    Island

ISLAND VNDB: https://vndb.org/v18498 BUY on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/857450/ISLAND/ Summary Urashima is a small island, far from mainland Japan. It’s a true utopia, blessed with rich natural beauty. But the island harbours a difficult past, and it’s about to be erased, silently, from history. Soot blight syndrome, an endemic disease, has brought about a rift between the island and the mainland. An offshore platform intended for marine research has long been left abandoned; five years ago, three separate incidents brought the once influential Three Families of Urashima to near ruin. Rumours about children being spirited away have become part of the local folklore, alongside another legend, one that has been repeated on the island since time immemorial... “Let me tell you the legend of this island: it’s a story of tragic love...” The key to saving the island lies with three girls, each of whom belongs to one of the Three Families. These girls aren’t able to change the fate of the island by themselves, but might they succeed with the help of the young man who’s just washed ashore? Claiming that he’s traveled back in time, the man immediately sets out on a lonely path, challenging the long-standing traditions of the island, and seeking to change the future. But those aren’t his only goals... How will his presence transform the lives of these three girls, the future of the island, and the fate of the world...? [From official website] About "Island" Similar to G.O.'s previous works (Himawari), Island is a science fiction multiple route mystery with a fixed progression order. Your own enjoyment from the game will greatly depend whether you're capable of piecing together the presented fragments on the way to discover the truth. Despite being an all-ages title, Island is choke heavy on sexual humor (called shimoneta in japanese) and adult themes, including sexual content; explicit erotic content is simply not shown on-screen. Story discusses topics such as death and rebirth, loss of beloved ones, family, personal responsibility and a variety of science fiction related subjects - with time travel and many-worlds interpretation amongst few - but also astrophysics, genetics, spirituality, philosophy, human psychology and history of mankind. Most of the topics are entry-level, making Island a perfect choice for beginners willing to delve deeper into more complicated visual novels. General Info It is possible to actually chose between Karen and Sara during your initial playthrough, but I highly advise to chose Karen first, since her route acts as a natural introduction to the setting, without being as convoluted or cryptic as Sara's. Island contains many alternate endings (The so called BAD ENDS, although only few of them are tragic), with vast majority being story-based (non "game over" screens, where the protagonist typically just dies). Those endings need to be cleared in order to progress the story beyond certain points. The overall recommended progression order is as follows: SUMMER [Karen (restart) -> Sara (restart) -> Rinne] -> WINTER -> MIDSUMMER [Rinne End -> True End] This guide follows the above mentioned order, unlocking all the content along the way. Endings Aside from four main endings (Karen, Sara, Rinne and True End), there are total thirteen alternate endings available in-game (twelve for the SUMMER and one for the MIDSUMMER). You will see them all in a fixed order, provided you follow this guide. Names for the BAD ENDINGS are as follows (within their chronological order): Walkthrough Guide: All the saves are meant to be done during choices. The total number of saves used in this guide equals 16 and allows you to 100% clear the entire game. Save states in red are meant only for collecting BAD ENDS. You can skip those, if you prefer the trial & error approach. Regardless, this guide always assumes you have them cleared whenever required. Save states in blue are used for progression and remain the only ones you should be concerned about in general. We will be using those to jump quickly to required scenes without being forced to continously repeat large portions of the story. "Your choice" describes so called "flavour choices"; no matter the decision, they always lead to same exact outcome so pick whichever you like the most. Answers are merely kept to ease guidance. If you're lost or unsure, don't forget about the in-game flowchart! You can access it any time from the In-game menu and it can also be used to jump between already cleared scenes, similar to loading save states. Use it often! SUMMER KAREN SARA RINNE WINTER MIDSUMMER RINNE'S END RE: (TRUE END) BAD ENDINGS Attribution This guide was made thanks to the walkthrough available on Seiya-Saiga repository. All rights go to their respective owners. Everything else was done by le watakushi. If you'd like the high-res version of the title banner, PM me. Changelog 28/08/2019 - Rewrote certain parts of the guide for better workflow and fixed an inconsistency with Common/Summer route, which also made me partially omit one of the bad endings. 05/10/2018 - True end retrieved it's original name 09/09/2018 - Initial release

