Lord Zero

Greetings everyone. Oh well, this is the deal. Im a second year japanese translator, just beggining to grasp the minutiae of japanese grammar. While many of my fellow students like manganime and games, they are regular people who only know about the popular shows and the like. Recently a teacher mentioned how useful are visual novels towards getting more familiar with the language. I knew that already, but i had been unable to convince my friends otherwise. So i have this girl friend of mine who ask me for some games. I have several titles on mind, but i think that many of them may turn out to be too complicated, too severe for the uninitiated. So i would like to hear your opinion on whose games would be better to spark interest, while not being too intimidating. PS1: We are spanish natives. So their base english is weak at worst, enough at best. Plenty enough to understand basic speech at least. But i`m doubtful about their vocabulary range. And i think that some people feel tired of reading stuff in other languages, so maybe something that doesn`t feel hard to understand would be better ? PS2: The games i picked so far. - Grisaia no Kaijitsu = The setting and characters are great. The language used is not that complicated. I think that both girls and guys would find it entertaining. My most secure choice. - Hoshisora no Memoria = A classic moege with a lot of character types, ranging from imoutos and sempais to sickly girls. But maybe it`s way too male oriented ? Too much moe ? Maybe normal people won`t get it. - Rewrite = It`s a great adventure, both romance, jokes, fights, the end of the world and more. Then again is way too long. Someone who has never played a galge before would be able to enjoy it ? - Cross+Channel = The story is great, but will it appeal to a girl ? Kurosu jokes may appear rude and unappealing to people who don`t get what does they represent... and i think that the story is kind of convulted.

Mmm, i Agreed. Though since the game is kind of lenghty i wasnt that bothered about the story progression. Then again Sora was my favourite character... man, wasnt she the cutest ever. I wish she got a more important role in the story, plus more romantic developement.

Mmm, while i agree that they don`t seem to be nescessary... if you are an avid VN player, you would have easily picked up the scenes where it was blatantly obvious that a H-scene was going to be played and it was "replaced" by something safer as somekind of placeholder for the ero. So i think that LB! was thought with sex from the very start and for some reason it was opt out in first instance. It way different to how Rewrite is played. I wasnt able to pick up strong hints for H-scenes anywhere... BTW Kanon sex scenes have always bothered me. It felt like it was the opposite and for some reason they added them by force into something that didnt need ero at all to work.

That would be amazing. Im playing on my Vita through the patch and is working really nicely. Its something amazing to be able to enjoy such a great game like this. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Im spreading the word around, i hope that more people can catch on and enjoy it as well. PS: Rewrite it is awesome. Yep. Though is so long that im really afraid of it being a unsourmountable task for you guys. Im still looking forward to it.

Mmm, i liked the fan translation... the only think it lacked were the completed tips, plus some word wrap here and there... though the gifts are awesome (looking at you lab badges)... i wouldnt be happy getting a translation that changes stuff that is important to me. I been checking around and some screenshots of the game show weird translation that are meant to make it more mainstream... and hell, Steins;Gate was all about the otaku subculture, hell,the whole Kyouma character is based on a popular meme ! Im not buying it, until i get decent reviews from people i can trust... like you guys, so please give us some backup on this one.

Played it long time ago. Then again, i will try buying it, just to support VNs being translated. I bought the re-released Vita Danganronpa as well, so...

It used to work perfectly in my old psp. Has someone tried or heard how to get it up and running ? It crashes right in the beggining when Nagisa is first introduced.

Mmm... i just moved into a really small and cramped room. There is barely room to walk around the place, but i still managed to cover some of the walls. I left behind most of my stuff though... if my mom still keeps my room like it was i guess that my wifes are still alive and kicking, but since my parents house is in another continent... Oh well, im going to show of some of my stuff later on. Just wait.

Aww man... i man to play it so bad... then again, my kanji reading skills are still too weak for such a challenge. -_-u i have it loaded in my psp though, just in case.

Nitroplus came up with a series of games solely related with each other. Kinda like the Infinity Series from Kid. Chaos:Head takes place in the 2000s, Steins;Gate in the 2010s and Robotic;Notes in the 2028 i think. They share certain elements so you would notice some things that would enrich your experience if you happened to play them all. But its not like you need to play one to understand the others.

Is Agarest any good ? I got it when it first came up but i havent touched ever since. Ys in the other hand seems to be at least as good as 7, that was great in the psp. Ill be sure to buy it as soon as the physical edition is shipped to my fav store. Currently playing Yumina. Man, its a great game. The characters are really likeable, the story is quite enjoyable. The music does his work quite nicely. Usotsuki to Kisuato is definitively the best one i dont get tired of listening it. Beated the Ai and the Kirara route so far. Man. Kirara is my ideal kind of girl. I really liked her character. Her route is my fav so far. Miharu is really funny. Her namesake from the second game is such a amusing character as well. I bet that the Amakase from the third game will turn out to be a great character as well. Bananas for everyone !

Im glad to hear that the game turned out ok. Ill buy as soon as i can.

Wahahaha. I dont have anything useful to say. I just wanted to say that when it comes to VNs i had never saw anything as weird as this. Such a rare find should be treasured. Like the pokerus

Yo pal. Im a newcomer as well. So far seems like a decent enough comunnity. PS: Figured out that i was going to find some shockimages or something. I blame my intellectual curiosity on this one. I had to click it and find out the truth.
