At that price point I would suggest the Microsoft Surface Book, HP Spectre X360, Dell XPS or some Lenovo Yoga, not too familiar with their models. Personally I would choose the Suface out of those, but the Spectre X360 is a solid laptop too and the battery life is enough to last through a school day.

I had a pretty christian upbringing, went to Sunday school, hated it, learned about Jesus and all that and was pretty firmly believing until I was around 16 when I started questioning everything about anything. I would consider myself atheist now, I don't believe in almost anything, not even the things I want to believe in. I do think religion is unnecessary but the day religion is gone something will replace it, people are lazy and don't want to research other viewpoints and opinions.

I don't know about masterpieces, all the VNs I have read have always had some pretty subpar element or aspect, but Katawa Shoujo does what it does pretty damn well in a manner I haven't come across in anything else so far.
