  1. Chaos;Head Noah (stylized as ChäoS;HEAd NoAH) is an updated rerelease of Chaos;Head, a 2008 visual novel by Nitro+ and 5pb. This version includes six new endings that were not present in the original; one for every main heroine. However, while the original version was only available on PC, the updated version was available on practically every platform but PC. We at the Committee of Zero intend to change that. The original Chaos;Head was translated on TLWiki years ago. We intend to build on this work, but heavily revise it and edit it as to match our writing style. Please bear in mind that we are not associated with TLWiki's team in any way, and this project is not related to their own abandoned Noah port and translation. Staff We are currently in need of: A translator with some amount of past experience and the availability and diligence to make steady progress over a few months to a year. Our core Noah team consists of: Engine Reimplementation for PC: SomeAnon, DrDaxxy Translator: [RECRUITING] TL Checker: SnowedEarth Editor: Kumin, Discontinuous Qualia CG Editor: Cypert Keep in mind that this list does not include everyone in the Committee of Zero. We have many members, including those who have done... zero work. Progress At the moment, not much work on the translation itself has been done. We've set up the basic workflow and are putting together an organization system, so once we finish our current side project, we should be all set and ready to jump on translation work no later than the start of the new year (assuming we find a translator by then). However, what this project currently lacks in translation work, it makes up for in porting work. Our technical team is building a complete reimplementation for PC of the N2System engine that the Xbox version of Noah runs on, and we've made substantial progress. Right now, the engine is capable of reading and interpreting the game's scripts (though it currently only displays backgrounds and plays in-game audio - nothing to show off yet). Notes By the way, SciADV fans may be interested to hear that we recently released a patch for the Steam version of STEINS;GATE fixing many of that version's shortcomings. We don't feel this warrants a Fuwa thread on its own, but we wanted to mention it. The port will likely be finished before the translation, and once that happens, we plan to release it, so Japanese speakers can read the VN on PC. If you're interested, and think you can help, then aside from this thread and my PMs, the best places to contact us are via e-mail at [email protected] or our Discord.

  2. I even spent my custom Steam Awards nomination slot on it!

  3. I think the characters are decently fleshed out and they all have fun stories to tell. You'd probably enjoy it in that regard. However the moenovel release really butchers one of the routes and it ruins a lot of the humor in the story. The current restoration patch only restores the h-scenes, it doesn't fix the writing, so you'll still encounter issues while reading. Regarding the fanservice outside of the sex scenes, there actually isn't much to see to be quite honest, outside of one or two scenes, so the bulk of the VN is storytelling. There is a lot of slice of life sprinkled in it though, which may or may not be up your alley. I'd say it's a worthy VN to be played for its story and fun characters, the only major drawback is really the moenovel release of the game.

  4. We're addressing the EVN thing. There is a metric fuck ton of them to sift through, but we are working on something to publicize them more. Should see it by mid December we hope.

  5. Correctamundo. pabloc has said multiple times that his patch will not support the Steam version, as he doesn't want to fix their mistakes for them. The only version that the patch will work with is the original Japanese release. Don't buy the Steam release if you plan to read the re-translation, as you'll be wasting your money.

  8. Lol, so there's a TLC but not a translator? What. I can't wrap my head around that, but whatever. At least you have one guy covering a Japanese-related task, so I won't rage as hard as I would normally do. Good luck finding someone arsed to spend an hour per day. In my opinion you shouldn't be asking for that thing especifically, because in most of those cases nobody will spend one hour per day every day until the project is over. Maybe I'm just overexaggerating. Anyways, good luck again.

  9. So, keep in mind that it's been a while since I played this, but here's a few thoughts from a big Sekien no Inganock fan. It's a somewhat open ending. I don't like those all the time, but one every now and then is fine with me, and I rather liked this one. I thought most of the plot, at least, was resolved. In particular, the most important question of the plot, the cause of the incident, was explained to my satisfaction. While I don't believe there was a precise explanation of how it happened, there was a very clear, if indirect, explanation of why it happened, which gave me a great deal of emotional closure in the story. That was enough for me to like the ending. Similarly, the fates of all the main characters, while not directly stated, seemed clear to me, and I appreciated the explicitly-specified fate of the one person they chose to depict in the ending. Generally speaking, while it's an open ending, I think it nicely closed its themes. It doesn't go out of its way to explain how things work or what happened to every character, because that shouldn't matter in the grand scheme of things. What matters is why certain events happened, what the people involved in them felt and believed, and what they experienced as a result.

  10. That's not defensible at all; it's a combination of conjecture and nonsense. If you read the article you yourself linked, it specifically uses "threat of legal sanction" in the definition of a chilling effect. There is no such threat: at least dozens of eroge are released in the US every year, and obviously Pulltop is well aware of that since they sold IMHHW through the very same vendors who are hawking that eroge. There is no chilling effect towards eroge in the US, so let's stop throwing an incorrect term around here. If you even relax that a bit and just say they're worried about the controversy of objectionable content (which is a different argument entirely, and which by the way is now way far afield of anything any sensible person would call censorship), then, what controversy are we even talking about? Do MangaGamer's roughly monthly releases of eroge stir up a ton of controversy that I'm missing? I'm sure there's some, of course, but I'm equally sure it's nothing to write home about, or I assume I would've seen it somewhere. If I'm not seeing it, where would they? What sensible grounds would Pulltop have for thinking that releasing a plain vanilla moege in the US is going to stir up some kind of firestorm of controversy? I'll also throw out a roughly equally baseless hypothesis, but one that I happen to believe: they're releasing a non-eroge because they think it'll make them more money. Plain and simple. Sucks if you like eroge, but there it is, and it's unfortunately not something you can blame the government or SJWs for. Go change it with your wallet, and get more people to do likewise, if it's important to you.

  11. Besides Kanon, the legendary tearjerker in winter, Kara no Shoujo 2 also has a very strong winter theme. Edit: Ah, and Cartagra too.

  15. It's not weird if I said so. In fact I think there's a lot of VN which had the setting in the winter. And since looks like you could read Japan there, might as well recommend both of Astral Air and Gin'iro Haruka. Both of those were quite long, especially Gin'iro one. Hope it'll be fulfill your request. PS - If you want more recommendations, just check this list. Note that all of them were had Winter tag.
