  1. I've been analysing the sexual content of VNs, what's become more common, what gets the best ratings, and what content tends to come together; and thought I'd present some of my results in a slightly different way: in a quiz! Using the extensive character database on vndb, I tracked which appearance and personality traits were more or less likely to engage in types of sexual activity, and put the results in a quiz format so you can enter the tropes and it'll tell you how the percentages diverge from the average. This is a slightly silly way to present the results, but I thought you guys might enjoy it. You can try the quiz here.

  3. Honestly I think her art is overrated. She needs to make it less shiny and make the characters have less same face.

  4. Thanks guys! I'm glad you're having fun with it! Haha yeah I learned a few new things through making this too. Like I'd never heard of a "belly job" before. Vndb certainly makes sure to catalogue even the rarest of activities, although I can't help but wonder whether anyone is really picking which VN to read based on whether the heroine does a one handed or two handed peace sign during the sex scene.

  5. I learned a new thing about myself today. And a new sexual tag, thanks Bunny.

  6. This is... surprisingly entertaining. Can't say I got anything that out of ordinary, but making me into a VN heroine would still make me pretty fetishistic, lol.

  7. If I was a girl, I would apparently be a lesbian who would likely be subjected to cunnilingus. I like girls and eating pussy, so I confirm this quiz works.

  8. (Note: I had never played or had an interest in Otome or OELVN before reading this demo. As such, my opinions expressed in this post will reflect accordingly and should be a bias perspective) Just finished the demo. Great job on the OELVN @milkteebaby! Firstly, the writing is pretty good. It is lively, and the demo is interestingly written. It's very novel-ish in style though. Not sure if it's good or bad, but just wanted to point it out. The soundtrack is pretty good as well and greatly captures or set the mood, especially the scene at the end of the demo. As for the artwork, it's my first time seeing this type of art and I find it very unique: Your studio also took real life photos and modified them, and i find the results to be pretty good: Overall, I like the artwork and style a lot There are some issues with the demo which I would like to highlight though: Firstly, there are small grammatical errors in the demo (My average english proficiency has gone down the drain though. Posting this comment for what it's worth ). Also, there are dialogue placement errors too (such as sequence of conversation when the reader first met Naoki in the VN). The most important thing is this: the VN looks and feels like it takes place in a western country instead of Japan: \ I think it's very difficult to convince readers otherwise unless your side dramatically overhaul the entire VN. Personally it did not affect me nor my initial good impression of it. Just wanted to highlight this in case it's important to you I think the final product will be great. Try to market it to first time OENVL / Otome readers like myself. This demo certainly made a very good impression on me and I like it a lot Best of luck with your project!

  9. What a time to be alive. I tried to respond as more or less how my female alter ego would be. The results are as boring as I am, but I can't say I'm dissatisfied

    What are you playing?

Each girl gets 4 scenes (and one girl gets an additional masturbation scene). Each scene lasts a while. All of these are usually towards the end of the respective route, which often grinds the plot to a crawl. Each girl also gets a bonus scene for completing their route (which can be freely accessed from the main menu).

  13. I see no meaningful distinction between helping someone to do something and encouraging them to do it, but if you do, whatever. As I said before, the position of "Friends don't let friends machine translate" is half humor - associating it with harmful activities in a exaggerated manner. While I do agree that, ultimately, people can do whatever they want to themselves, I'm allowed to have opinions about what they do as well. Some people enjoy self-flagellation, but I think they're crazy. If someone bought Da Vinci's notebooks only to use them as toilet paper, I'd be annoyed. If someone buys an expensive prime Kobe steak, well spiced and deliciously rare cooked, then puts ketchup on it, I'd be annoyed. And if someone uses machine translation to 'read' a visual novel like Akeiro Kaikitan or Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no then I get annoyed. Especially when they then try to discuss their experience with others. As I said before, it's only slightly better than trying to discuss the game with someone who hasn't played it at all. For example, before the Fate English translation came out, it was annoyingly common to have people who'd used a text hooker and machine translator to try to discuss the story. They were frequently wrong: about events, motivations, even names - but somehow that never stopped people from strenuously presenting their views. Crappy games, like most nukige, I care little about. Some nukige are solid VNs, even outside the porn - some Eushully games, for example, or the HEAT-SOFT Magic Girl series. But few people are interested in discussing fap scenes in ANY language, and I'm not one of them. I do care about good stories, and when machine translations mess them up, I'm get annoyed. Now, selling machine translations - or ANY bad translation - is a little different. It's a more extreme version of my views, because now they aren't just presenting a crappy version, they're asking for money. And like selling fansubs, that's just a jerk thing to do. In your very first post in this thread, you insulted Kiriririri's "Japanese fetishism" and "elitism". I did mistakenly attribute the phantomJS's middle fingers to you as well - sorry. pJS, naughty naughty *wags finger*.

