  1. Hohoho. Here's some news. In addition to steam, the game will also be sold on the JAST Store. The one sold on JAST will be uncensored (I think). The JAST store will also host the uncensor patch for the Steam version (for free). It'll have no mosaics. Perfundia will be up by or around 26/06/2018 The kickstarter will give us a new trial that will include gameplay segments. Read those tweets for information straight from the source and not misinterpreted by me.

  2. Hi everyone! I am an aspiring artist and now a kinda-wannabe artist, that was invited to make a visual novel a while ago. I think I'd be somewhat a weird type here, being the guy who's never played a VN in his life, but yet trying to make one. Ifound this forum via google search and it seems as a very nice place to desperately cry for help. I am a big fan of fantasy stuff based on medieval Europe and I mostly draw anthropomorphic animals, used to run a webcomic (before cancelling it)

Hello everyone, this account is almost 2 years old so I'd say an introduction is long overdue. I watch anime and read VNs whenever I can. Right now I'm learning Japanese so I can one day help more VN goodness come west. I hope we get along and you can use this post to ask me anything cause I don't really know what else to say.

Creative corner is about your own creations while VN Talk is about VNs made by other people (read you have no involvement at all), at least that's how I understand it. Marketing is not a clear match for the description in any of of those, but since it's marketing of your creation, it would likely fit best in Creative corner.

  10. I'm more interested in Venus Blood, to be honest. AliceSoft games get stale after a while.

Well, if you're okay with older looking graphics and no voices, you can try Tsukihime. It's by the same authors. There's also a fandisk-sequel, though I personally didn't finish it. You didn't miss Planetarian, right? Also, if you want to ask for more recommendations in the future, you can make a vndb list and link it to your account, if you don't want to recall all VNs you've read every time. 2.5 years, you mean? It still hasn't been 3 years since you registered your account here. But, well, I'm actually the same. I only made my introduction earlier this year. As my 500th post.

It could be worse. I realized I forgot to make an introduction after being active for 2.5 years Musumaker Majo Koi Nikki As for VNs, where the English translation have actually been released, the first, which comes to mind is Kamidori and then the Rance series. Sexy Demon Transformation is hilarious and fun to read despite being a nukige.

"Filthy gaijin", "weird type", "interest in VN creation, but don't know enough to do it without help". Seems like a fairly common description of Fuwa users. Welcome mr new guy, who fits right in here. You have come to the right place if your goal is to learn about how to create your own visual novel. A number of people know quite a bit about it and combined we most likely know everything you need to know. You didn't ask for anything specific, but I will still point to a thread, which would be a good start.

  18. Welcome to Fuwanovel, and as for where you post the thread that you asking for help, maybe you can try to post at Creative Corner section and explaining what kind of VN that you want to make. I don't know though if my suggestion will be help or not, but it might worth a try. I hope that you'll have fun here.

  23. There's a pretty strong consensus that the English market is thriving, with an ever-increasing pace of quality titles of diverse genres (alongside a wave of shovelware). The Japanese market faces strong headwinds, which explains why they're turning their attention to the English market. I find it hard to pinpoint any particular timespan where the industry was at its so-called peak, at least in terms of producing the sorts of titles I like. I feel that Elf will be keenly missed after their recent demise, as they made potent dramas that didn't rely on anime/eroge tropes--which sadly doesn't appear to be a recipe for success these days. I also miss Overflow's experiments in choose-your-own-adventure interactive movies with the School Days series. The problem with these sorts of reflections is that our tastes evolve over time. We tend to become more picky and more jaded. We fondly recall games that appealed to us at the time, yet these same games released now could very well fail to impress our current selves. However, it's a fact that Japanese games these days are bringing in less revenue per title than in the past. The market is tightening. It's unlikely that this will produce a positive outcome (for the Japanese market at least).