    428 Shibuya Scramble

vndb Steam Summary A kidnapping on the streets of Shibuya brings together a hot-blooded detective, hard-hitting journalist, former gang leader, the head researcher of a big pharma manufacturer and a part-timer stuck in cat costume for a series of events each more unexpected and outrageous than the last. Can they—or the city itself—make it through the day? General Info There is a total of 95 Ends: 9 Character Ends , 85 Bad Ends and 1 special end. There will be instances where you will be forced into a bad end and this is perfectly fine, as 50+ bad ends will be needed to unlock a certain character chapter. Using the game tutorial is recommended as you'll be taught the controls and in-game mechanics. A video walkthrough can be found here. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order This route order may not be the fastest way of completing the game, but it should get everything completed. Tama's identity gets revealed at the end of the 13.00-14.00 time block so do not open any of the spoilers starting from 14.00-15.00 onwards. Please note that you HAVE to follow this order, otherwise you will not be able to progress as intended. Bad Ends in the "After completion" section can be done after completing the time-block or after clearing the main story. In case you messed up, you can look at the bad end list to see what you did wrong. 10.00 - 11.00 11.00 - 12.00 12.00 - 13.00: 13.00 - 14.00: 14.00 - 15.00: 15.00 - 16.00 16.00 - 17.00 17.00 - 18.00 18.00 - 20.00 After completing all timeblocks Extras Route Guideline 10.00 - 11.00 11.00 -12.00 12.00-13.00 13.00 - 14.00 14.00 -15.00 15.00 - 16.00 16.00 - 17.00 17.00 - 18.00 18.00 -20.00 Normal End Suzune End True End Canaan End Mean Clean End 428 Pop Quiz Answers Special Episodes Conspiracy True Conspiracy Bad End List FAQ Attribution Walkthrough largely based on my own experience with the game. 4. You really don't know what you're talking about at all, there are games on Steam you can't get anywhere else (Island for an example), it is really sickening when people go out of their way to give out false information or hate on Steam for no reason at all, Steam is not a bad platform at all plus they're changing how they handle content: Steam Blog - Progress Update.

  6. As others have already said, I don't read something if I don't feel like it. This isn't your job (I think? ) so you bear no responsability towards it and you should never feel forced to read something you are fed up with. If you feel like dropping a VN to start another one, just do it, you'll be happier and that's what it all comes down to

  7. I can't agree more with your statement in regard of don't trust the hype there, so well said here. Yeah I also believed that it's still up to each other to find out whether the VN in question was really deserve the hype or not, and the answer could be different for each people. As for mean characters, just consider this as a politic lesson (ie politic is always mean) if we talk about Koichoco lol. That said, I believe that Chisato herself is at her worst in Isara's route from what I'd heard, otherwise she's quite tolerable in other routes. Also while this just my speculation, I believe that sprite might took some bad feedback in regard of Chisato, and from there they made her expy in Aokana (Asuka) is better than the former. For whether you'll gonna like it or not, I'll leave that to you. Also for Fureraba here, I would highly suggest you to try this and see whether you can accept the translation or not.

  8. I'd say "a bit mean" is a fair assessment, but then again I do like the character in question, and said character (Sumiyoshi Chisato) is polarizing (partly because of her behavior, and partly because you're forced to read her route first, as it is important for later routes). If you want to try Koichoco and it looks like something you'd be interested then give it a shot - it's got quite a few positives to stand in contrast to the negatives. To stick to the topic at hand, I try and give a VN a few hours and if I'm really not feeling it I move on. I've realized that some VNs do take time to get going, so it's not fair to judge them super early, but after that period (2-3 hours) if I'm not interested then I move on to another VN. The hard part is usually at the beginning though, but the same rule applies if it does start to get dull: stop and read something else. I just don't think it's worthwhile to try and force myself to enjoy something when there are other stories out there that likely don't need as much "forcing" for me to enjoy.

Examples of Walkthrough Formats: Single Route Character Routes Initial Route + Character Routes Story Routes Single Route, Different Epilogue/Scenes Walkthrough Template If you're not sure how to create a Walkthrough, follow the general template listed below. Implementing Save Points Into Full Guides We do not recommend relying on Save Points for your walkthroughs, for the sake of user friendliness. However, also for the sake of user friendliness, including suggestions for save points in order to save time is a good idea. First, you must make a full wakthrough for every route. Do not use Save Points. After that, mark places for save points with [SAVE 01], [SAVE 02], etc. In any routes in that you wish to load a save point go with something like [LOAD 01]. These save points are complementary. They are there for those who wish to use them, but the walkthrough should stand without them. Check this walkthrough for an example of this system. Be sure to include an explanation and ensure that it is clear to the reader that the Save Points are not necessary. Furthermore, if there is no enforced playing order, the reader may choose to tackle the routes by any order, which would mean that certain Load Points may turn into Save Points. Tips for Allowing Player Freedom in a Guide What to do if You Find an Error If you find an error in any of the walkthroughs, please post your concerns in this topic or inform staff via PM. Thank you for your diligence! How to Leave Feedback We've locked the Walkthrough forum down pretty tight to keep it as clean and accessible as possible. If you have any feedback about any of the walkthroughs (or other suggestions), please post it here.

  13. First - I mean no critcism, no offense. Purely curiousity. Do you have access to Fakku? I just wonder why so many people use Steam... I mean, those who are _not_ offended by 18+ content. The idea of buying from Steam and then DL'ing an 18+ patch seems crazy to me. I don't understand why anyone - other than under-18 or... repressed, judgemental prudes... would support Steam? They are and have always been an unnecessary middle-man for games... Injecting their binaries to monitor and control one's access to titles, etc... If you want the original, 18+ content, then just -stay away from Steam- entirely. If you have no access to other re-sellers, I'm surprised. I don't think the band-aid removal is intended for the Steam Version - but... HH has been pretty awesome to even work so hard to get a Steam solution. I personally would encourage people to avoid Steam like the plague. For me, they represent either censorship or "Big Brother" - both are bad ;-) Just imho...
