Halloween is fast approaching, and the end of my favorite month is nearly over. I have compiled the list of who needs items shipped before I leave for Japan, and by the end of next week I should have mail being sent to all the respective giveaway winners. Still, do you think that's enough? Of course not; OriginalRen can't stop the prizes here! In the next month, I will be hosting a very special giveaway. For those of you who follow Nosebleed's Fuwanovel logo contest, I will be hosting a similar giveaway which allows you and your mind to create something special. It's time to take another step back in time friends!What is the purpose of the giveaway? The purpose of this giveaway is simple: I want to create a piece of Fuwanovel history for the upcoming 2015 year. We have seen ups and downs from the beginning of time when this website was 1st born, and while I have not been around for all of it, there are members who feel great attachment to this website. The purpose of the giveaway's theme is to take a step back in time and remember something which you hold dear. Whether you are a member from early 2012, or a new face who is reading this post for the very 1st time, everyone is welcome to participate. Members of this site write reflections about their time here and what it means to them. Whether that reflection is commenting on what the past year has done for them, or whether it's about their 5,000th post on the site, we have all been there at some point in time. I want to document all of these reflections and put them in a time capsule which will be featured somewhere on the site for us to look back on when we need to remember what the past 3-4 years have given us. It does not matter if you are an admin, moderator, member, or fan translator, everyone is welcome to join in on the memory. I plan to take all submissions for the giveaway and create a memory here on the website. I will alphabetically organize a list of names and have a provided link to their reflection for everyone to look back on in the coming year. Whether I get 1 or 1,000 entries, I will make the list, so start submitting!What do I do in order to be a part of this giveaway? Joining the retro giveaway is easy! All you need to do is submit (in text) what the world of visual novels, Fuwanovel, and Japanese culture mean to you. This can be a reflection about the games, the people, anything! There is no limit to the amount of words you are required to use, so write whatever your heart desires. This is your chance to submit something you can remember for the rest of your life. If you are confused, start by following these simple rules for the entries: All submissions must be a .doc word file. If you are unfamiliar with how to create one, ask around and I am sure someone will help you out All submissions must be double spaced when written All submissions must be 12-point, Times New Roman font Put whatever you would like in the document, be it an inside joke, a heartfelt confession, or some new year's resolutions, the choice is yours. Members will be able to look back on these in the future year when the compiled list is created, so make sure you say what you want; this is your chance to share your deepest feelings, so don't hold back!Where do I submit my work when it is complete? Completed submissions can be submitted to me via email at: [email protected] In the email, be sure to include your member name, spelt how you want it written for the list.Is there a prize associated with this giveaway? Of course there is a prize! For every submitted entry, I will put your name into a random drawing. The winner of the drawing will receive the following goods: 1 visual novel of their choice from Japan! Since the anagram activity did not have 2 winners, I need to give another person from the site a free visual novel. This means that the cost of shipping as well as the game itself will all be paid for by yours truly In addition to a free visual novel of your choice, the winner will also receive a custom award badge which will be featured on your profile sidebar! Sticking with the retro theme, enjoy an 8-bit styled Makise Kurisu! Feel free to ask questions if you have any regarding entries for the time capsule. I'm thinking it's not typing like this because that would be weird and instead essentially making sure there are always not one, but two linebreaks at the end of a paragraph? Like this. Do you want people to write a philolical document about what they like and dislike about the site, about all the "drama" they've seen on the forum, about their involvement or what ? Write about your experience in the world of visual novels, about the people, anything. I actually catch that quite often, but I spammed this last minute before going to bed. Thanks for noticing. If you are having trouble creating .doc files, don't worry to much about it. Not only does the name not make sense, but it looks extremely ugly, and actually detracts from my reading speed. Paragraphs are indented in order to please the eyes, but double spacing creates a thousand more unnecessary gaps on the page. Also, it's a waste of paper, obviously. It leaves room for corrections and comments in an academic setting. Of course, I'm not sure what purpose it serves in the context of this giveaway, but I'm sure there's a reason.
