  1. Visual Novel Translation Status (11/29/2020) I'm sure that you realized that I parodied Gochiusa franchise, only that I changed Usagi' into 'Neko' because we have Nekopara 4 released few days ago and obviously Nekopara 4 here wouldn't deal with rabbit (Translation Note: Usagi mean rabbit). Speaking of Gochiusa Sol Press did manage to license the manga version of it, although looking from their recent performance I understand if the people have doubt on Sol Press. Welcome to this week VNTS Review and as for this week I can say that it's still like last week with several updates from both of Sekai and Nekonyan along with Nekonpara 4 release. Other than that, of course we still have the updates from fan translation as usual even though it's not as much like back at last week. So overall I guess I can say that this week is quite average one to a degree, and let's see what I can write for this week as well. While I did say that Sekai did have several updates, in practice it's just the announcements of the exact release date for their three short VNs. Those three VNs are Zombie VN Volume 3, Bokukotsu FD, and Zombie VN Volume 0. For the release date, it'll be at December 15th later which to say are coincide with several other releases at that week (ie Riddle Joker and Sukehime). While granted that the releases are not either Daybreak or Nine Episode 4, I guess it's good to see that Sekai finally cleared their backlog a bit. For Nekopara 4, it's more famous because of the art by Sayori that was apparently cited as good looking, and I can say it is considering back when I played Labyrinth of Touhou I use sprites mod with her arts on Touhou characters because I find the arts are good looking (I didn't know the arts in the sprite mod that I use are her works when I did play it). As for Nekopara 4 here, the premise is that our MC decided to go to France in order to get better in cake making because his father was disapprove the MC bakery. In any case, we should know that we play Nekopara here only for the catgirls and not for the story. Go get Nekopara 4 on Steam if you want to play more Nekopara, and have fun. As for this week fan translation, currently we have Shin Koihime Musou was at 38% edited, Yuuna's route from Harugi was at 69% (Nice number) translated, and Eustia was at 58.03% TLC-ed with Licia's route was at 32.17% TLC-ed. No much to say, so that's all for this week fan translation updates. For Nekonyan update, we have Kirikoi started the QA (At 1% right now), Clover Days was at 60% edited, their 1st secret project was at 65% translated, and their 2nd secret project was at 27% translated. They also has one more secret project with the current progress was fully translated and edited, and while I did suggest Harem Kingdom back at Nekonyan's Discord I guess the more reasonable guess would be either Tenshin Ranman or (Hopefully not) some VN that has available translation. In any case, Nekonyan said that they'll reveal the projects at either January or February, so let's see it later. Lastly currently they've been struck with payment processor problem at their own shop so that it can't be used, although since unlike Mangagamer at least it won't stop them to release Riddle Joker because Nekonyan still has several other shops. That's all for this week and sorry for being late here. See you next week. PS - I know that we have Ryuusei World Actor was released by (Unsurprisingly) ShiraVN at Johren (DMM owned store) today, although I decided to save that topic for my next VNTS Review. What I can say is that at least the character arts are looking good (Same artist as Koichoco), although obviously art here won't do much to save Kinugasa's inability to end his story properly.

  2. So, as part of a translation project (thread on that soon) I’ve run into a minor snag that means I find myself in the need of four save files for the games: 1. Enjoy ~Futari no Ecchi na Joi to Eroero Kenshuu Taiken~ (Terminated. An script has been developed from the save files provided and found to be applicable to all other games) 2. Amayakashi na Kanojo (See above) 3. Onee-san x Shuffle! (concluded. Save files needed provided by @Infernoplex) 4. Kajuu 100% (See #!) Now, to be clear... Seiya Saiga will not work because those saves are “Save States” instead of actual Save Files (the ones you load into a game scene that is not accessible through the gallery). What I need, if any are able to provide, are game saves (Atelier Kaguya games will register them as “Save001” or so in the game directory’s “Save” folder. They will be .dat files and be followed by a bitmap screencap). Specifically, if anyone here has the game on their computer, it’d be nice if they could upload the saved files or even their Save directory and distribute it through Box or Mediafire or even MEGA. If willing, I would also request specific Saves fo each game: 1. Enjoy: a save state after the bus collision. 2. Amayakashi a save state after the first H-scene involving the blonde heroine. 3. A save after at least every heroine’s route has been chosen at least once each. 4. A save after all heroines have had their first H-scene. I know this is probably way more work than many believe worthwhile. I still felt the need to ask, just in case someone happened to have the games installed and was willing to auto skip through most of a new game to the needed points or already had played the game and had some Saves handy. I mostly need it to test whether saves will be read by the base engine unless they originated in the same directory. While ENV or “Secret” files seem able to be moved around, I need to double check these as I have found more than a few files are directory dependent. Thanks to whomever may help.

