  1. Yes well you see i consider every work which got something cut or deleted as butchered. Because it is interfering with author vision of his work It's like having a cake without cherry on the top. If i'm paying for full cake i expect for this cake to have everything in it even the cherry. Because the person who maked this cake wanted this cherry to be there and i want to go with the author interpretation rather than translator vision who thinks that he knows better. You can take my opinion as nitpicking but i just love complete works with everything without censorship. Cause that's how it was intended to be. If people won't give a damn about such treatment soon tm we will get everything censored like that, to appease normies. And we will still be taken as minors even if we are over 18.

  2. Shirogane no Soleil was the first Soleil game and the one that defined the most essential elements of how the Runes, Valkyries, and other elements were treated within the multiverse (though a lot has been retconned since then). It is also a very old-style chuunige. The protagonist starts out as a normie, the girls are more powerful than him, and there is a horrible cost for using their powers. The heroines will seem somewhat archetypical in comparison to modern chuunige heroines, but that doesn't hurt the game as much as you would think. If you intend to play other games in the series, you should also pay attention to what happens to the various heroines, as some of it 'ripples' outward through the multiverse and has effects on their alternative versions.

  3. Calling it butchered is wrong, the translation is no where near as bad as If My Heart Had Wings (I agree there are some parts they could of did better but it's not unreadable at all), they didn't even censor sexual jokes or kissing scenes and there is even a hot spring scene that just has a lot of steam. If you want to call something butchered then the Steam version of this https://vndb.org/v15064 is worse then any MoeNovel title.

  4. While I generally agree with you, I thought the analogue gameplay was nicely inserted and fun, not to mention thematically appropriate and immersive as you play an investigator and there's data to be found with the commands. However, I'm used to using command line interfaces, which I imagine is a rare quality these days. Personally I'd like to extend your sentiment even further though. A lot of visual novels created EVN wise are (at least in marketing) incredibly and unhealthily obsessed with frequent choices (when they're not kinetic... but I'm fine with that extreme, so whatever). I don't think they ever really deliver on the freedom they pretend to be giving, and even if they did I'd rather not have to replay a zillion times to see the full text. Especially if there's no flowchart to use as a guide. I'd rather people focus on making good stories than providing unneeded agency. On a vaguely related note, Shinsetsu Mahou Shoujo is p good gameplay hybrid w
