Not buying from MG due to discord leak seems kind of stupid if you ask me, I would guess pretty much anyone in retail sometimes behind closed doors talk about annoying customers. And considering the 90% piracy rates and low pay I think it is pretty understandable that they rant among themselves when people are acting in an annoying way.

    What are you playing?

Yeah, I agree - in a main game Ruriko is a heroine without a route. It feels a bit like they used her to sell a fandisc...

As I expected then! I feel like it would have made more sense to have the Ruriko route in the original, though. She's basically a main character but isn't treated as such, being present in more scenes than some of the actual heroines but automatically excluded from all romantic developments despite participating in every event. (For example, she was one of the five girls who marked her spot on Masaya's map during the stargazing event, but the only one you couldn't pick.) Doesn't matter much in the end, but I feel like they could have handled this better.

Both girls have routes in W Happiness - it has five routes: Ruriko, Konomi, Tamie, Marika and Mitsuki.

  5. An SSD should be fine as long as you have backups, but a lot can happen in a month so maybe you should consider doing it more frequently. I certainly learned my lessons this time, so in addition to the new drive I bought yesterday, I also signed up for a Backblaze account; something I've been contemplating for quite some time. $60 a year for unlimited data backup seems like a relatively cheap insurance in case something like this were to happen again at some point.

Playing Higurashi right now, chilling in chapter 2. Very spooky.

  7. Well, you have to take into account that in Spain most people don't understand more than really basic English. A nerd into geeky things like me could be an exception, but in the end, I speak decently because I started to learn the language at 6 (my parents made the effort to send me to private class). A lot of people navigate through English classes at secondary and high school with no real grasp of the language, and they manage to get the pass somehow. Even universities only ask for B2 level. It's not really a bilingual country, I don't know about Latin America (but I'd guess in some countries like Argentina people care more for English). So, translating from English is not stupid for people who don't understand Japanese and don't care to learn it. And like I said there's a strong need for videogames translated into Spanish, let alone VNs.

By getting sent more review keys that I can ever go through. It seems that just by being something as rare as a dedicated VN reviewer you get quite a lot of people willing to give you stuff, even when you're beyond the point where you can promise coverage with any kind of certainty... Oh, also VNDB tags, game jams, recommendations from fellow Fuwans... The backlog never stops growing.
