Places to visit in Tokyo (one day visit)?

Ueno has a large density of places to visit in a small area. There's a big park, an art museum, a zoo, and I think a nice shopping district nearby.

That and Akiba though one thing about Akiba is you should probably know what you're looking for before you go into a shop. It tends to be so crowded and cramped it's not really ideal for just browsing. Much easier to get in, go with the flow of people, snatch what you need, buy it and get out.

I'll be leaving in a couple days. These are more of what's been on my mind.

How much Yen should I carry for a day walking around Tokyo? Do they exchange USD for Yen at the airports? Is that the best conversion rate price? Should I choose a maid cafe in akiba or a Sushi restaurant?

I plan on one restaurant visit + snacks + 2 Taxi cab rides from the airport and back. Any extra will be spent in buying a souvenir. Will 24,000 Yen keep me comfortable for the day or will I be barely scraping by?

Have you been to Soapland?  :D

Maid Cafes aren't really for eating at, it's more for the atmosphere. The food/drinks are really expensive because you're mainly paying for the company of your waitress. If you actually want to eat food a sushi restaurant is far and away the best choice. If you want to be waited on by a maid but not eat very much then a maid cafe is the correct choice.

And yes you can exchange USD for Yen at the airports.