  3. Hello there... I am a writer, designer and all-around creator, and centrally have been working on a Visual Novel project, for a good while now (a year and a half). Briefly, it is a sci-fi, fully-realized literary novel of fiction, in a space setting, with a few central characters aboard a spacecraft. It’s a work that people expecting something at a higher reading level and maturity can enjoy, though it retains fun, cartoonish design elements, and even a romantic, relationship aspect. The tone and pace is, more than anything, conversational; full of character and dialogue; and smart, down to earth, often humorous conversations about life, love, society, cultures, philosophy, technology, and of course, space. Currently in the process of final re-editing, and transposing the writing to code... forming code action and visual placeholders as I go... the search continues, for a (or a couple of) visual artist(s) so interested in gearing up, and jumping into space alongside me. This virtual book / novel videogame is, in contrast to a bulk of the related market: not short or half-written... not made for the sole purpose of being nsfw or lewd content... not relegated to the sub-genre typicality of being anime, or anime-like -- almost expected of games of its kind. In actuality, it represents a very small minority of quality-level, thoughtful, literary and uniquely-styled visual novels that has potential to find its way to the surface, and stand among a special few within this still-burgeoning genre. An omni-tasking creator, I’ve not only written the book and am performing the coding, but I’ve designed and sketched most everything required for the game’s assets... or will as we go forth. This includes character concepts and backgrounds. What I would love to have for this project is a fantastic artist, such as yourself, whom, I have noticed, has impeccable talent. If you are interested, I know you could do wonders adding to and making this project come to life. Without getting too salesman-y (though I come to understand some people are better swayed by the kind of professionalism), here are the reasons you would do well to come aboard and have a blast working with me on this project: 1. To all those who are or would be on the fence, I urge you to give me benefit of the doubt. I have actually, lovingly created a great novel / visual novel of literature, and it’s... frankly, quite good. In other words... in opposition to what the words “visual novel” might evoke in some people’s minds -- due to experience -- this is an actual work of literature-level, though accessible entertainment, which has the potential to become something that could “pop out”, or stand out as one of those few memorable visual novel titles. Existing solely for the story, the illustration, the musical atmosphere. This here is an unfulfilled niche zone, which I, with your help, will fulfill. 2. The work itself is likely going to be far less intensive than you might already presume, because, much of the creative, idea-generating portion is, or will already be done by me (that said, I am completely open to a person who craves more creative input, and I would gladly welcome improvements). So basically, there are decent character sketches and mock-ups, already; I’m expecting someone to do their best (better) rendition of these, and professialism-ize them with big screen-ready lines, coloring, and expression/pose changes. And also, decent-enough backgrounds (I’m cool with impressionistic, even quaint, minimalist cartoon styles here especially). Making it clearer: even backgrounds, I have basic storyboard directives thought out. And color schemes, I’ll have gone through and picked them for each character, their font hues, etc. 3. Monetary (the part where, just maybe, you and I make this get us paid): I am someone who just excitedly, passionately wants to work hard and get this project done, but good (but asap). That said, and bearing you are a person also wishing to be a part of something worthy... for the experience and joy, the name-making and accomplishment and possibly, breaking-through... there’s a lot of wiggle room in my ideas, regarding this. The first one I would prefer, is to go the “revenue-share” method, as partners; I would definitely negotiate a fair percentage deal with you, for your artistry efforts. And, I would be willing to potentially commit to some other offer as well, if it is doable. In other words, I’d love to talk with an interested artist regardless. We could potentially come to some agreement regarding pay, for the right match. 4. Finally, and simply to bring all the above together: You -- like the idea of being part of a passion, worthy, game-changing project; are ready to crank out some awesome drawings without a huge amount of extraneous effort, because you are well in shape for such a workout; are flexible enough in terms of getting payment, and see the overall benefit in being part of a (who knows...?) launch pad game / book / media entertainment, which could start or enhance greatly each our careers -- and add to the pantheon itself as it stands. I sincerely hope to hear from your excited voice; super skilled rendering fingers in no time. Take care for now --- Steven Lighthouse

  4. I see. Well in case some user like to play with console background and original sprites, just make sure that you delete all of original background (Blurred photograph one) in the Streaming Assets folder. I did test it with Matsuribayashi, and indeed you can play it with original sprites along with console background. With that, I guess your problem might be because you just move the folder with original sprites to the Streaming Assets in the game folder without removing the original background pictures.

  5. If you want the full experience you should wait. Why? First, fate extella link is the last game of the serie and goes by this order: Fate/Extra -> Fate/Extra CCC -> Fate/Extella -> Fate/Extella Link. Note that this serie is unrelated to fate Stay Night, Fate Extra CCC is not translated (yet?), and Fate Extra is having a remake on the way (no TBA yet), but here is a preview and their website: http://typemoon-bb.com/record/ It will be localised, but they are not even halfway through, and from what I heard, they don't plan to localise the sequel (CCC) because too much echi... But you have a non official team working on it, though they lied for years about their progress, didn't want to share any info at any cost and refused potential translators solely to hide their statut and sometime kicked out of their discord people asking too much questions lol. They became clearer lately and show some progress from time to time so maybe you'll be able to see a patch after Record is out, maybe... Well, CCC is the best game for the moment, you should wait for the Record while learning japanese for CCC, then you can player Extella and Link and have a better experience. Just so you know, this girl on the video is not the same Tohsaka Rin you know, but the Archer is the one from Fate Stay Night, same goes for Guilgamesh on CCC, where you can pick him as your own servant.

  6. It's something I'm very glad to see, handheld console is my preferred way to read VNs nowadays, just get comfy in bed and play away. Looking forward to see more releases trickle onto the Switch over the upcoming years. My PSVita has served me well. Muv Luv trilogy, Utawarerumono Trilogy, Chaos;Child+Steins;gate0, otomes like CollarxMalice and Code;Realize, Zeroescape + Danganronpa, whew.

  7. Oh, I see... That's a good approach, I think. Though it's going to be lots of tech work, I suppose. Oh yeah, sorry, my bad. I didn't answer your original request. I'd help with the savedata stuff, but sadly, I'm busy with something right now, so can't find the time to make those save states you need. I'd need to grab the VNs too, which I don't have either.

  8. It was the goddamn original resolution of the game. It's 1600x900 while the max resolution available on the laptop is 1366x768. It seems there's no way to fix this unless I go hack the game and resize all the images to adapt to 720p resolution.
