  1. Depends on the person and the VN in question. For example, for VNs that actually have story (like Grisaia) I do finish them at 100% so I don't miss on anything. For chara-ge where story isn't the strong factor (e.g. My Girlfriend is the President) I only read the ones with characters that got my attention (I haven't finished Yukino and Ran's routes for example). I agree there are some good stories that people shouldn't ignore, but it's up to them if they want the full experience or not. That's why I always say "give it a try, you might like it", since it has happened to me (I for one didn't like Michiru at first glance, then later one came to really like her once I finished her route). In the end though, it's all up to personal preferences. It's good that he's at least looking for info about the route if he doesn't want to read it, although I still think he should at least give it a try.
  2. Good summaries. In my opinion, the only bad ending worth watching is Amane's. That's about what I remember, the others were not that special imo. Do check it out if you're interested in specifics c:
  3. Being able to communicate with people, and also to get information I wouldn't be able to get if I didn't speak another language. Most of the information on the net is in English, so knowing how to read/speak it is very useful, not to mention lots of stuff gets translated from X language to English, so there's that too. English isn't my native language but I'm decently good at it. I started playing games from a young age so I *had* to know English in order to know what to do next, where to go and all that. That was my main and only purpose at the time. I actually "leeched" knowledge of the language from my older brother. He did all the research from English to Spanish and, because we only had one gaming console, I usually watched him play for hours, often asking him "what does that mean?". I like to think that he helped me as much as I did to him, because I often asked stuff that even he wasn't that sure of. He's studying to become an English teacher because he loved the language. So yeah, English means a lot to me because I understand a lot of information on the net, talk to people I meet in MMOs/forums and also because it gave me a nice relationship with my brother. Currently trying to learn Japs. It is going slow but it is ok, the only problem are kanji >_<
  4. Well, that was unexpected, unless something happens again lol Anyway, as I already said, I had fun with this contest. It was really nice taking part of it along with everyone else.
  5. Made it just a little before the deadline I think. Nothing new from me I guess :x So, I had fun doing this. Wrote all of this in one go so excuse the mistakes and stuff like that. This week has been chaotic to me and I haven't been feeling all that great, which is why I didn't really bother writing this before. I'm kinda depressed so I've been playing VNs and some MMOs to get my mind out of things. I guess it worked a little if I was able to write all this. I suck at making stories and I know nothing about super heroes (I've never read a comic after all), but I'm pleased with the result. Anyway, here it is my entry. Story is based in this contest, with some of my actual background I guess. PS: Solidbatman, I made you the main villain. I don't think that counts as lambasting, villains are cool and necessary after all. I had fun with this contest, it was a pleasure to take part of it with everyone else c:
  6. So, as I understand it, I have to take part in a mini-contest?
  7. Oh dear, I actually won something, didn't think that would happen :v Anyway, it was a nice contest, I had fun doing stuff every week since it was a change on my monotonous routine, which is always nice imo. I had fun thinking for 4 hours about what to do and then actually doing it which took around 4-7 hours (with a lot of breaks in between), which is why I usually finished 30-40 hours after the challenge was posted lol. If you ever do another contest, do count me in, I had great fun with this one. Now it is time for me to wait to get what the other 2 people didn't choose~ PS: Congrats to the other winners and everyone else that participated, I liked and had fun with some of your entries too c:
  8. Country: Holy Kingdom of Paltina. Location: Melbourne, Australia. History: Government: Religion: Culture: Flag: Anthem: Currency: Euro. Notable laws: I'm late :v
  9. Mayoi best girl. The courage to tell the truth!
  10. I think I will go with the Tales of adaptations (except Abyss). They pretty much suck because they are extremely short, which means they don't even use all the content they could be using. I mean, why make movies/OVAs when you can have a great 26 episodes TV animation? Abyss was pretty good imo because it had a lot of events from the game. Another option would be Rio: Rainbow Gate. I like casino games and all that but if I remember correctly (didn't finish it), it was mostly focused in fanservice and miraculous magic powers-like stuff. I didn't find it interesting.
  11. Theory #1: Theory #2: Stuck at docks. Theory #3: Most likely still in hangover due to new year celebrations.
  12. Ugh, this is my bane, I'm a good person you know? ;-; Disregard everything the release date of a game I've been waiting for months. That is no shower, dinner or studying for my next day exam (no sleep either so I was TIRED as hell that day). Can't remember which game it was though. I didn't study that much for my exams but even I used 2-3 hours on it so I don't fail, except that day (that was back when I was in high school). Yeah, nothing serious. As I said, I'm a good person (somewhat) :I
  13. Fondest memory... hmm... Grisaia no Kajitsu, Sachi's route, when she explains her past and the awesome epilogue: I'm weak to emotional stuff.
  14. My new year resolution is to actually finish some the VNs/RPGs in my backlog, I have way too many that I haven't finished (PC, PS3, X360, 3DS, WAY too many) ;-; I also want to be more assertive (or actually, be assertive). I lack initiative and social skills in general so I would like to improve that since I know the way I am is not the best. Basically, finish games I have stalled and be less anti-social (hah, like that's going to happen. 1 and a half year in uni and still no friends).
  15. Nice description of the contest lol I for one am enjoying it (my M side perhaps?) since it is a change to my monotonous routine. PS: Merry Xmas people~
  16. I've been busy this whole weekend so I had to rush it, I wanted to make it better but I don't think I have the time necessary for it. I'm pleased with what I wrote though, quite good considering I totally suck at making stories I think I understood why people were losing points, and it's quite tricky but fair I guess. As someone else said before, we have done something related to it before. Without anything else to write, here's my fanfic, a "date" between Watarase Jun (i.e. my favorite character) and Kohinata Yuma.
  17. Took me 7 hours or so (I blame my inexperience), but it is done. For someone with no drawing skills, I'm quite pleased with the result. Favorite character is Watarase Jun, dressed in Xmas attire. I originally wanted to put a hat to Hachikuji but I kinda ran out of space (biggest problem whenever I try to draw something, my inexperience shows :x ). This was fun actually, a break on my non interesting routine. Now it's time to sleep, 6:20 AM atm c:
  18. Totally in, I might as well try after all.
