    Chloe

What is Chloe? Chloe is a point and click horror game with puzzle elements. A dark story about family, choice, and consequences. Featuring a non-linear story and exploring family life without secrets. It's based on Y;N, another visual novel styled horror game, taking the point and click elements from it and also partly based on Those without Names as the main character explores her past. "Chloe is trapped in her own home, and what starts out as a way to find a key to get out soon turns sinister as she realises something -or someone- is out to get her. Will she get out safely and find out the mystery? Or will she be consumed by the past? That is up to you." The Team Rinima (writing and coding) and Jack (advertising and management) form the core team, but we also out source from people all over the world, including Accha (character art) who worked on Dreaming Mary and Painted Heart, Joshua Mock (music) who worked on Tunnel Vision, Badriel (Background art) who has worked on Aurora's Nightmare, Sakura Angels, My Little Dictator and many others, Hijiri (Logo and GUI) who has worked on Death Rule: Lost Code and Aeternam Conquest: Judgment and Barzini (marketing). 3. Hey there, I wanted to share a visual novel app I have been working on for the last 6 months! Visual Novel Reader allows you to read any visual novel converted to VNDS(++) format on your android. Google Play Download Instruction Video Personally I like reading my visual novels on my phone or tablet, it is much more comfy than sitting in front of an computer. Reading a visual novel is like reading a book, it is preferable to be able to read it anywhere, like if you're travelling or somewhere with no internet access. Since this is indeed a visual novel forum, I suppose most of you have heard about the VNDS and VNDS Interpreter option for reading visual novels on android already. And so did I. Since I started reading visual novels I have read almost every visual novel playable by the VNDS and also made contributions myself (Kagetsu Tohya and Kanon converters). However the developer seems to be gone, and the app has been unpurchasable for a year now. Which is why I around christmas decided I would attempt to make my own VNDS interpreter. And instead of making a new platform I decided to extend upon the VNDS-format so it could support all existing VNDS novels. It would be a waste not to. Hence I am just calling it VNDS++. Additions to the VNDS scripts so far includes the ability to play videos, AND and OR operators (rather than a pure kernel scheme as in the original), as well as easier sprite positioning. The upside of having made it myself is that whenever I create a converter for a visual novel, if I find there is some essential support lacking I can extend the interpreter, rather than having to find nasty work-arounds. I'm not sure if this is of any interest for you, considering the VNDS is quite an old platform now. But being one of those who prefers to read visual novels on tablets, this is something I have been working hard on: to extend support and availability for visual novels on android. I will be using the summer to create more converters and bring more visual novels to android. I'm currently working on a converter for Clannad:Tomoyo After. If you are interested and would like to play a certain VN, feel free to suggest visual novels you'd like to be able to read on android. I hope this may be of interest to some of you - Synthicify

  5. Panhygrous. Disgusting word ... and yes, I know some weird words. Lots of generalising here. As you get older you see people attracted to all types, depends on the person and depends on what they want and like. Each person is different. When I was much younger I witnessed one of the prettier girls at school ask out one of the nerdier and less attractive students, and then saw her get rejected, so there's not really many rules or such. 'Men', 'Women', eh whatever they're just people, go and talk to them and get to know them. Just remember humour is important, basic hygiene too, don't forget to wear pants, and you're all set.

  7. Hello everyone I'm here to annouce that we just created a sub forum in the Anime/Manga Talk board dedicated to Anime/Manga Recommendations. As the name implies, this board is dedicated to people looking for recommendations in Anime, Manga, Manhwa, Manhua and Light Novels (but that would make the title too big ) Lately people have begun asking for more anime recommendations and we feel as if opening up a little space to put all these threads in will help in Organizing the forums as well as show users possible recommendations that were asked previously by other members. It's still an experiment, just like the Visual Novel Recommendations board was, so if it doesn't work out too well we can roll it back, but given that it's not an entire board and just a sub-section I think we can all agree it's not a terrible idea and shouldn't bother too many people. I hope most of you welcome the small change.

