  1. Hello, I have decided that I am sick of windows and want to switch to Linux. I ran Ubuntu about 15 years ago, until I moved back to windows when I got a new computer, due to issues with finding Linux drivers for that computer. I have hated windows since the end of Windows XP, but always found a reason not to dive into Linux. The reason I am on this forum typing this post is because VN's are the only thing keeping me on Windows Operating System, so before I switch, I want to learn the tricks I need to know to get wine working for most VN's. So can any Linux users here tell me the most common problems you have getting a VN running on wine? Is wine the best method, or would PlayOnLinux work better for VN's? I have a huge VN collection to practice on, I just want a few tips to make the switch easier, Thank You. Edit: I found this guide: https://fglt.nl/guides/visual-novels-on-gnu-linux.html Let me know if this guide is missing anything, Thank you.

  2. I'm currently feeling completely unexpected kind-of VN, and general, burn-out(?). I mean, last time I read a VN (Sakura Strasse) was over a week ago. Perhaps it's because MC makes it not engaging enough for me, so I don't have strong incentive to continue, but still, I totally wasn't expecting that. In the meantime, my other hobbies took over for a while. I guess I'll return to reading sooner or later, but now it feels really weird. Maybe I should just drop Sakura Strasse and switch to something more engaging, but then, after buying a physical edition (since there's no download one, and no pirated one either ) I feel a bit reluctant to do so... Should have tried out the demo version before buying... Nevertheless looks like my tastes evolved a bit, and "pure" moege doesn't seem to work for me as well as it did before. Now I seem to need a bit of nakige as well. Didn't want to clutter WhatAreYouPlaying thread with this, so I'm writing here...

  3. Perhaps what ChaosRaven mean as Rance like MC would be Bunny Black, and yeah currently it have two VNs of that already translated. So if the OP still search for the recommendation then I'll suggest Bunny Black and it's sequel. For more recommendation, I guess Yumina and Duel Savior should be fitting although the latter is more like fighting games though (Or perhaps action RPG like Tales series). Other than that, Utawarerumono and it's sequel duology (2 and 3) should be good as well. Lastly I'll recommend Daibanchou as well. I hope that my recommendations here will be helpful to the OP just in case he still didn't play those.