  14. WagaHigh was pretty sex-heavy. I enjoyed the game, but once it got into a route, it definitely felt like a very large percentage of your time (more than half?) was spent on H scenes. Lots of thoughts on it from back when it was fresher in my mind, when I reviewed it: https://fuwanovel.net/reviews/2017/10/18/wagamama-high-spec/ Edit: Also, scanning through my review again, I was reminded that I really liked the soundtrack, so I just bought a copy on amazon.co.jp. This turned out to be an expensive Fuwa post for me...

    What are you playing?

OOoops! Are you telling me that every time I ripped off all the legs of a grasshopper and stuck it in an ant pile or spiders web I was doing a bad thing? But yeah, I really liked Rin's character through her route and Lancer was truly a great bro. Get ready for the third route though, it's gonna be a doozy. So I'm still stuck on Kyou's route in Hatsukoi and, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god,oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, they actually used a condom during her sex scene. I think this is the first time I've seen a condom appear in a Visual Novel? It's mind blowing! Holy shit! Also, this is straight up terrifying

  16. It's a derogatory term. If you're using it as an abbreviation, you should either be using all caps (JAP) or a period (Jap.), and should only be doing that in cases where condensing the text is important (like Twitter). When you are writing full sentences, as here, you should strive to avoid using abbreviations, especially when those abbreviations are also epithets. There is a great deal wrong with machine translation, starting with the translation. You may end up with a rough understanding of what you are 'reading', but little to no understanding of detail, subtext, or (in many cases) context. You might as well ask for someone on the forum to give you a one page summary of the visual novel; it'll be more accurate, and better written as well. Learning Japanese is time consuming, but not difficult. I suggest you try it. But if you don't want to take the time to learn the language, that's fine. But please do not pretend that random words strung together by a machine trained on 2ch posts is representative of the actual source material. Half humor, but "Friends don't let friends read Machine Translations". Machine translated products are universally crap. Many of us who like visual novels would prefer that crap not be held out as representative of the genre. Not to mention, the only thing that is more of a waste of time than trying to discuss a visual novel with someone that read a machine translation is trying to discuss it with someone who hasn't read it at all. His comment it isn't "Japanese fetishism" or "elitism" or any other insult you can hurl. It's a sense of humor, combined with the basic understanding that what you are doing is not going to produce the best results, or even good ones. If all you want is crap, that's up to you. But don't go around making false claims like "there is nothing wrong with machine translations", and trying to spread that crap to others.

  17. What's wrong with that? It's merely an abbreviation, like how I call my pals from Germany Germs. There's nothing wrong with MTL. Learning Japanese is a time-consuming, arduous task with minuscule payoff and little to no professional or vocational benefits. Not everybody wants to invest so great a portion of their life into learning a language solely for the consumption of visual novels. There's also nothing wrong with that. As long as nobody attempts to disseminate their MTL or pass it off as a translation project, there is no issue whatsoever. Please take your Japanese fetishism and elitism elsewhere, Kiriririri.

  20. That's the plan. We're planning to release the partial patch containing both Fione and Eris' chapters (minus their side stories). No confirmation date on the partial patch release yet (there's still some stuff that needs to be done on the editing, TLC and QC side), but look forward to it when it's announced!