  16. I wrote yesterday about the Steam Greenlight campaign for Debonosu's Kagura Douchuuki, a rogue-like H-RPG. Read my article for coverage of the announcement and a first impression. As Steam doesn't allow adult content, this release will be censored, with all adult content removed. Kagura Douchuuki contains dozens of H-scenes, so the content removed will be considerable. By my estimation, more CG will be removed than left behind. The game's art will be thoroughly gutted. Not only will the game itself be butchered beyond recognition, but if left unchecked this sets a dangerous precedent for future English releases that cannot be ignored. If Japanese developers get the impression that Steam is the one and only venue for visual novels, this will be the first of many Steam-only releases of VNs that were originally ero-games. I've contacted both Debonosu and Sekai Project via Twitter, with no response. It's time to escalate this. For those who are opposed to Steam censorship of this title, here's what you can do. Go to Debonosu's twitter account (@debonosu) and tweet this message: 神楽道中記はエロシーンが取り除けたら、その利点を失くしてしまいます。神楽道中記の18禁版も英語化してください! If the ero scenes are removed from Kagura Douchuuki, the game will lose its main selling point. Please give us the 18+ version in English! If enough fans speak up, they might listen and also release the original 18+ version in partnership with an eroge publisher like Sekai Project, Mangagamer, or JAST USA. Edit: On a reader's suggestion, I changed the message to make more sense to a Japanese reader. The old message was: 言論弾圧には反対です。18歳以上用版(英語訳)下さい! I am opposed to censorship. Please give us the 18+ version (in English)!

    QC Hopeful

Yo, my name is Lolrider (as you can see above) and I want to use this space here to, mostly, plug myself to any fan translation groups that are in need of QC, Proofreading, Editing, etc. I don't have any formal experience doing this kind of stuff but, I am confident in my mastery of the English language, if you want to call it that. I can't rightfully say I'd be any good, but I'd like the opportunity to try it out, in any case. I'm a college graduate that only works part time at the moment, so I will have lots and lots of free time for the foreseeable future. Also, I plan to use this opportunity to really see if this is something that I'd be okay with doing for real American dollars, and if that turns out to be the case I want to gather editing samples so that I can be hired in the first place, etc. etc. What that means is that I am committed to doing the job as effectively and as quickly and accurately as possible, because this could have very real ramifications on my future. No pressure. At the very least, I will finish whatever job I started, barring any real life problems, or things of that nature. Other than that, English is definitely my first language (and only fluent one at the moment) and I've been a big fan of VN's for a good portion of my life, at this point, so regardless of whether I can get an actual job or not, any opportunity to help spread this medium and make it more successful is one that I would gladly accept. Unfortunately, fan translations are far and few between, and this is an inelegant solution to my problem. But! I plan on doing something similar to other forums and websites. So hopefully I'll get a hit for one of them. Either way, thanks for reading this, guys, Lolrider

  18. Well it's been one year since I joined Fuwa today. I was hoping I would get to 1000 posts but I will soon enough I feel like I have been mostly a lurker and haven't attempted to really engage with the majority of people in this community. As such I would like to reintroduce my self and hopefully participate more in the future To start off my first name is Thomas, but I prefer to go by Shu online. Ever since I was little I enjoyed watching various cartoons and (later to be known to me as anime) with my Dad and friends. I watched Naruto, Sailor Moon, Pokemon, Digimon, and Yu-gi-oh with out knowing where they came from. As I got older my Dad brought me back things from over seas when he went on business trips and I began to love the pop-culture and later historical culture of Japan. Probably around two and a half - three years ago I started watching anime, reading manga/light novels, and listening to foreign music a great deal more. To be honest I felt quite inferior at first since my knowledge of the industry was and still is limited. Over the past year at Fuwa however I stared to actually want to learn more about the more eccentric things that happen behind the scenes. Of coarse I haven't gotten very far in that regard yet but, oh well. Like, the many other people here, I assume Katawa Shoujo, was their gateway to visual novels and then Fuwanovel. Well that stands true for me but I wouldn't have bothered to with out watching Oreimo first. Kirino, the best girl in Oreimo, loves her eroge and after watching I decided I would look some up to play. I stumbled upon Katawa Shoujo and then Fuwanovel after that. I do believe that I have been making decent progress on my played visual novel list, but I still remain far behind many members that frequent the Fuwanovel community. Moving on to my favorites. When it comes to favorites, I am unfortunately very passive and indecisive, just like that MC we tend to dislike. If forced to choose however White Album 2, Oreimo, and Guilty Crown would be at the very top of the list (which is in no order ) when it comes to anime. Now for visual novels since I have only read something along the lines of 15-17ish it is a bit easier to play favorites. My answer for visual novels is... Yep yep a big shocker right? Last but not least comes my favorites for manga. This is easier than anime and visual novels since I just loved it so much. My favorite manga would be Nozoki Ana. Oh gosh did I love this manga. It made me writhe, cry, shout in happiness, and yell in anger. These apply to White Album 2 as well. Finally (I lied about the last part) is my love of music. Again it is a shame I do not know any of the technical aspects of music but as a meager consumer I will live with it. Music, music, music, oh how I love thee. It can do just about anything if put into the right hands. Music can create almost any emotion you can imagine and even ones you can't. Music can express wonderful stories and vivid fantasies. Music can bring you up or bring you down. A lot of people seem to dis on a lot of music these days. I can see where they are coming from but I do not agree. Has the lyrical value of music gone down? In some cases, yes. However, that does not mean you can overlook the amazing artists out there that aren't as well known. Even the ones who are and create "shitty" music you do not like have their purpose. The purpose of many new songs is to have fun and get you hyped, nothing wrong with that in my eyes. *Ahem* sorry to ramble on like that... Anyways this is pretty much an extended version of what is on my profile page. I would like to thank everyone in the community for keeping it alive and kicking. Special shout out to Ken-kun (Monmon) who has played a large role in my life despite what he may think this past year. I hope to get closer to other members of the community as well and if you have any questions ask! P.S I tend to use commas/parenthesis a little to much. At least I believe I do, hope it doesn't bother anyone ~~ P.S.S (Shameless promotion) Check out the K - POP Fuwa Fans thread! It hasn't been active or updated in a while but if you have some interest in it go check it out

