This VN is pretty straightforward. It is a comedy charage with about 90% of the emphasis focused on the comedic aspects. What about the romance? At its best, it is a bare bones generic type, constantly interrupted by jokes that break the mood (deliberately). What about the story? Irrelevant to nonexistent.
This is a VN where you get almost all the enjoyment out of the comedic aspects and character interactions. Even if I were to compare this to the 'average' charage, the romance would be lacking in most cases. The characters are universally otaku, though their genres vary. The protagonist is a generalist otaku who can get into anything that is non-extreme. Maho (the osananajimi heroine) is a fighting game otaku. Nanaru (step-sister imouto) is an idol-anime otaku with a perverted attitude that resembles that of the stereotypical idol fan. Suzu is a shounen hot-blooded action lover (giant robot, battle anime, etc) despite being the classic cute devoted imouto. Shiina is an eroge lover (to the point where she chose the protagonist because he was like an eroge protag, lol). The club president (male) is a lover of play-to-win social games. Kaara (random foreigner girl, starts out fat, gets thin suddenly) loves jidaigeki (Japanese historical romance fantasy). Last of all, we have the obligatory yaoi-loving Akane.
This VN breaks the fourth wall constantly and doesn't make any attempt to cover it up or act like it didn't happen. This VN isn't one that is likely to remain in my memory, but it was a fun read in the sense that it made me smile. Too bad there isn't any depth to it, hahaha.
Edit: Anyone wondering why my comments on this and Ryakudatsusha are so half-assed should know that I completely lost interest in this VN during the heroine routes (boring as hell outside of the comedic moments) and Sankaku as a whole is a bit monotonous. Ryakudatsusha was a different story, having been something of a disappointment for me (though a certain type of VN reader will revel in it).
