YU-RIS engine

This it like the most difficult engine ever in my opinion. (Games like Euphoria, Pajama-san Konnichiwa etc)

There's no information about it on tlwiki and so on.

The only thing I found was this on archive.foolz.us:

1). Get AnimED (http://wks.arai-kibou.ru/ae.php?p=dl)

2). Open those .ypf files with the archive tool.

3).Go to the Data Tool, and on the dropdown select XOR

4).Press Bruteforce Bytes, and select a small .ybn file from the now extracted .ypf file.

5).Go through all the files (there should be number files) and find the one that makes sense.

6). Put the number of the file in the Parameter box

7). Process the data for all the files.

And to re-package them:

7). Process the translated files with the exact number.

The XOR key is impossible to find for me..

I can get every CG or whatever from Euphoria or Pajama-san Konnichiwa.. but I can't get the script because it is secured too good.

Does anyone has some experience with YU-RIS?

(Sorry, I didn't know where to put this topic and because it's about fan translation, I thought that I would put it in this section)

The engine has to be able to read the scripts, so it must know how to decrypt.

Post or PM a link to the executable and one of the small files, we can take a look if we have time.

Its not hard, and definitely not "most complex". I've hacked it in 2012, to TL euphoria, and have full set of tools, including scripts (.ybn files) decompiler/compiler. I'll publish them some time later this year, when I get alpha version of my PyVNTrans software working.

Eushully's AGE and age's rUGP are much more hard. Well, latter isn't "hard", just very hard to work with due to be huge single file. Takes ages to test each little change.

If you want to try tl it again, I can set up project with decrypted files (in fact, I already have them, and some are even translated), altho its pointless since MG considers licensing it. Besides, 37k lines is A LOT, and will take ages for single TL.

But I really want to translate another visual novel since Euphoria is going to be translated.

I don't know why the program doesn't work anymore..

Here are plenty of projects which are looking for additional translators and translation checkers. You can just join one of them.

If you need help with some other VN based on YU-RIS engine, PM me and I'll set up everything for you.

I hope it's not too late to get help with this engine, since I was thinking of translating a game (Eroge! H mo Game mo Kaihatsu Zanmai) to my language and I'm also having problems with the encrypted .ybn files.
 
I would be very grateful if someone could help me or guide me in this.

Thanks for ask, I was checking the ybn files with a hex editor and I noticed the "YSTB" at the beginning of them, but then it continued: "... (a quotation mark and three points), however for the hex side you could see 22 01 00 00

 
Does this mean that they are from version 2xx or 4xx? I'm a little confused :S

Its version 290. I was recently asked to check files from version 292, so I'm quite sure your game is similar to that one, and it needs some work to change my tools to support it.

Right now I'm a bit busy with my dayjob, but I've already promised to make tools for that ver292 game, so if you could wait till the end of month, I'll help with your game too. PM me around nov. 26, I should be free by that time.

Did RusAnon send his tools to anyone else here, or does anyone have a way of getting his attention? He hasn't checked this thread in awhile apparently, and he still hasn't read the PM I sent him over a month ago. I can see that he's active almost every day though...

The game that I have in mind is Eroge (+18), its already in english but I want to make a re-translation to Spanish.
What I know so far (thanks to RusAnon) its that the yu-ris version is 290.

I'm giving a try anyways to see what happens.
