  2. I just finished a rather obscure moege, Koiiro Chu! Lips, and have to admit - it was nice. After reading discussions over at vndb forums I was worried, but, as it turned out - needlessly. True, the game is built around popular tropes, but it is executed nicely, characters are likeable, and I haven't got to the point of being tired/bored by those tropes yet Setup is little similar to what we'll later see in SakuSaku, the main difference being that Karen is honest Cupid, and not loli shinigami dreaming of changing her occupation Game uses "anime-format", similar to Heart de Roommate, complete with episodes, previews, eye-catcher screen in the middle, etc.etc. However, playing OP and ED for each episode was little too much. So, overally it was nice, but I think HdR executed it better. Common route does good job at presenting all characters, and there are lots of funny bits in there as well. I liked the SD CG's very much. It would be nice, if there was a route for Rinka (iinchou), as she seems to be nice girl too, but well, can't have it all... As for routes, I started with Karen It was nice love story, I really liked Karen in it, and how the whole story unfolded. There were some tear-jerking moments near the end too. Next was Shizuku-sensei This route was very good too, with many funny as well as romantic moments. There is also nice plot twist, with Shizuku being actually There were also some nice thoughts about relationships in general thrown into dialogues. And dialogues between Karen and Mei in previews for this route's "episodes" were absolutely brilliant, the best in the whole game. After that I went onto Misaki's route While Misaki herself was sweet, her route felt little bland, despite writer's effort to spice things up using Yuu It wasn't bad, but in terms of "how much did it move me", it was the weakest. Then, Nagisa: I found her rather annoying in common route, but her route surprised me, as I got to really like and care for her. Also, this route gives off some KEY vibes near the end And finally, the highlight of the whole game, and the "true" or main heroine - Mirai Man, I have soft spot for tsundere and osananajimi heroines, and here it was done really well. That route hit me hard in the feels many times - even in supposedly mundane moments. Mirai is great, as far as tsunderes go, she's for me right up there with Kotori Habane from Konosora (well, maybe slightly behind, Kotori being still my best girl ). Truly great route, I'm glad that I saved it for the end. I really liked the way H-scenes were handled in this game. If I have any fetish, it would be vanilla And the scenes in Koiiro are great, clearly of the "making love" rather than "fucking" kind, filled with some sweet (and sometimes even tear-jerking) dialogues. This is one of those games that wouldn't do well as all-ages title, at least not without some serious rewriting to show all that affection in some different way. Graphics and music were good, nothing to complain about. Translation is rather on the "liberal" side. Something like Fureraba, but with some meme references/4chan speak thrown in. It works surprisingly well, and it's mostly done with comedic bits. Serious moments are serious, just as they should. There are many typos, but besides that, it's good. So, overally, I think it deserves something around 7.5/10 Quite enjoyable experience, if you're not totally anti-moege, give it a try.

  4. Hakoniwa Logic has become the victim of the plague that is Sakuragame. As this unstoppable company continue all we can do is watch in horror as they rake in enough money from the chinese market to continue their goal of ruining VNs for the english speaking market. Btw here are some nice lines from their summary of the title Our protagonist, ,Wakui Arata is a student in the artificial city called Senba City. Senba City, also called Hakoniwa City, is a man-built city.

  5. While not nearly as famous as Winged Cloud’s Sakura games, Silver Cow Studio’s Time Tenshi is one of the longest-running EVN series, following a single storyline and consistent cast of characters since late 2015. So far, its developers published three, fairly substantial entries in the franchise: Time Tenshi, Time Tenshi 2 (released in mid-2016 and later expanded significantly in the Special Edition version) and Time Tenshi Paradox – an episodic game, with two parts already available and most likely more coming in the near future. All of them, unusually at this day and age, follow a relatively tame, ecchi formula with no actual hentai scenes – a choice Silver Cow seems to be quite dedicated to, despite the general trend of inserting 18+ patches into everything that can even remotely justify the full-on adult content. But, enough of history lessons – how’s the story of busty time travellers and sexy side effects of temporal dislocation holding up in the current, competitive market of anime boob slideshows? Surprisingly well, I’d say! Or at least, to a certain point... Time Tenshi Time Tenshi starts with a bang and soon after, follows it up with a few extra ones. The first scene features our male lead, Kenji (the usual faceless, high-schooler protagonist-kun), witnessing his house burning down along with his parents. After being hospitalized for a few months because of the shock, he’s picked up by his only close relative – maternal grandfather, an elusive scientist who was barely present in his family’s life. He invites Kenji to live in his laboratory complex, where he hides… A time machine, obviously! And while this might be quite predictable, there’s another important twist, which will be a leading theme in the Time Tenshi games from this moment forward: time travel has a fairly peculiar side effect when used by women, making their hormones go out of control, their boobs and butts grow enormously (until they return to their time) and turning them… Eager, for a brief time after they come back from the past (that’s the one direction in which the time machine works). And the professor’s assistants happen to be three gorgeous women in overly-revealing uniforms! Who would’ve thought! Read the full article at evnchronicles.blogpost.com

  6. Currently playing the demo right now, liking the premise so far even though I haven't gotten to any fights yet. One question, anyone else here imagining Tom Hiddleston's voice for Loki? XD

    What are you playing?

