways, both are pretty fun. Having people be better than you in PvP can also be fun, the feeling of payback after he defeated you 10 times is sweeter than honey and it makes you a better player. A more "real life" example would be racing. I sometimes do kart-racing at a local track and while I'm not that good at it, I still manage to land in the top 10 of the day usually but not anything more. I've noticed that my lap times improve so much more when i'm actively following someone better than me. You learn the racing line from them and learn to find grip, deal with situations, and Keep a steadier pace. And no noobs to be in your way on small sections or shove you aside because they have 0 situational awareness. tl;dr: competition makes us better. -
While not a sidekick, I nominate Gasai Itsuki from Coµ as he is rather important to the plot and is generally a well-written, awesome character.
-
I like them simple.

G-Senjou no Maou, it's a god damn masterpiece and I love it. Also best bad endings, this is how it should be. Katawa Shoujo, H-scenes as they should be done and a very good story. Ever 17, even though it was insanely long, it kept being interesting and was rather satisfying. Steins;Gate, it's choice system is a bit quirky but this is still one of the best stories of all time. Grisaia no Kajitsu, MP is a badass and the character stories were good. Amane's kept dragging on though.. Coµ, interesting plot and the ending was just brilliant. Also Gasai Itsuki best guy forever. Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai!, not all routes are equally good but still a very fun VN to read. Hoshizora no Memoria, except for Chinami who is god damn annoying, all characters had an interesting story. Also stargazing! Kono Oozora ni, Tsubasa wo Hirogete, yes the TL was terrible but it was still a good story and I like wind turbines okay, anything with wind turbines and gliders is great. Little Busters!, very long and the art is mediocre but the plot is still good. List in no particular order. G-Senjou no Maou best VN ever.

Everyone knows the best character in Coµ is Gasai Itsuki. Overall Coµ is just a really well made VN as expected from an AB2 brand. Currently replaying it.

[Solved] I started little busters but i am so lost, help?
Segai replied to MikeY91's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Most likely yes, if you miss an important choice then it may be worthwhile to retrace and make sure you click all the right choices while the game is skipping in the background. -

Segai replied to MikeY91's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Any choices that don't have the " *** " after them in the walkthrough are not important, that means you can safely keep going. It sometimes happens that you don't get a certain choice but that's not a big deal. -

Erm, I managed to use Google to recover a cached version of this if you're interested. http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:TjWMRdlywiQJ:forums.fuwanovel.net/topic/11268-how-to-code-a-vn-with-renpy-part-4-comprehensive-guide/%3Fview%3Dgetnewpost+&cd=1&hl=nl&ct=clnk&gl=be If that doesn't work: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/14922850/Renpy%204.rarsaved HTML and images. -
