  1. While Narcissu was my first VN around 2005-6 (or whenever it came out in English), I didn't really start caring about the whole scene until much later. I mostly got into VNs with FSN, Saya and Kara no Shoujo, all of which I read in English. My first untranslated VN was Muramasa which got me hooked on reading stuff in Japanese.
  2. I only read Gahkthun. I understood its plot without having played the other ones, although I did take note of what appeared to be minor references to events in previous games (New York?). If the rest of the games in the series are like Gahkthun, then this is sort of a hit or miss franchise. There are things I liked about Gahkthun, and things that kinda made me shake my head and left me disappointed and/or wanting more. Overall it's still fairly unique and the soundtrack is Fabulous with a capital F. But definitely keep in mind it can be sort of an acquired taste, so to speak.
  3. *brofist* Age of Wonders music is god-tier. As for me, Xenoblade comes to mind. I also enjoyed the soundtracks of Chrono Cross, Ragnarok Online and Metal Gear Rising Revengeance.
  4. The 1990 movie Misery, its main "antagonist" + pretty much the entire plot.
  5. It's decent but there are better shows out there. Especially compared to Gurren Lagann it felt lackluster.
  6. Official project -- none, but it's possible JAST *might* pick it up based on their history with Nitro games. So maybe in 10 years lol. As for a fan project, it was discussed here: https://forums.fuwanovel.net/index.php?/topic/3711-proposal-for-a-new-kimi-to-kanojo-to-kanojo-no-koi-project/
  7. You might be thinking of Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi. http://vndb.org/v7738 It's a pretty awesome Nitro+ VN that does indeed have 4th wall breaking. Edit: Oh and I checked, the infamous scene that was translated on Youtube has now been taken down due to copyright issues, so you won't find it anymore.
  8. Huh, that's a pretty cool easter egg. The rest are from Nitro+ games basically. Jingai Makyou, Gekkou no Carnevale, Zoku Satsuriku no Django and Demonbane at first glance. Anyway, the most obvious reference I can think of is the "dream sequence" sort of thing from Muramasa, when random heroines from other Nitro games appear in front of the MC. Even Sonico makes a brief appearance at the end.
  9. At least Trails in the Sky FC and SC are coming to Steam, if that even counts. =P
  10. Yeah, the reviews I've seen for this have all been horrible, but I'm willing to give it a chance when it goes on sale. Probably this summer. You don't every day see a PS3 JRPG make it to PC.
  11. Anything below 720p bothers me, so there's my answer.
  12. Eh, never cared much for Key so I won't lose sleep over this. Sucks for those that were looknig forward to it, though.
  13. http://vndb.org/v13012 You're welcome.
  14. I don't think disappointing is necessarily the same as a bad game, but nonetheless here are my major disappointments: FF Type-0, The Last Story, RE5, Lords of Shadow, Assassin's Creed 3, the new Tomb Raider.
  15. Call me weird but I'm a straight male and I don't care for yuri very much. I might even prefer male romance to it because I do find myself being attracted to "dreamy/badass" anime dudes. By the way, to answer OP, people who say they like yuri but dislike yaoi are dudes. There's your answer. I can personally enjoy male on male romance as well. I really dig bromances in games/anime and the actual romance is just taking that a step further I guess. I don't care for guys screwing, I don't particularly find it disgusting but since I'm a guy, I don't find it arousing at all. I am just indifferent to it. That's all. If you find it disgusting or go "eww", I do think you might be subconsciously homophobic to a certain extent even if you deny it. I'm not gonna judge you, we're all different and as long as you're not hateful I'll respect your choice, but it does seem like that way to me.
  16. I watch both cute and serious but the dark/manly sort of stuff is usually my favorite. You know, the kind they don't make anymore.* *except for JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
  17. Don't worry, I've already played 999. The whole reason I got VLR was because I loved 999, so I'm glad to hear there will be references.
  18. Hey there, enjoy the forums. For that avatar alone, I already like you.
  19. Emilie x Charles in Ourai no Gahkthun was one of the few I could tolerate, primarily because it wasn't just about sex, but rather the characters themselves.
  20. Obviously AF since it's Amantes Amentes that needs to be translated, not Acta est Fabula. Can't fool me!
  21. If what little I've read of Senshinkan's trial is any indication then yes, if you found that difficult then Dies will also be difficult, most likely. While certain parts are easier than others depending on who's talking, here's a random excerpt from Dies to help give you a general idea:
  22. The entire time during that video I kept thinking of the "squeal like a pig" scene from Deliverance.
