I am watching the Oscars right now, and like the grammy's, the VGA, do you think at some point in the future we will have a visual novel awards? One can dream, right?

Read and finished Fatal Twelve over the last couple of days. I really liked it. Building a Battle Royale scenario around the regrets of people who already died, despite being not exactly revolutionary, is an interesting spin on the genre, allowing the storytelling to focus on the characters instead of action and suspense (although there still is plenty of both). And the characters (at least the ones that make it beyond the first few rounds) really are Fatal Twelve's strong suit, especially the ones who are framed as villains at the beginning. I wasn't that much into the love interest, but I think that's due to personal tastes and not bad writing. The only weak part in FT is its final act, which is too reliant on info-dumping and deus-ex-machinas. But it's not that long anyways, so I don't care that much.

Isn't it Shibuya (instead of Tokyo)? Anyways, I hope you like it! It's probably one of the only few VNs which make full good use of the branching system and does it very effectively, unlike so many other VNs with arbitrary choices

Few days ago Sol Press did announce the new release date, and the date is at 28th later so at least the delay isn't long here. Let's hope that the release will be successful there.

Today I watched Chuunibyou demo Koi ga Shitai! Movie: Take On Me, thus completing the show. @ittaku was 100% right - it gives very nice conclusion to the series, and definitely puts the whole show on the list of "anime with satisfying endings". Very nice tale about love and growing up. I liked it about as much as Toradora! - which it resembled to me a bit. 9/10 (1st season - 9, 2nd season - 8, movie - 9 - and when considered as a whole - 9)

Awards is one thing, really anyone can hand those out, but if you're thinking of a big public event then it gets trickier.

Well moegameawards has multiple awards they give out but these mean literally nothing (and money runs everything) but this event is streamed online.

Playing 428: Shibuya Scramble. I wanted something different from the other VNs I'm playing

Length of the route doesn't bother me that much. It can be different for each girl if it makes sense. I hate seeing stories dragged out just because. Though, I prefer it when the girls have the same amount of H-scenes. It triggers me when the girl I like gets less than the others, lol. Unless it's a side route or something, of course.

Also, I forgot to mention in my previous post - ToHeart is another VN (after YU-NO and AIR) voiced by Aya Hisakawa among others Here she voices Tomoko Hoshina, Akari's class president (and one of the heroines), who speaks Kansai-ben: BTW - I have to say, that I again experience something similar as with AIR or Crescendo - the VN looks much better when I play it than on the screenshots. When seeing some screenshots on VNDB, I was worried a bit about character design, but as I'm reading, they look fine.

After debating for a few days, I finally picked my next read, and bought Island. I've been reading quite a few moeges lately (I finished Chrono Clock the other week). So I wanted something with some drama....

I think I'm around the middle of Heart of the Woods and it's awesome. Wonderfully produced, full of mystery and I've just stumbled in it upon one of the most interesting plot twists I've seen in a while. It's exactly what I hoped it to be: the polish of Highway Blossoms coupled with bold storytelling that makes the whole thing feel much more fresh and original. I'm still yet to experience things I've seen reviewers complaining about, but if it continued with the same level of enjoyment and quality till the end, I'd seriously consider giving it a 5/5 rating. And not just because of my yuri bias, as so far the romance is far from being its main focus.

i mean let's be honest here. vn writers and readers generally aren't that experienced in sexual matters and they kinda just get their knowledge from other fiction. i for one cringe at the frequency of painful hymen breaking at every first time, dudes who can ejaculate multiple times easily, girls who cum easily without clitoral stimulation, and the ikea descriptions laced with copypasted dialogue/screaming of tortured young women. i guess it can also lead to some humor if i'm in the right mindset.

it had a lot of potential with its psychological elements, but it ultimately fell flat. then again, i was probably just disappointed after hearing so many people hyping it up as a great story. once you get past the underground game arc, the story gets pretty generic and sappy.

Fucking like porn stars from the first fuck. Then cumming like 6 times in a row and boner just getting bigger etc. Majikoi is especially bad. I wonder if it's some unknown gender not having any connection to female or male genitalia writing this nonsense.

Have now started doing my large yearly update, will probably take a bit of time.