  24. * ef - a fairy tale of the two . Probably right up your alley. It has multiple protags, and all the various stories fit together. Presentation and soundtrack is great too. Has it's share of comedy, and scenes that will gut punch you in the feels... * Symphonic Rain . Something unique. What it lacks in comedy, it makes up for in plot depth. * Kono Oozora . Aka If My Heart Had Wings. Lighthearted comedic high school drama, centered around aviation. The music is ..... pretty unique at times xD * Grisaia no Kajitsu . Comedy is ramped upto 11 (mostly in the common route)! Probably the funniest and most unique cast ever. On the other hand, the character routes get ...... pretty damn serious at times. It mixes quite a few visual novel genres together. Highly recommended. * Clannad . Prepare for it's themes about life, friendship and family ...... to potentially milk you for many manly tears. Definitely has it's share of comedy and loveable characters though. * Wagamana High Spec and Fureraba . Both are basically about dating high school girls. Both have more erotic content then usual too. Fureraba has the edge in pure comedy, while Wagamama High Spec has awesome art.

  26. In earlier SOL VNs (those I just termed moege), there was a tendency for heroine/protagonist character development to be minimal. Most of the time, the (rather lazy) writers would use a gobi (an ending like uguu or nyaa) and/or a few obvious moe character traits to define the character from the beginning, and they never really swerved from that original character definition, even after the formation of a lovers' relationship. 'Nakige' began as a sub-genre of moege (primarily under the aegis of Key) where rather obvious situations were used to create cheap catharsis with the promise of a 'happy ending' (or the equivalent of) in the aftermath. As time went on, nakige gradually became distinct from the parent genre, as less moe-focused companies began to produce games that qualified. The key point of a nakige vs an utsuge, incidentally, is that in a nakige the point is to provide catharsis with a happy result, whereas utsuge provides catharsis but doesn't guarantee a happy result (utsuge started appearing about the same time as nakige but had almost no overlap with moege). Charage are an evolution of the original moege genre that retains the moe elements while also going more in-depth with character development (more involved and often showing traits that aren't necessarily designed to create a moe result). Since these turned out to be more popular than their predecessors, 'pure moege' eventually just... vanished (save for a few occasional reboots by companies producing low-budget games). Depending on the year, anywhere from 60% to 80% of the non-nukige VNs produced in a year will be charage since 2008. If you want examples of nakige... Kin'iro Loveriche and Komorebi no Nostalgica are both (relatively speaking) recent examples of this. For an example of a charage, Noble Works, Princess Evangile, or Wagamama High Spec are recent (localized) examples. Note that 'drama' in a charage path is generally mild, resolved quickly, and leaves little in the way of negative after-effects. For an example of 'pure' moege, To Heart 2 or the original translated version of Shuffle (before the extensive rewriting seen in Essence + version) would be decent examples. Edit: Understand, in a broader sense, most non-nukige VNs can be considered 'moege' in the original sense, because most otaku media uses the moe concept in its artwork and character designs. As such, 'moege' as it is currently used, is just an umbrella term for VNs with such elements. A 'pure' moege is one where there is little else but such content.

  27. Ladies and Gentlemen. It has been two years since I last released a Fan Case. Astonishing. I have managed to take double the amount of time to produce something half the size. This 'Fan Case' is a case for Ace Attorney written by yours truly. It has been written using an online case maker. In my magnanimosity, I am sharing it here. Features: Vampires (Probably) Mind-Reading (Maybe) Ghosts (Supposedly) Anti-Climaxes (Unquestionably) If you're looking for any of these things, play my trial! If you're not, play it anyway, because I'm so bad at writing it might not even have them! You must simply afford a fee: Your time. I would accept nothing less than your most valuable commodity, after all. If you happen to not know how to play a fan case of a game you've never heard of on a case maker you do not know how to use (What incompetence. Get on my level) I have produced a tutorial just for the likes of you. Updated just today! What are you waiting for? Go over to this other thread and play it now! All you need is to click the link under the section designated: "Link:" Ace Attorney Online is the website, forum, community, and free online case maker I used to create this fan case. If you have any criticism, opinions, want to complain about the fact that I reused this entire section from my last thread, or just want to flame me, please leave your comments on either this thread or the other one I linked to. Thanks for playing! ...If you do play, that is.

  28. I seconded Clephas's recommendations here, and while I'm at it I'll recommend Yumina as well. For more recommendations, I can recommend Daibanchou as well here seeing that it also have same element as both of Kichikuou Rance and Sengoku Rance. Also if you want easier battle, I think you can try Mamatoto as well although the story is quite cliche though. I hope my recommendations will be helpful to you. PS (4/30) - I did forget to add Bunny Black here. For the info, it's gameplay VN as well with the MC (Darx) is almost resembled Rance. You can play the sequel as well (Also translated like the first Bunny Black).
