    What are you playing?

Came back to playing VN's again randomly after a long hiatus and played Parfait Remake. Holy crap I expected this game to be longer, I felt so unsatisfied by the length because I seriously liked the heroines a lot, like I wanted to see a lot more of them. Its literally just navigating the map system and triggering events and then you can lock in a heroine after a few weeks of ingame time, and then the relationship forms, h-scene, and then an ending shortly thereafter. Why was it short and why was Katori Rea so perfect, rarely do I praise tsunderes a lot as they can be easily mishandled by

  2. There's something fascinating with how this thread is evolving with every iteration though. Like, he never directly responds to feedback or discusses stuff in the way forums users usually do, but you can see the effects of our responses every time this pops up. The framing is always slightly different and new arguments are replacing the ones that were most violently rebuked. It's as if this was some kind of spell, with the author looking for that one exact set of words that will magically conjure his dream project into existence. I haven't seen anything like it before. And @Nenor5VB,

  3. Heya all, I joined this forum because this seems like a really chill community. That and I really need a friend to talk about VNs real bad lol. So yeah, I am perfectly open to be contacted over here. Though I mainly play romance VN, I am open to trying new genres. It's just, romance is my main pick most of the times. Hope we can get along really soon. Cheers.

  4. VNDB lists unofficial translations as well - if there's even a slight hint of a translation in the works, you can bet that somebody will add it to vndb. What I meant is that it's very unlikely that any translation - official or unofficial - would not get noticed by vndb.

  6. Ah, so you're the dude who is on the top of the leaderboard. Hey, hope we can get along! I mean like, a little hell is fine, nothing could beat Twitter anyway.

    What are you playing?

I think Rea and Yui. Rikako had perhaps the best and most fleshed-out route, but I think my best girl after all was cute tsundere Rea So perhaps it would be something like Rea=Yui>Rikako=Ema>Asuka>Kasuri. I'm not sure where to position Mizuna and Mio - I liked their routes, but they were kind of different thing. And besides, they are absent from the edition you're reading, right? So, to sum it up - my favorite heroine was Rea, and my favorite ending was Rikako's true end.

  8. Welcome! I hope you'll indeed find our little community relatively not hellish.

    What are you playing?

It seems that we have similar impressions about heroines. And yeah - if the route gets unexpectedly short it means you triggered normal ending I don't know how it is for remake, but in original version, on the final map movement screen (on Christmas Eve) it indicated wheter you're entering "normal" or "true" route. In case of Rea's and Yui's routes, the difference between those two is one choice - to trigger true route for both heroines you have to choose Yui on 11/23. Here's the walkthrough Yeah, one of the better tsunderes I saw . And I had similar thoughts about Yui - she somehow t

  11. Well, I hope you're right. Been to some hell-ridden, blood thirsty, and batshit insane community forums before. While they're pretty amusing and charming in a way, it's pretty hard to get anything across. Nice to meet you Kitsune!

    Data extraction thread

What tool are you using for your extract? I'm assuming GARbro. Try using KrkrExtract instead. Just ran KrkrExtract on the trial version of your game and was able to get all the scripts, images, etc. out cleanly: ;マクロ//////////////////////////////////////// ; その夏最後の嵐の夜 ぼくは死んだ ;I died in the last stormy night in that summer. ; The TARHS Entertainment Presents ;

  14. I'm curious about something. This time around your stated goal is to have a character that looks like you that you can self-insert with. Why ask for black protagonist instead of a "dark-skinned Asian from SEA" whose skin tone is /exactly/ like yours? iirc in your previous threads you had asked for black representation in a way that made it sound like a charity project you were running on behalf of black people. Was that always a ploy to get a character that looks at least tangentially like you and not actually a way to increase black representation in VNs? As in, maybe you thought a black prot

  15. Penlight public release day is upon us yet again! This past month saw a little further development of the Villainous Devotion path, with several scenes being rewritten (one of them majorly) to go along with some fun new CGs added to it. But most importantly I managed to fully outline a path through the new-look "Zombie" storyline from beginning to end~ As ever, I'm interested to see what people make of it all. Another fun thing to note: As of this release, the number of unlockable CGs in the game has surpassed 100! Where will it end?! As always, you can find this month's release

  16. Okay, there's an assumption implicit in your statement which is that LightningRod is qualified to improve the script, and that's a big assumption to make. IMO it's not very likely that LightningRod is qualified, and his clumsy attempts to make things more understandable for those with a grade-school English vocabulary will not be desirable. Furthermore, his idea of using bold, or italics to denote a word spoken (but not written) in a different language is ... not correct usage. Neither are these []. TL;DR no, I don't look forward to his attempts because I doubt he's qualified to make

  18. I should point out that 'guernsey', 'sandman, and 'roger, wilco' are all normal pieces of language. 'Barmy' is slang, but actually very, very common British slang. 'Taking the Mickey' is something you have to be a Brit or an Aussie to understand :3 'Buster' is a bit old fashioned, it was commonly used in the 90s but I think the definition has morphed since then? Anyway, like @Decay said, it has more meanings than what you think. Check out the lyrics of TLC's hit No Scrubs (1999) for example A scrub is a guy that think he's fine and is Also known as a buster (buster, buster) Always tal

  19. Do you think anyone from USA or Europe would make a Visual Novel with a Black Protagonist ? We really need a VN like that fast and pronto. Because so far, there has been almost zero depictions of Black Male MCs being in a romantic relationship with any anime-style girl except for Bob Makihara in a very old anime ( Tenjou Tenge ), so I would very much like to play at least ONE VN with an MC like that. I may not be African IRL, but just a dark-skinned Asian from SEA, but I can relate and self-insert as any character that is either brown or darker(like Black people) because whenever I