So, yeah, I was reading it pretty passively, so it took me some time to finish it, but I'm more or less done with Grisaia no Rakuen. Well, I'll be blunt, the main story is probably the worst part of the whole main trilogy. For some reason the authors decided to drop everything that made the story in the previous games actually good. Character development? Gone. Actually, I feel like even the development from the previous games was dropped for the sake of comedy. I mean, none of the characters felt particularly different from how they were at the beginning of Kajitsu, other than Michiru turning from a lovable idiot into an annoying idiot. Yuuji's monologues are also gone. The comedy, by the way, is pretty repetitive and mostly doesn't even feel funny at this point. Actually, it's quite noticeable that the authors simply ran out of ideas at this point. The story is mostly written in a 3rd person narrative, but it honestly reads like bad writing. Other than that, the pacing is also pretty bad, and the author somehow decided to add weird sci-fi and conspiracy theory elements to the last part of the series. And the ending... is weird, I guess. I don't know, maybe I sound overly negative, because I still can't say I hated this story, but I didn't like it either. So, yeah, I'm kind of disappointed. I honestly don't feel like reading the After Story. Actually, is it even worth reading if I didn't like the main story? I don't know, Maybe I'll return to it at some point. So far, I'll just drop it. The Prologue, on the other hand, is really nice. It's nothing amazing, and pretty short, but overall, it's simply a pretty good read. Final ratings: 5/10 for the main story, 7/10 for the Prologue, 5.5/10 overall.

  8. Okay, so this might be coming out of left field but I think you should go with option number 9 which is the gifted singer-songwriter Jim Croce. I think that would be a good option.

  9. Just be honest with her mang. If she thinks it's cheating, you can sort it out. That's the sort of thing you'll need to have a no-holds-barred talk with someone about, especially if you moved in together after only 5 months of knowing each other...

  12. Considering that Cabbit willing to trust their 'overseas transplant' to SG twice it's easy to see that Cabbit here probably did almost bankrupt, and therefore they probably seek the easiest way to go overseas quickly. Too bad though that Hanokiwa here is licensed by SG, but it's not like that we couldn't move on from that, considering that there's a lot of good releases out there. Of course it's understandable if we worry that SG might become bigger and somehow managed to license something like Fate or White Album 2 (Yeah I knew it's very extreme situation), but I think rather than worry about that I guess we should be more focused on the current situation. PS - Actually SG could be partnered with either Mangagamer or JAST (Even Sekai is fine) if they want to expand overseas, just like Hikari Field with Nekonyan. But I guess they want to be independent there.

  13. How about you ask me a better question big boy? Maybe. Only when you drink from the river of silence shall you indeed sing. And when you have reached the mountain top, then you shall begin to climb. And when the earth shall claim your limbs, then shall you truly dance. Also, never for I am Ranzo. Because my sweet sensual gurl, they are gay games. Now give me a twirl.

  17. This pretty much all relates to how she feels about it. It's like porn, honestly (assuming you are playing the porn type VN's and not, say, Steins;Gate). Some women are okay with it as long as it doesn't detract from them, hell because it's a VN it might be "better." Others are completely against it. So you got to ask yourself, does she like anime/manga and understand what a VN is. The whole "I learned Japanese because of those games" is a point that isn't needed to make you can easily just be like "yeah i thought it would be fun to learn" kinda thing. But if you want to play VN's, she has to know, and if she has to know, she has to be okay with it. ESPECIALLY if you are doing something "sneaky sneaky" behind her back. You can just tell her "look VN's are like reading a book, I can't do them with you around because I get distracted from the immersion required to fully enjoy it. So like reading a book it is best to have some seclusion/privacy while doing it. Hell you could even do something like watch a movie or whatever you do in the mean time" My wife loves VN's especially the yaoi ones from Nitro+, So yeah I get the jab every now and then about the VN porn games but I never hide it from her, If i'm playing those kinds of games she just goes and plays something/watches something/does something else. Now taking all this into account, if she IS the type to go ape shit over this stuff, then yeah you gotta either break it if VN's are more important to you or resign yourself to the fact you gotta give it up. If she REALLY does not like VN's then it's just going to put a strain on the relationship.

  19. sry for my late answer, had much stuff to do. Working on that patch too. If you can send me screenshots on which parts do you get crashing?... I had few crashes in the FAKKU version too, but I don't think is cause of the patches. The First problem is you don't have a patch.xp3 file, so you have to rename the patch2.xp3 to patch.xp3. Second problem is, it still won't work because I have to use the same encryption as the Japanese game, in other words. I have to have the Japanese game and recreate a patch for the japanese version. That's why we have 2 Versions of patches ( steam and Fakku ). If you want the problem be resolved you can send me a PM.

  20. Bump this thread because we finally have KS for this, and the goal itself was quite odd at 148,305. For the release plan, I think it was pretty realistic considering that we'll gonna get it at December 2019 later so they should have a lot time to work on this, especially with Arunaru on board to translate this if the KS was managed to gather 148,305 ie funded. Anyway, here's the link to the KS page below and I'll keep an eye on this, so good luck to the campaign. Venus Blood Frontier Kickstarter

  21. My GF told me that she got sick of that previous Albedo wallpaper, so I had to look for a new one... After a long search, I've settled for this - I don't think it's as good, but still pretty close. The old went to the start screen, I like it too much to forsake it all together. :3