  19. To be honest, if something more interesting is up before I start this, I'll probably play that... why? Simple, you can name the protagonist, which is enough of a downer for me that I seriously want to avoid this if I can. Setting that aside... this looks to be a fairly standard charage, though the protagonist isn't - for once - a high school student (instead a college student). A big downside of what I read on the title was that it seemed like the protag is a total dimwit, even by VN standards... if a possibly amusing one. Another is that the list of settings for the heroines are all standard archetypical ones that make me want to scream because they are so familiar - in a bad way. The only positive thing about it is that it isn't in a high school, so there are no sudden transfer students, student council presidents, or class president heroines... which is nice. Can you see how much I don't want to play it from what I said above? Or would you like me to elaborate? lol God, I think I understand why most of the long-time VN bloggers have always been even more negative than I am about this kind of VN... which is sad, since I joined this site to get away from that type of person. Anyway, for all that bitterness above, rest assured moe fans that I'll at least give this VN a chance before I decide to drop it into the abyss of 'VNs not worth playing'.

  24. @Meogii meant AKA "Also Known As". Kind of wrong to use it there since it's more for names/aliases/identities (ie. Link AKA the Hero of Time) but eh ~~ Elaborating on what I said earlier: since I find interacting with strangers so unpleasant I would actually choose not to interact than to interact. All of my best friends IRL right now are the result of them being the ones who for some reason thought I was an interesting person and so they stuck around & interacted with me more until I eventually got comfortable around them and opened up myself. Other than that, 99% of my acquaintances I meet will forever remain so if they have no interest in getting to know me better cuz I for one won't try to get to know them better

The legs seem a bit too short and feet are too small (aren't those boots too tiny for her feet? It propably hurts) compared to rest of the body and I could argue on overall composition, otherwise it's a really nice piece of artwork. Try looking up some similiar works on pixiv or DA to gain more ideas on how to creatively enchance art by using foreshortening and refrain from drawing overly empty shots, unless it's completely necessary to achieve a particular effect. For example, I'd rather try with a close-up from a profile of her face and use the window as a background, or take a different shot from an angle (more from a corner of the cafe). Sorry if this doesn't help you much, but I might have gotten too used to a more cinematic experience and I've seen way too much visual novel art, it kind of infects my drawing habits. Aside from that, this really reminds me of True Rememberance, with the only exception of your art being a lot better

My Mom told me, "Don't smoke, don't put your children through the same thing". At 24, I have never touched a cigarette. I must say, I feel a sense of regret, because playing Clover Days for 5 minutes gave me cancer anyway.

  44. That ten dollar tier is hilarious garbage. Edelweiss is almost mediocre, there are moments where you think it can go beyond being kinda bad but it never makes it. That nurse game, no comment. Demonbane is legit. I feel it's underappreciated in these parts, but it's a really entertaining read. Aselia is good, too, albeit a bit repetitive when going for alternate routes. The $4 tier is a steal.
